  1. I think it happened a lot in the 2009-15 time frame but hasn’t been a theme in more recent years
  2. Glad we are willing to take a HS pitcher sort of early if the right guy is there
  3. Overall though I do think the FO kind of hates him as a high strikeout low utility guy, but they haven’t found a reason to get rid of him
  4. I've wanted this guy for a couple years now. I feel like they are probably buying high at this point, but if they can get it done without too much cost I'm all for it.
  5. They are probably trying to trade him (again, most likely).
  6. Chourio is completely floundering in AA this year. He’s going to plummet down the prospect lists. He doesn’t have the pedigree or enough history to be able to have a bad year and still stick as a top 10 prospect.
  7. Quero is looking like the real deal. Moving to AA and looking stronger than ever means he's prime to rocket up the prospect lists. Some of his underlying numbers are very strong, BB% K% BABIP. If he keeps up his pace he will be a top 3 org prospect pretty easily soon. These days for MiLB prospects I love to see low K rate, solid average, and if possible 5 to 10 HR per year which can often grow to 30 a few years into a MLB career so he checks all the boxes for me.
  8. There have been a lot of opportunities to acquire hard hitting 1B/3B/LF/DH over the past couple of years and they have chosen to go bargain bin shopping over and over again instead and get Contreras/Urias/Adames/etc instead. It’s clearly been an organizational strategy that has lead to a bottom 3 offense this year.
  9. I don’t know about that, the only bright spot right now is Wiemer and that’s debatable considering his .215/.282/.414 line. Can’t even claim Frelick or Chourio are coming to save us right now since they are both sporting below average lines in 2023.
  10. Revamp the entire system from the scouting department to the minor league development to the major league hitting coaching to the actual players on the roster
  11. Idk I checked FIP rankings on 2 different websites and they both had us at 25th with 4.72
  12. I was looking at stats and we are essentially bottom 5 in offense, bottom 5 in pitching (both bullpen and starters) and 1st in defense. So I don’t think it’s fair to say that the offense has been letting the pitching down. They both stink. Good defense, great luck and a relatively soft schedule is all we have going for us.
  13. Who cares about backlash if the team is in the tank anyway
  14. I agree he sucks but he’s probably the best lead off hitter we have against RHP. Against LHP they should probably bury him in the lineup somewhere or bring him off the bench.
  15. My main take away was, damn the offense is going to be frustrating again. I know, 1 game, questionable ump, but that was the most noticeable thing.
  16. It was interesting, I was reading an Athletic article today which said, to summarize, Brewers bullpen sucks and it's their biggest hole but at least they have 3 guys to trust, lumping Strezlecki in with Williams and Bush.
  17. Someone get me excited about one of the ML guys besides Williams and Bush
  18. It's not that I want 1 more lock down arem (although that would be nice), what I want is 1 or 2 more Boxberger type guys, just someone with 2-3 years of throwing the 7th inning at 4.00 ERA or something. 1-2 more guys that I know they won't be a gas can for a month and then DFAd.
  19. Man our bullpen sucks, I didn't realize how bad it was until I looked at the names that actually made the team there. Williams and Bush are the only 2 guys you can trust there, they both have their risks, but that's typical for bullpen arms. Besides those 2 everyone on the roster looks like a guy who should barely make the team.
  20. 2.2M guaranteed is a little bit of a screw up, that's the main one you can blame them for a little bit. This org doesn't care scout sunk cost.
  21. Houser at the moment has pretty low trade value. He’s not good enough as a 5th starter to interest a contender based on last years numbers. He doesn’t have enough upside to interest a rebuilding team as a reclamation project. His best place at least until the trade deadline is here in Milwaukee either in the bullpen or as rotation depth.

  23. If he signed a 5+ year contract today for some role with the team I would be happy but he’s had 1 foot out the door for years now and I don’t think he has done anything that significant in the past year
  24. Long term it might be good for people trying to watch the brewers but I think it would guarantee lower payroll for a long time. Since they apparently over paid for TV contracts.
  25. I wonder if Stearns has had less effect since moving out of the GM role. I'll miss him, the team will miss him, he's not going to be a lifer though so at this point I'd almost rather get it over with and get some compensation for losing him.
