  1. To be fair, the Cardinals need to make quite a few moves to get better while the Cubs are in a different place than the Brewers.
  2. So far, booooooorrrrrriiinnnnggggg! The Winter Meetings (other than the pre-Stanton deal) have just been a dud so far.
  3. I think the point is, we won't know until he is given the opportunity to do so.
  4. Oh, my. What? That's some solid analysis right there. You'd be doing teams a favor by starting Hader. His stuff wouldn't be so lethal the 2nd or 3rd time you saw him in a game. He'd also face tons of rhb's. Very few teams lack for rhb's and it's the easier side of a platoon to fill. They'd be lining up their rhb's for Hader's starts. It would be a waste of what makes him great. This would have played better in my mind had you not tried to compare it to the Badgers going in with the gameplan of dropping Hornibrook back 50 times because they were stacking against the run lol. I disagree with it. I think you let your special arms like Hader try to be as dominant for as long as they possibly can in a game. Being a starter, he can do that. I'm in the camp that believes he's our best chance, in a long.. long time, to actually produce TOR numbers. We've waited so long to have an arm as special as his and for us to limit him at the age that he is at just makes no sense to me. Could be looking at the next Randy Johnson. And if that fails(in 2-3 years), then stick him back in the pen and use him there.
  5. [sarcasm]Not if we sign JD Martinez to replace him.[/sarcasm]
  6. I see it a different way. The called him up because of what they thought of him and didn't use him all that much because he was coming off an injury and hadn't pitched since 2014.
  7. Oh, my. What?
  8. And here is why people get upset with you. You've done a great job proving everyone's point. But with your point, if they could get him for ultra cheap or an invite to camp... sign me up. Ya just never know with relievers.
  9. Because in the history of the MLB, a player has never had a bad season to only bounce back the following year. I get that you hate him because he took away your precious Scooter Gennett but you definitely go off the deep end pretending he has no value and that there is no chance he could rebound and be a good player for the Brewers this upcoming season. Your judgment is clouded on this one quite a bit. You may turn out to be right that Villar just stinks and the Brewers should send him to Timbuktu but the fact that you can't even see the other side of this really shows something.
  10. Just not sure Manaea is enough for Santana. I mean we really could be giving away the next big bat. This guy with the age that he is at just started finding his cruise control.
  11. He just doesn’t make sense. Old guy that is limited at 1B, slow and is a good hitter. Not young. Expensive. Just doesn’t add up.
  12. Nathan Orf and Jesus Aguilar. There I solved the Mets needs.
  13. King and Trice. Wowzers. Going to be a long, long year.
  14. Harvey is projected to be due $6 million for 1 season. He's not someone I'd bother taking a risk on given that we'd lose him anyways if he did get back to his old self this year, but it's not like we'd be taking on Jordan Zimmermann here. If the Mets were giving Harvey away for a bag of baseballs and we had to pay $6 million for him, though...sign me up. And that's coming from someone who thinks as stated above that he's probably gone anyways after 2018 if it goes well for him. I'd pay that money to find out if he gets his velocity back in a contract year. Brewers get: Harvey, $4million, and Wilmer Florez's tears Mets get: Clint Coulter
  15. Sure, if they pick up 80% of his salary and take mid to lower prospects in return. If not, not thanks.
  16. They fired their dinosaur when it was time. They also don't blow games or give up record setting performances in the playoffs. LeBeau resigned but it still doesn't answer the question about why so many want to see the entire organization scrapped and begin anew. McCarthy has had so much success but Packers fans believe there is better out there. It's truly amazing to me how spoiled a fan base can get.
  17. Khris Davis? Never heard of her. I’m hoping we can move Broxton for something good. Solves the logjam a bit and he just K’s way too much for my taste. Gotta get on base. With perez staying he has to be our only low OBP guy, hopefully.
  18. I don’t hear many Steelers people wanting Mike Tomlin to be fired. He has a HOF QB and only one SB.
  19. Weird, he played well when they were forced to run the spread. Stop trying to make him something he is not.
  20. I don't understand why Schwarber is worth anything more than Broxton or Villar. He can't hit and doesn't have a position. Why do Cub fans think this guy is worth a haul? He’s 24 years old and popped 30 bombs in under 500 plate appearances a year ago. That alone is more intriguing than a Broxton or Villar. Especially if you think he can play first base.
  21. I haven't seen much on this upcoming recruiting class but it would be great if they could stack up another couple four-stars to go along with those three because they are going to need them.
  22. The beginning to this season really has me wondering about the future of Badgers basketball. Already lost out on a game changer in Herro and there really doesn't look like there is much talent with this team. I feel bad for Happ. He will most likely end his career trying to score at will just to keep this team in games. Maybe Gard wasn't the guy for the job.
  23. The conspiracy theory guy in me said he and Stanton drummed up discussion with STL and SFG just to make it look like NYY was the third option in this. Jeter couldn’t go directly to the Yankees first so he had to get some others involved.
  24. I like it. Just another great player out of the NL.
  25. This post. Agreed.
