  1. I’m dead set on Houser not being a starter so obviously I agree here. Also a very weird trade made if he’s not given a chance to be in your rotation.
  2. Is the Crew really in the best shape of its life? Enjoy!
  3. Lucroy says Fiers told him of Astros scheme two years ago. Said A’s called MLB and league did nothing. When he saw Athletic report in November, thought “Oh boy.” Fire Manfred.
  4. Keston will play a lot but he won't and shouldn't play 162. We have enough depth on this team to keep guys fresh throughout the season and I fully expect Counsell to take advantage of that.
  5. The Brewers payroll won't be less than $100M and I wish I would stop seeing that posted.
  6. It’s only viewed as a “cut” in payroll if you thought that the $25 million that were paid to Moose and Grandal would be a regular thing. The Brewers have a $100M+ opening day payroll. Last year, because of a rare circumstance, they extended($120M) to get Moose and Grandal. Comparing this season to last is very, very foolish. I wonder if MA regrets doing it because now he has so many Brewers fans that don’t understand this.

  8. The entire complaint about payroll is ridiculous to me. If you didn't know Grandal and Moose were one-year type of situations, that's on you. The Brewers had an opportunity to snag them for a year at a reasonable price and did so. It wasn't going to happen two seasons in a row. But here they are, with a roster that can compete and looks to have some good depth. Can't wait for the season to begin!

  10. They can't afford him.
  11. I figured we would see a ton of different lineups even before Brock Holt was signed. I think we are going to see a ton of different lineups and players playing many different positions. It will be fun to see Counsell get to do his thing with this team.
  12. Great depth signing.
  13. They don't realize it because it probably isn't true. He has a starters arsenal, his K rate and BB rate looked good deeper into games. He just gave up a couple more HR than you'd like which isn't a huge surprise when you are in the process of being stretched out. Nothing he has done suggests he is a RP at this point. You can make that case with Peralta if you ignore what he has done this offseason since Peralta actually has a RP arsenal, but Houser throws I think its 5 different pitches, no reason he can't be a starter. People have just latched onto he is a RP because of like a 10 IP sample while being stretched out having a bad ERA. His xFIP as a starter last year was 3.71 and it was a 3.31 as a RP. He also has a minor league career to look at. His numbers were no bueno down there and most likely will continue to be at the MLB level. I’d rather start the Anderson’s of the world and let Houser be an elite pen arm.
  14. Houser isn’t a starter. He’d be a great bullpen arm though. I really wish they’d realize that and make the move.
  15. Braun/Garcia are going to be playing in RIGHTfield this season with Yelich heading to left. Braun will also play first base. Per TomH
  16. Swing change can be added as well.
  17. As much as some are trying to make this something, it isn’t. It’s the system in place and ALL teams play by it and players know this. This is a huge nothing-burger and I cannot believe what some are trying to make this. Hader, Counsell, Stearns... none of them are in the wrong.
  18. Baseball in 2020 and beyond is already tainted. You allow a team to cheat for 3 seasons and give them a slap on the wrist and allow the players to continue on their way. What a sham this entire sport has become. From turning a blind eye to steroids and then flip/flopping when it got out of control, to this situation and then you throw on top of that the economic disparity amongst the teams? Why the hell do I even watch or support any of this crap?
  19. Speak for yourself. He’s a great pitcher and the system isn’t working right in these circumstances.
  20. Why? That’s an even more relevant excuse and pretty legitimate. Trying to suspend players would have been a massive mess that would have been a terrible look for months. The season would have been plagued with appeals and potential suspensions. They opted to punish the leaders of the team for creating it and allowing it. This punishment is still miles and miles more extreme than most leagues would ever consider. So rather than do what’s hard and what was needed, take the easy way out? What these players have gotten away with is just downright madness.
  21. Fluke injury or not, I expect him to take a step back because it is tough to maintain the pace he was going at.
  22. If he wants to hurt his own value being a sour puss and pitch lousy, I guess go ahead.
  23. Waited too long to start trying to hit 3’s. Had to get desperate earlier.
  24. Burn the entire league to the ground. I'll go watch Indy League ball.
