    I don’t think anyone is normalizing it. It’s stupidity at its best. But the media and certain people are going to run with this story and make it much more than it really appears to be.

    I think if he wanted to be in Philly, he would have already signed. Seems to be using them as leverage for other deals.

    I've bagged on him for his play but he seems like a great kid and a hard worker. Hopefully he will find a fit elsewhere and finish out his time as a college athlete.

    This just isn’t true. Soreness is one thing. Pain is another. These muscles are being retrained. There will be bumps.

    It will come down to how badly they want to actually move him. Sure sounds like they do and that he has no interest in being in that uniform anymore. Those two things drive down the price a bit even on a great player. If Packers 30th isn’t enough, move on.

    My guess is SD gets Dallas if Phillies get Harper.

    If they go eight batters in NL then it should be in AL also.

    If the Brewers get off to a good start, the season will be a fun one to follow. If they are sluggish, the schedule could bury them from the start. Can't wait to get started on it. We don't always have these opportunities in front of us. Fun stuff!

    Imagine that, those that are crazy against Machado are calling this a terrible deal for the Padres. This just in, water is still wet.

    The idea that the Brewers are hamstrung by payroll restrictions seems like its a largely made-up idea. No it is real, long term payroll is a concern. 1 year deals, not so much. Correct. These deals don’t get done if they are multiple year things. He’s smart. He sees the market is favoring the Brewers right now and they are pouncing as it may never be like this again.

    I am now confused at what the holdup was. If this deal was on the table for a while, he should've signed weeks ago.

    Bobby Q BBQ- I have not been to a ton of places in Phoenix but I absolutely loved this place. Great food and uniqueness to the ambiance.

    I just like another team signing top tier free agents. Padres have a good system...window is now open for them. I think that is it. Nice to see a team you usually don't see in the mix.

    Another one year deal? If DS gets Dallas to sign a one-year deal you might as well just put him in the HOF the next day.
