  1. At least he now has time to get his Tommy John done.
  2. Right now he would be a better option than Cain. We will see if he sustains this or not.
  3. Let me guess. You’re hoping this happens too? That way you can get on a forum and tell the world I told ya so?!! You are the one exaggerating things. This situation will play itself out. It will be okay, I promise.
  4. I think you are wildly overexagerating Hiura's defense. He's much better defensively at 2b than you're giving him credit. You're talking like he's Braun at 3b. Had 4 errors in 17 games or an error every 4.25 games. Braun made an error every 4.3 games at 3B. Now, I don’t think he’s Braun bad but I also don’t think he’s very good there. Needs work. He will get that playing regularly in AAA.
  5. I'm likely going to get destroyed for this opinion, but since they are sending Hiura down anyway I wouldn't hate seeing him get some reps at either first base or left field while back in San Antonio. I think having him with the flexibility to alternate between a couple of defensive positions for at least limited innings would be helpful late in the season. The obvious counter is that he hasn't exactly mastered the second base position yet, so maybe additional reps at 2B are too valuable to waste. I think you answered it yourself. Until he can play 2B reasonably well it’d be hard to have him get reps elsewhere.
  6. I thought he looked pretty good from what I've seen. I didn't see everything and saw none of his errors, but he's seemed generally capable. He has quick hands and good actions in general. Probably could use a few more reps to get more consistent, but that isn't much of a reason to send him down. He's better at 2b defensively than Moose/Shaw. This wasn’t the reason for the send down. Never said that. Just an observation. Saying he’s better than Shaw and moose might even be a stretch right now for him.
  7. One thing not mentioned is that Hiura has been poor defensively. Needs to be a focus to get to his max value as a player.
  8. Yep. This was my point. This team needs Shaw to get going. Keith talked about three guys struggling. Who are these three guys? Aguilar is the only one who is struggling and even he has done much better lately compared to his start. Just glad the Brewers FO doesn't make decisions so hastily. The three struggling guys are obviously Shaw/Aguilar/Thames. OPS of 335/708/686 OPS in the month of May. I don't care if 708 OPS is better than his start, it's still not good enough for 1b on a contender. Look what Rizzo/Freeman/Muncy/Hoskins are doing. We need a 1b doing something closer to that. If Hiura is going to rake at 2b, we don't necessarily NEED Shaw to get going. I don't think the very best version of Shaw is as good as Hiura, and right now he's at his very worst. Why send Hiura down to hope that Shaw can be maybe 90% as productive as Hiura has been? Also, a full season at this level for Hiura likely means even more improvement next year. He's a budding star, where as Shaw at his best is maybe the 4th or 5th best 3b in the NL. Your roster construction would rely on hoping a 22-year old carries you the rest of the year. Mine would be to get as many of our players going as possible. I'll take my chances that the latter would be in the best interest for the Brewers. Also, Thames has an OPS of .850. To say that he is struggling is just a downright lie.

  10. I'm good with it if they send Hiura down. He won't be there long if they do. Gotta get Shaw back at it. He's very important to this team going forward. If they can finagle the roster to keep them all up and use fewer pitchers, great. Otherwise, it'll work itself out eventually. I love log jams. Great problems to have. Never in my life have I seen a roster built where we have jams just about everywhere. Sometimes I think we are way more dramatic about these situations than the Brewers are.
  11. I'm not sure what this is. I'm not sure either, but it's the lineup thread and I'm in a posting mood and it actually makes sense right now... I don't really think it SHOULD be done, but it would be interesting. Lol, I like it.
  12. Yes, we lost that game. It wasn't an indication of the series as a whole. Yelich, Braun, Moose to name a few went cold. It happens. And it is still a terrible way to go about making decisions on a team with using one game. We outscored the team you keep using as a "superior" team to us. The Dodgers were blanked in one of the games. Do they need to find more "professional" hitters too? Actually, Soria and Jeffress are a big reason we didn't make the WS. They were awful. Probably more so than a few of our bats going cold (Braun, Moose, Yeli) You make some good points around here at times. But you are posting about 15 times a day right now and most of it is the same message, on every thread we have in the forum. You haven't picked up on how annoying you have been as a poster. You continue to go down the same road, even when your schtick falls apart, you double down on it. For me, you are the worst type of fan. You think the Brewers owe you something and even when they are really, really good. You don't even enjoy it. The Brewers do rely on the homer to score more than some teams but they are good at it and that is how they are built. The same man you keep saying will be looking for a different type of hitter, built this team you watch every single day. And while they have struggled with a man on 3rd with less than 2 outs, they have also been great with runners in scoring position. I'd be willing to bet that they will get better at the first part and probably remain competent with RISP. PITCHING is and has been the issue but even that is beginning to settle in now, without having to break the bank and hit the market.
  13. Exactly!!! Any comment on the Brewers out scoring the Dodgers in the NLCS a season ago? Does that change the agenda?
  14. We lost to the dodgers because we couldn’t hit their pitchers. Period. Our pitching, especially our pen almost won the series despite our lack of offense. Again, im confident Stearns will add a quality disciplined bat, hopefully that will make a difference in the playoffs. NLCS: 7 Games Brewers scored 24. Dodgers scored 23.
  15. huh? He thinks it’s bar league softball and that these hitters should be able to hit a pitch on the inside corner to the right side
  16. Glad the Brewers didn’t take my advice and sit Braun today. Nice to see the slump ending. Thames making Aguilar obsolete would be just fine with me.
  17. And I’ll be there. Nice!
  18. It’s going to be hard to go back to a regular (poor) hitting catcher next year. It’s been so nice to have a stud offensively.
  19. Not sure they’ll want to part with him. They have two young, possibly productive, bats that are controlled for awhile. Smith can play LF so that helps them out.
