  2. if your angry fastball sits at triple digits, you shouldnt be sitting at 92 on your normal fastball
  3. that Sanchez challenge brought to you courtesy of Brice Turang
  4. im not asking for more stats. as a stat head in the real world, i understand well how to use stats to justify a position, whether or not they tell the real story. The real story is that a lot of arms are down from the initial roster, torching the depth: Woodruff, Priester, Henderson, Crow, Zerpa, Koenig, etc. And we have a lot of youth on the staff, both of which are a significant concern for a playoff run. The stats say they are doing a good job of managing the "now", but not necessarily for the posteason, where innings pitched, experience and TOR matters more. We saw last year, and many analysts predicted, how the team wasnt built for the postseason. That has improved this year, but not necessarily enough to surpass the Dodgers.
  5. its not really about that. in addition to the pitchers struggling with health and the farm getting depleted, its a question of matching the Dodgers in the postseason by having 3 aces to work with. I think we all can see this Brewers team is going to make the playoffs, barring some unusually bad health the second half. Not saying they will make a move for an arm, because its possible to win it all with what they have, but their odds go up pretty significantly this year if they can add one more big arm.
  6. imo Jett couldve been the one called up if not for the slump last month. Looks like a fire has been lit but timing sucks for him
  7. Brewers absolutely have a logjam of MLB OFs right now and the "problem" is only going to get worse. They should definitely be flipping these for pitchers, catching prospects, or a short-term 3B power bat. If they can get a decent return on Frelick or Badoo, you take it. They need to find a home for Lockridge, Lara, Braylon Payne, Adamczewski, Ragsdale and more No idea yet where Fischer or Burke end up.
  8. got all of the offense in this lineup. hopefully put up a crooked number tonight
  9. An Ortiz/Hamilton platoon at 3B is an improvement on both offense and defense over Rengifro. Pratt at SS is likely a slight upgrade over Ortiz/Hamilton with a high floor and some upside. incremental improvement regardless and the rest of the lineup is good enough for the postseason. If we are going to improve somewhere at the trade deadline, its to add another really strong pitcher.
  10. its been pretty agreed upon that Rengifro is a negative both on offense and defense right now. just hasnt put it together since the injury. Replacing him with Hamilton/Ortiz in a strict platoon solves that. Pratt's defense at SS is on par with Joey's but his bat has more upside. I expect we instantly upgrade the defense and the offense is neutral or better this year.
  11. Perhaps Dylan O Rae would be a good candidate to move.. bouncing back after the injury and could be a prospect again
  12. Kurtz wiht a legit shot at breaking Bonds record next year in Vegas
  13. yeah i wondered when Rengifro hobbled a bit, it was like like lets pull him now with a nice long injury
  14. Dodgers, Braves, Cards, Phillis all lose.. Cubs losing
  15. Payne's 12th HR in just 148 ABs. Seems like that was supposed to be one of the weaker parts of his game, so I have to think he is going to shoot up the rankings
  16. adding more credence to whether we got creative with the rotation vs the Dodgers. as in we pulled a Dodgers on them
  17. I just dont see Made on a playoff roster this year. His last few weeks show he is still adjusting to AA pitching. He isnt a major upgrade anywhere right now over Pratt/Williams/Hamilton/Ortiz. He isnt forcing the issue with his bat at the moment. The cost of starting his clock early is pricey and there is no concrete upside, and considerable downside of hampering development and losing cheap years from him.
  18. acquiring Skubal would also result in frequent sellouts the rest of the way. Between that and the merch sales increase, the money thing would likely take care of itself.
  19. Woody and Burnes were a great combo but i dont think they had enough pieces and depth for a legit shot. And Miz seems next level.
  20. Starting to wonder if having arguably the best pitcher in baseball for several years might result in a slight shift in the conservative FO strategy. Might not have a window like this once he is gone, given the value of aces in the postseason
  21. Not sure how exertion is measured but I’m guessing 105 qualifies
  22. They might do it just for him to get it off his bucket list with a low pc, not saying it’s wise
  23. I think losing 2 games in a row in a bandbox with your aces sitting out and bad umping is the ideal time to pronounce judgments regarding the impending futility of your team
