    Mitchell is intriguing. #1 pick with speed, defense, power and contract room, who has performed when healthy. Tigers see the value. We are about to have a logjam and it's selling at a reasonable price for Mitchell. Chourio/Lara/Frelick/Lockridge outfield is not bad, but maybe we add a different rental piece. Adamczewski, Ragsdale, & Payne could be in the mix soon enough anyways.

    if thats the case and the brewers forced the dodgers to give up great prospects, then i say mission accomplished and move on. though im not that familiar with these prospects

    Turang's contract is up in 3 years. If he spends a year at each of AA and AAA and still raking, Turang can be flipped for prospects before his time is up

    my guess is Detroit wanted Henderson, Brewers said no. Brewers countered with Fischer plus Hardin or similar.

    Thats really unfortunate to lose your biggest bat. I would think a toe injury would be a fairly quick recovery. Hoping for Luke Adams.

    Mets would need to offer Peralta $23 million for a QO, which isnt a given for 5ish ERA with how much the fans are hating him and scrutinizing Stearns. Then they only need to have a prospect worth a 4th rounder, so an upper mid-level AA guy. I think O'Rae or Adams gets it done alone. Though the Brewers could maybe get another pitching prospect and hand over another bat.

    So, 2 months of struggling pitcher with a 5ish ERA in exchange for a first rounder who has been crushing it PLUS returning their top 100 prospect back to them. Makes perfect sense. I guess it makes sense if you are Fangraphs and have mistakenly put a value of 0 on Burke, so yeah, they will take him off our hands. But not if you realize he is having a 35/35 season and probably closer to how the Brewrs valued him than Fangraphs.

    someone said the quiet thing out loud. Same goes for a lot of "top 100" lists.

    I think the brewers have closed the gap this year on over-reliance on slap hitting and steals. They have regressed in base pressure, and since the callups have at least been lifting the balls out of the infield. Not saying they couldnt add some power, but seems more sustainable to me

    Right, some of these guys like Skubal are already a sunk cost and have to be moved. Its not like they can call up the dodgers and demand Made also. They have other great pieces to offer.

    I dont see how a RH bat moves the needle on this lineup. They currently have Chourio/Contreras/Vaughn/Lara/Pratt/Ortiz/Sanchez.. They can add Adams if they really are desperate to add a little pop. They arent going to remove Yelich, so where does the RH bat play on a team that prizes speed and defense? A TOR pitcher puts them in contention in a reduced-load playoff schedule. Miz can shut down teams. Harrison isnt far behind if he is healthy. Add one more and that's tough for an opponent to get past. Sproat goes to the pen where he can throw his best stuff. Also, the brewers are lopsided right now with positional depth in the upper minors and some guys need to be moved soon anyways.

    yeah its one thing to pull this against other NIL teams, but quite another to screw up a team's MLB draft. First real casualty of the NIL era if so

    Regarding Lara, this at-bat is a great example of why he impresses me. He just controls the strike zone. pitch 1: great eye, ump calls strike on a ball Pitch 2: same thing. Great take, bad call. Should be 2-0 but it’s 0-2 now. Doesn’t risk the challenge. most guys (veterans) are frustrated and hacking now. Gotta protect the plate. He lays off and gets the call. now the 4th is the first one actually in the strike zone and he laces a double. Give me more of that

    Definitely not. 1 - he adds value to this team 2 - the brewers are buyers, not sellers 3 - hamate surgery saps power so it’s not “selling high” 4 - if they want to move him, plenty of value in the offseason Makes no sense whatsoever

    If everyone is healthy, a trade would help clear some of this up, given what’s likely coming 2027. Frelick healthy would Definitely be in the mix and loved by staff. Solid 4th rotation option. Lockridge is unnecessary. But I think when frelick gets healthy and back to hitting, you probably trade him.

    By the sound of it, frelick did himself no favors by trying to tough it out and play through injury. One injury turning into a second and so on. I’m guessing we didn’t get to see the real frelick this year. If his resulting trade value is low, i would like to hang onto him at least long enough to turn things around. A healthy frelick to start 2027 is better than lockridge or Perkins. Up his value. He could still be a solid CF for someone and that’s worth something.

    already, there isnt anyone on the roster I want to see at the plaate more than Lara with 2 strikes

    Hard to do when the Brewers are managing pitch count for a young rotation to be healthy end of year. Happy to get 5 this time.

    I'd be surprised seeing Lara sent back, the way he has performed. Frelick would be tough to sell low on right now, but I could see a late return for a backup role followed by an offseason deal. If there is any reasonable value, I also have been thinking Lockridge in a package. Sell high after putting up a healthy 0.4 WAR in 28 games. We just dont need another RHB long term, and we have guys like Adamczewski and Ragsdale knocking in 2027/2028.

    the point was that they liked Gordon and we are lighter than expected in minor league pitching depth
