  1. Let it be known that I got at least one prediction right after 15+ years on this forum!
  2. Win-now mode is something fans make up. We are in a position to win, yes. But that doesn’t mean that every single move made is for this season alone. That’s the toughest part of the job Stearns has. He has to have balance. Longevity for this organization is something we have never had. Establishing it, making the right moves to achieve it, is something I admire Stearns for attempting to do. While I would be down about this season if there is no pot of gold at the end of the rainbow (as I was while sitting in the stands watching the Dodgers celebrate last season), I also understand how hard it is for any tram to replicate success in this league. It doesn’t happen all too often. Too many variables in place. There is a lot of talented players across the league and things may just not go your way. That’s baseball in a nutshell. What I do know is the Brewers haven’t played their best baseball yet and they find themselves in the mix for winning the division. Hopefully something will click for them and we can make another run. But if it doesn’t happen, we will all survive and should feel really good about the direction of the Brewers.
  3. It’s not. It’s just expecting something and not seeing it happen. Many had way too high of expectations and it’s ruining a time in Brewers history for them. Maybe some re-runs of the early 2000’s would help during rain delays or something. I don't get this argument at all. Do we not deserve to expect great Brewer teams just because we had terrible teams 20 years ago so now we should just appreciate anything better? I said a similar thing a month ago or so, but record-wise, we are fine. There is nothing wrong with our record. Performance-wise, we are not fine. We have played about. 500 quality baseball and been fortunate to have enough bounces go our way to be better than that. It would be good to see them correct those performance issues because our record pace isn't sustainable with this kind of performance to date. As far as expectations, we are returning almost everyone from last year's team that missed the World Series by 1 game, only now we added Moose for the entire season instead of 2 months plus one of the best catchers in baseball. I think the high expectations are quite fair. Having expectations are great and should happen. Thinking that it was a for sure WS caliber team is another thing. Many breaks went the Brewers way a season ago. It was great. Stearns tried to off set some of the corrections by adding the players he did. This team can get hot again and make a run but it won’t be a shock if they don’t.

  5. My prediction is the Brewers end up with their annual White Sox bullpen acquisition which would likely be Álex Colomé this time around. This would be good!
  6. This I don’t understand why you guys watch with this type of attitude. I get being upset that they’re losing to some extent but I don’t quite get how watching baseball isn’t enjoyable.
  7. Are you aware Shaw has options, has an OPS like 100 points lower, and doesn’t play nearly the defense Cain does? Oh.
  8. Cain was one of the top WAR guys in baseball last year and now you don’t even want him in the lineup? His WAR is double that of Bryce Harper’s this season... I think you misread.
  9. They mean that he is ready as a batter to be brought up to the big league club. But there are a lot of guys that put up silly numbers in AAA and it doesn't transfer. Making these type of statements is a cop out to a real discussion because Cain will never be in AAA to prove this wrong. Hiura is a pure hitter that has proved himself capable at all levels so far. But calling Cain in decline right now is a bit premature. Lots of season left.
  10. This is pretty much what a lot of people said last year as well. Whole lot of season left. I like that you remind people of this on occasion. It wasn't all roses last year. It wasn't going to be this year. It is a marathon of a season. You will beat aces. You will lose to guys making their debut. The Brewers found production from unlikely sources last year and are going to need that to happen again this year. It's not easy to make the postseason. So many things lined up for the Brewers a season ago down the stretch and hopefully, it will happen again.
  11. No. No, they haven't. Hiura had a nice stint with us and that is all great and dandy. Hiura looks like he is going to be a nice hitter for us but to just pencil in his production as if it is a certain is pretty foolish.
  12. Counsell taking a play out of Braun's book and rolling up the pants today trying to get out of this funk. BTW, no homer and it should be an out at 3B because Hosmer is a dope.
  13. When do we cut Cain too?
  14. Yes, a couple others have illustrated my point now. I do think Hiura is going to be awesome. I also am not sure he’s ready to play second base. So I go both ways on this situation.
  15. The stats have shown that the hand the pitcher has thrown with, hasn’t made a difference in our offensive production. While Hiura may be our best RH bat (very debatable), it the least of the concerns for Stearns right now. Hook an co. need to figure out our pitchers or go find some arms down the road. Dubon making a case to come up as well. And he’s probably actually good at defense. I think I’d rather see him right now as he would provide some depth to Arcia as well.
