  1. Substitute Gallardo for Hader, Gallardo to the pen. That makes more sense. Just have the feeling that it is not going to be that though. That they'll keep Hader pen't up. Extremely annoying to continue down this road of pitching guys that have little to no upside.
  2. 1. Anderson 2. Davies 3. Chacin 4. Woodruff 5. Gallardo Barf. This offseason is a nightmare so far for me.
  3. It was just a simple answer to the question that is titled in the thread. If you don't care for it, move on. Amazing what we get hung up on around here. I've already stated that I am good with Stearns and his approach but that doesn't mean I have a bunch of patience for losing. Those ideas can live within the same world. I'm not mad at you man, but you are allowed to have an opinion on something but I have to move on and not give my own? Super great. Thanks! The tone of the bolded part came off that way to me. Felt as though you were trying to curb my thoughts on the topic of this thread by telling me they didn't belong here. If you weren't, no harm, no foul. All opinions are welcome, that was the point of the response back to you.

  5. For sure. I discuss this with friends of large market teams all the time that just don't get it. Any mistake that the Brewers make is amplified because the resources of the MLB is nowhere close to equal. I'm not blind to that at all. It's why Stearns approach is probably for the best. But I just want to win. I want to stop being a doormat to other franchises. I think the people of Wisconsin would go crazy if we figured out a way to win one and contend for awhile. I get so aggravated when I see these national sportswriters go on facebook/twitter and say a salary cap wouldn't help with competitive balance, it would just help greedy owners pocket extra money. I mean, are they just that stupid? Don't they find it a bit strange that only a handful of teams sign all the best free agents every year? And until recently ended up with the best international free agents and prospects? Do they wonder why the yankees/dodgers/red sox/cubs/etc are consistently in the playoffs while most of the small markets can go extended stretches of time without making the playoffs? I know I strayed a bit off topic, but the big market advantage is frustrating enough...I don't want to see national sportswriters trying to say it isn't an advantage. Yeah its a mixture of that and the fact that they just don't care. I bet they hate when a small market team does well. They want to be in those bigger cities, covering those big names. They don't want to be in Milwaukee talking about how much beer Wisconsin residents consume on a daily average. lol
  6. I guess I don't understand either. Should we blame David Stearns for our lack of success in the late 90's when Stearns was 12-13 years old? Generally speaking, sure we can be tired of 30+ years of a lot of nothing as fans.... but that has nothing to do with our current GM or current situation and using that as a base for being upset for not going after a free agent(s), if you are implying that, is kind of silly I think. If you are not implying that, then this is the wrong forum for that thought. This is a rumor and proposal board. General venting should be done elsewhere. 8. I'm talking about actually winning. Getting to the postseason more than four times would be great. And eventually actually winning a World Series. I get being happy with last season, I am. But to pretend like Brewers fans should just be alright with how things have gone over the course of the franchise is just nuts to me. I don't think anyone is "alright" with only 4 post-season appearances and no WS title. Not sure where that notion is coming from, I don't get that impression from anyone here. In fact, this is exactly why some of us don't want to make the same mistakes that led to this dismal history. Stearns is building a team that can contend consistently, and win at least one WS. He is not perfect, but they are definitely marching in the right direction. My quote directly relates to the title of the thread. I'm not sure how anyone has the patience for this franchise anymore. That should have gone out the window decades ago. I'm not advocating for selling off everyone and trying to win a World Series this season but I have no more patience for being a minor league club to the rest of the big league teams. I'm good with Stearns. I think he's done a fine job so far. But that doesn't mean I have any more patience for excuses and more losing.
  9. They just outperformed their PECOTA projection by ten games and missed the playoffs by a game. What are you talking about? I'm talking about actually winning. 10. I only had the players I did in mine because if they’re looking at s 2020-2022 window, those prospects would fit that better. If they did take on those prospect I listed out, even if we had to add one more, we could then use Brinson to target a TOR type pitcher. Then we would really have something.
  11. Maybe they have more interest in Clark or Ray + then. Brewers Get: Christian Yelich, JT Realmuto, Kyle Barraclough Marlins Get: Corey Ray, Josh Pennington, Mario Feliciano, Trey Supak, Freddy Peralta.
  12. I understand trading for Realmuto - having a borderline elite catcher for at least 3 more years is very enticing. I also understand wanting Yelich, he is a fantastic young player. But I can't understand why people want to trade our best prospect, from our most crowded and talented position, for another outfielder. It is clear that we are overstocked in the OF, and we are eventually going to have to trade some of those players away - why would we want to bring back another OF when we could use that depth to address a real position of need like SP or reliever. For me, I don’t believe in Brinson. Injury prone and I’d rather trade high on him now. I also don’t see a glut of OF’s. There might end up being one but I don’t see it. Getting Yelich would allow us to really shop Santana if the deal was right. I’m a big believer that Yelich and Realmuto would be studs at Miller Park.
  13. It's okay to bring up the splits again as the point is a good one. If we got this guy and extended him. We could have our catching position solved and have elite talent there for a few years. What a get this could be if Stearns has something up his sleeve.
  14. As a Brewers fan, if you haven't lost your patience already, when will you? This team has done nothing but lose. We can talk about staying on course with the plan and yada-yada-yada. It's all great and hope it works out but patience? Meh, that went out the window a long time ago.
  15. Maybe it is just the personnel but it just seems like they've went away from an offense that includes the tight end. This week was also glaring for me that maybe Rodgers is a bit selfish when running our offense. Only 13 rushing attempts? That's just flat out unacceptable. We finally have a two-headed monster back there and we could have done a way better job at limiting the time our defense had to be on the field if we chose to run a game plan to do so. Maybe we do need a different offensive coach. One that would tell Rodgers to get the ball out of his hands, on time, and to rely more on the run game to churn that clock. Seems to be working in places like Philly, LA, Jax, etc...
  16. Don't really agree with this. While Cook wasn't particularly productive last year most of that was from him missing almost half the season. Once he was back and acclimated Rodgers was looking to him often. He got a whopping 32 targets in 3 playoff games. I remember when Jermichael Finley was here Rodgers would look for him almost to a fault. I think the lack of TE production the last few years has a lot more to do with us not having good TE's than Rodgers not being willing to utilize them. Lance Kendricks is going on to his worst statistical year, by far, with the the best QB he's played with, by far.
  17. What is the point of signing/drafting a tight end if Rodgers doesn't use them? If I was a decent tight end in this league I wouldn't give Rodgers a second look. I also wouldn't sign here if I was a guy like Bell. Rodgers doesn't want a running game and rarely throws the ball to them either. It's a wide receiver or bust system. Rodgers and McCarthy only have themselves to blame for that.
  18. Pitching. Give them the output even the Brewers got in that department and they’re probably a playoff team a year ago. And they tragically lost their cy young level ace which didn't help. Agreed. I mentioned it in a previous post that if that didn't occur, they might be making moves to bolster that teams roster rather than tearing it down.
  19. Pitching. Give them the output even the Brewers got in that department and they’re probably a playoff team a year ago.
  20. If the Marlins don't want Pina(age), maybe they would entertain a guy like Nottingham, Bandy, Susac as guys they value. Not talking straight up but in terms of replacing Realmuto.
  21. [sarcasm]Janis wouldn't have fumbled the game away yesterday. Probably would have housed it.[/sarcasm]
  22. Sign him, buy out his last two years of Arby and tack on another year or two worth some real money to the guy. We could get him under contract until he's 30 years old and then he can go out and get another big payday as he leads us to our first World Series trophy.
  23. But does GB have more miscommunication than other teams? Not sure. It just seems to happen quite frequently. Seems as though (and this could be extreme) once a game some guy flies wide open for a touchdown and 2-3 players look at each other like they have no idea who was supposed to cover them.
  24. I would love it if the Brewers went after this guy. They probably won't but he would be a great get for them. Go get Realmuto and Kyle Barraclough. Both would be great additions to this team.
  25. What I don't like is that there always seems to be miscommunication. Are the players we draft dumb? Is Capers system too complicated? Are other offenses just knowing exactly what to do against our schemes? All I know is that it happens way too often and a lot of the times it's not our rookies doing it. (Yes, I know it was Jones yesterday)
