  1. that was fun to watch. Nice job by Pinto to keep his focus. c'mon Fish. Do some damage in extras!
  2. boy, that would make Milwaukee winning the World Series even that much more sweet. Maybe we'd be referred to as "Bushville" like in '57. Although, this time it could mean something extra if, say, Dave Bush, threw a CG shutout to clinch the title or something.
  3. I know I posted in some other thread about getting to listen to Vin Scully the other day, but this line is very prevalent to him. He's alone in the television booth and I swear he talked nearly constantly! I never noticed it before with Vin but that afternoon game in Colorado this week he rambled on and on and on about a player, the sky, the crowd, a pop fly ball, you name it. Seriously, there was next to no dead air because he was talking all the time. By himself.
  4. that's awesome. but really bad filming, even for a bootleg.
  5. I was going to get you something, Brian, but I spent nearly $200 at the Cafepress store yesterday. So, I guess, in a way, I DID get you something. Happy Birthday to you, colbyjack, and any others out there. Where's russ to give us the odds of two brewerfan.net administrators having their birthday on the same day? Any two members having a birthday on the same day, odds are pretty normal; but 2 admins? That's gotta be a bit more interesting.
  6. I guess they changed their minds. They were having some bad server problems the other day, so maybe they had to post-pone due to problems with their servers.
  7. yeah, but I kinda missed that version of brewerfan.net. It's the fan forum that I grew up with and loved. Not seeing it around for nearly 2 weeks was just a blow to my day-to-day existence.
  8. now, I don't know what your posting habits there were in the past, but that's pretty classless to ban you for that. I'm sure somebody from their site was monitoring this site, saw your comment and tattle-tailed on you. Jeepers, how childish.
  9. jeepers, Nady is on, what his 4th team already?
  10. I'm not sure if I should post this here or at LambeauLeap (I'll probably post in both places just in case), but I've been looking for quite some time for a men's dress shirt in the Packer's gold color. Packer Pro Shop.com doesn't have any dress shirts for the most part (I find this terribly surprising) and some other sites that I've looked at have "yellow" shirts but it's hard to tell if they really are a "Packer" yellow or not (they sure look to be too pale, in my opinion). I'm not looking into pin-striped or yellow-trim; I'm looking for the solid yellow color in a dress shirt. Can anybody give some help out in this avenue? Maybe you've seen some around someplace? Thanks in advance!
  11. I would also expect a few more of these to come, since some other matchups aren't too favorable for FOX, not to mention the "flex" schedule the final 2-3 Saturdays and ESPN picking games on Wednesday nights as well as probably other nights as the season draws to a close.
  12. in regard to the small sample size shirts for young ones, any chance that those will still be available for many years? We don't have kids (yet) but would love to have them for our children someday. Just trying to save a few bucks now if they'll definitely be available at some point years down the line.
  13. no offense, but can we get through the Astros series first?
  14. no problem at all with Brian making no-hitter comments. none. I'm guessing that we're at 60+ posts about this topic because there has really been very little to vent about on the field and, thus, little reason to use the vent thread lately. And, yes, the Brewers announcers have got to be top 5 in the majors. It's hard for us Extra Inning people to say that to non-Extra inning people and get them to believe, but it really is true.
  15. I still find it funny that Torres considered retiring before/during spring training. Sure would have missed one heck of a season (thus far).
  16. quick question: why are some people posting their incredulousness about being in a playoff race? We were in one last year Is it incredible that it's happening two seasons in row? Okay, maybe that is what is hard to believe. I know there is excitement but some of the posts that I read make it sound like they can't believe their eyes and ears because they NEVER thought they'd see it happen. It just sounds "bandwagony" to me. (please note: I am not calling anyone here a bandwagon fan.)
  17. the team better get a standing ovation when they take the field. Should be fun to watch.
  18. The Brewers were the top story on Sportscenter. Doesn't happen often.
  19. for all those thinking the "poor St. Louis fans" thoughts, I feel it's payback for 1998-2007 when the Cards pretty much manhandled the Brewers and us Brewer fans had to suffer through it too.
  20. I had to explain this one to my wife. She had never heard of the burger prediction by George Webb before. And she was in Appleton in '87!
  21. are you kidding? They pack Lambeau Field for a stupid intra-squad scrimmage every year. Packed! They have to turn people away. The Brewers will not be a "big deal" in polls until at least September and probably not even until the Opening Day of football season is over.
  22. I think this was MVP Baseball 2004 There is a known glitch in that game called "the lefty glitch" in which it is darn near impossible to hit homers with left-handed hitters. Consequently, this is also the game that the Chad Moellers of the world were hitting 20+ bombs per season, every season.
  23. the logo on that Winkelsas card looks airbrushed on his hat, like they used to do in the old days.
  24. c'mon, now! I thought we established this two years ago! it's Chris Capuano! Do we really need to go through the "ace" discussion again?!?! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  25. JJ looks like a completely different person in that photo compared to today. And that was only 2006!
