  1. They are probably trying to trade him (again, most likely).
  2. Chourio is completely floundering in AA this year. He’s going to plummet down the prospect lists. He doesn’t have the pedigree or enough history to be able to have a bad year and still stick as a top 10 prospect.
  3. Quero is looking like the real deal. Moving to AA and looking stronger than ever means he's prime to rocket up the prospect lists. Some of his underlying numbers are very strong, BB% K% BABIP. If he keeps up his pace he will be a top 3 org prospect pretty easily soon. These days for MiLB prospects I love to see low K rate, solid average, and if possible 5 to 10 HR per year which can often grow to 30 a few years into a MLB career so he checks all the boxes for me.
  4. Idk I checked FIP rankings on 2 different websites and they both had us at 25th with 4.72
  5. I was looking at stats and we are essentially bottom 5 in offense, bottom 5 in pitching (both bullpen and starters) and 1st in defense. So I don’t think it’s fair to say that the offense has been letting the pitching down. They both stink. Good defense, great luck and a relatively soft schedule is all we have going for us.
  6. Who cares about backlash if the team is in the tank anyway
  7. My main take away was, damn the offense is going to be frustrating again. I know, 1 game, questionable ump, but that was the most noticeable thing.
  8. It's not that I want 1 more lock down arem (although that would be nice), what I want is 1 or 2 more Boxberger type guys, just someone with 2-3 years of throwing the 7th inning at 4.00 ERA or something. 1-2 more guys that I know they won't be a gas can for a month and then DFAd.
  9. Man our bullpen sucks, I didn't realize how bad it was until I looked at the names that actually made the team there. Williams and Bush are the only 2 guys you can trust there, they both have their risks, but that's typical for bullpen arms. Besides those 2 everyone on the roster looks like a guy who should barely make the team.
  10. 2.2M guaranteed is a little bit of a screw up, that's the main one you can blame them for a little bit. This org doesn't care scout sunk cost.
  11. Houser at the moment has pretty low trade value. He’s not good enough as a 5th starter to interest a contender based on last years numbers. He doesn’t have enough upside to interest a rebuilding team as a reclamation project. His best place at least until the trade deadline is here in Milwaukee either in the bullpen or as rotation depth.

  13. If he signed a 5+ year contract today for some role with the team I would be happy but he’s had 1 foot out the door for years now and I don’t think he has done anything that significant in the past year
  14. Long term it might be good for people trying to watch the brewers but I think it would guarantee lower payroll for a long time. Since they apparently over paid for TV contracts.
  15. I wonder if Stearns has had less effect since moving out of the GM role. I'll miss him, the team will miss him, he's not going to be a lifer though so at this point I'd almost rather get it over with and get some compensation for losing him.
  16. I can’t really have an opinion about this one without figuring out who gets DFAd/traded/optioned. I want to keep Brosseau, I want to keep or trade Hiura, I want to keep the door open for Turang and I don’t want BA to be an every day starter in the OF for the season unless some unexpected things happen. Also what about Toro? Can we even keep him?
  17. Josh Bell has been very inconsistent in his career. I don't think Milwaukee is the place for him, We get the worst of all the hitters that come here. Sign me up for Abreu though. I think that guy is going to play until he's 40, doesn't need any coaching whatsoever and I don't even care if the power comes back if he hits .300 and takes walks.

  19. What a wacky market. I have retirement accounts that are very long term so I don't make big changes to those based on short term events. I also have taxable accounts and I feel somewhat limited on those because big sales mean big taxes. So I often end up making small changes at most.
  20. You could look into Personal Capital or Quicken. I have decided I will never use a tool that takes my login info though. There are a lot of concerns about security, usability and privacy. So I ended up back in Excel, where I have some pretty advanced spreadsheets. One of them does that but it assumes constant allocations over the past so many days and probably doesn't capture dividends correctly. I haven't yet thought it was worth the effort to capture all my buy/sell orders.
  21. I did like Olson, but nothing really changed with him since the trade. That article is a little overly bubbly.
  22. Between inflation, record sales, and the great resignation, companies are having a hard time filling jobs. Ask for a good salary.
  23. Looks like the S&P will be flirting with market correction territory tomorrow. Can’t say I’m excited to buy the dip due to rising interest rates and continued supply chain issues.
  24. First of several rate hikes is expected in about 2 months so get your loans in now. Also I feel like it really kills any upside in the broad market for the next year. The experts like to say that they are already priced in but I feel like the market more often prices in good news compared to bad news.
  25. Interesting. That is genius if the interest rate is lower than what is on the mortgage. If the mortgage rate is lower than the HELOC, I don't know if I agree. Plus it saves you the closing costs. I feel like I'm missing something here because HELOCs are (quick google) much higher than mortgages. Above 4% while my mortgage is 3% and a new mortgage would be 2.65%.
