    I didn’t want to start a new thread but I was wondering why there wasn’t talk about signing JD Martinez? He seems like the last FA hitter out there that would really impact the offense and isn’t completely out of our price range.

    I wish they dig deeper into the minors for lottery tickets. These pitchers aren’t going to do anything in the majors.

    Josh Bell has been very inconsistent in his career. I don't think Milwaukee is the place for him, We get the worst of all the hitters that come here. Sign me up for Abreu though. I think that guy is going to play until he's 40, doesn't need any coaching whatsoever and I don't even care if the power comes back if he hits .300 and takes walks.

    Trading 1 guy, I don't think it's enough to make it a rebuild. Trade 2 of them and get a top 5 draft pick and we can get there.

    I am usually a "trade them for prospects" kind of guy but I just don't see the point of it right now. The NL central is still winnable, the Cardinals aren't that good. 2 years of control is a long time. We could trade 1, finish with a draft pick around 15 and not really be set up to win in 3 years because of the weak rebuild move. If I am in charge of the Brewers I am still trying to win next year, I would even trade away prospects. I think next year is the year to potentially blow it up or at least force either a trade or an extension.

    There are a lot of scenarios that could play out with Burnes and Woodruff. If they get traded away, I think the most likely is they go out as a 3 month rental. I think the 2nd most likely is that they get traded in the off-season then quickly sign an extension.

    I don’t think there is any urgency to trade woodruff or burnes and I don’t think they will do it. 2 years of control vs. 1 year of control, I don’t think it affects the return that much. Trade some other pitcher and/or some MiLB outfielders instead. We have a lot of minor league ammo right now.

    Howell was interesting but honestly a long shot with his strikeout rate. I don't think he makes it in the majors.

    My opinion is strongly drifting into “screw this sport”. 2020 still fresh in my mind.

    I don't believe the Brewers and A's matchup prospect wise. The Brewers just don't have what the A's would want in an Olson trade. The Yankees could easily top anything the Brewers throw out there with just one prospect. I just don't see a realistic scenario where the A's trade Olson to the Brewers. I've probably read similar comments before in this thread and I really just disagree. The Yankees have Volpe (60FV, Fangraphs #12). He would be the Brewers #1 prospect, yes. I don't know if he's more valuable than the Brewers top 2, or top 3, or top 4, but it's somewhere in that range. Further, I don't think the Yankees even would want to trade Volpe for Olson, since he may be more valuable and I think they want him in NY. I don't think the As would want a 1 for 1 trade either, since the low payroll teams usually want multiple guys back to fill multiple positions. The Brewers have 2 guys with FV50, the Yankees have 4. The Brewers have 2 guys with FV45+, the Yankees again have 4. So it's really just a question of whether the Brewers are willing to trade 2-3 guys from their top 4, or do the Yankees want it more and will top it with 2-3 guys from their top 9 and a little more.

    What a wacky market. I have retirement accounts that are very long term so I don't make big changes to those based on short term events. I also have taxable accounts and I feel somewhat limited on those because big sales mean big taxes. So I often end up making small changes at most.

    I think Olson will get traded to a team wanting to extend him and I am sure no one thinks we can afford that cash

    I've seen a lot of guys like Quero come and go at this point. My opinion has turned into wake me when their crushing A+ at least. Although now that we have 3 highly rated young intl guys, maybe we'll finally hit with 1 of them.

    Now that this is starting to affect the season it feels much more real. I'm really disappointed that we are looking at our 2nd half assed season in 3 years. Probly gonna drop my fantasy baseball team because I don't care to draft a team that won't play again. The Brewers are interesting right now so I'm not swearing off baseball or anything but if I was a fan of a bad team I might be.

    They either rank Ashby as our #1 or put him around #6-7

    I don't think they will admit they need to tank to get talent around Soto. Also if I were them I would worry Soto will walk if they surround him with trash.
