  1. I live in AZ and didn't get mine yet, for what it's worth.
  2. Best part of this gif is the security guard. Like the draw for both teams to get to the Sweet 16 at least. Henderson seems like some of the scorers that UW has bottled up in recent years in the tourney. He shoots over ten threes a game! And then the chance to knock out Kansas State for the third time in something like seven years. Nah, the best part is the dude with the beard and glasses sitting at the table.
  3. huh. Badgers are in the Big Ten Tournament Championship Game. Didn't see that one coming.
  4. they said tonight that Wright didn't play because Mets officials said he couldn't play, due to a tweaking of an injury or something. It was something very minor but the Mets didn't want any chances taken. It had nothing to do with Torre.
  5. okay, so the final score on ESPN and everywhere was wrong in that they did play all 9, not just 8. Thanks for the clarification. Got back to the hotel and we all were like, "huh?!?!?"
  6. I was at the game today but left after the 8th inning. Why'd they stop playing after 8??? I had no idea until we got back walking to our hotel that it was an 8 inning final. Was it because of the Greinke scratch and the Dodgers had nobody else to pitch?
  7. "she is . . . gone!" and "There she goes!" come to mind. But they seem to be "forced" signature calls, like he's trying to put his mark on that call but even he is unsure of the sound of it.
  8. that is, actually, a fantastic ticket promotion. Really! I would jump on that in addition to the 20-game plan we already buy (for other people, darn them!) Gifting is so awesome Man, what a great idea. I would think other teams will steal this idea as well. Unless the Brewers stole the idea from other teams.
  9. boy, if he were to leave I'd be very disappointed. I wouldn't be mad or anything but kind of let down. He's an incredible asset for the team although he doesn't do a single thing to help the team win a ballgame. I shudder to think who we'd get if he left, knowing what's out there.
  10. my "Braun as whipping boy" prediction looks better by the day. seriously, this is terrible news, if true. Since this guy has been right before, he has to have some credibility which means bad things for the Crew.
  11. good to hear about the camp advice. Also, I've been to the Desert Museum so many times with my wife, I think we are the primary donors for an exhibit. She loves it there and has me take all the pictures. It's fun and something different to do, indeed.
  12. I just have to say, ever since I saw the thread title a few days ago I keep picturing Mets' security escorting Marcum off the premises or something like Willie Mays Hayes waking up in the parking lot.
  13. Ryan Braun. Reason? Why not? Every else picks on players as "whipping boys" for their own reasons. I might as well just name a player and say he's my "whipping boy" as well.
  14. I loved the original COD. And it's expansion pack. And COD 2. And then the game started being focused on multiplayer more than single player and I haven't played any of the others. I own them on my steam account (I am PC exclusive, by the way) but haven't played them yet. Not sure when I will. It certainly won't be for any multiplayer.
  15. knowing a lot can change in spring training . . . . Record: 85-76 (1 rainout that won't be made up--I think I predict this every year) Finish: 2nd, but no wild card, finish 6 out of WC All Stars: Braun, Weeks, Aoki Surprises: Mike Gonzalez, Tom Gorzellany, heck the entire bullpen. Hunter Morris, too. Disappointments: A-Ram, Segura (relatively speaking), Narveson World Series: Nationals vs. Tigers, who lose another one.
  16. first game of the year to listen to bits and pieces on the internet from my classroom. YAY!
  17. I haven't heard anything about it. In my opinion, Maryvale is only a "problem" after dark. During the daytime, it seems to be, for better or worst, just fine. The Brewers picked Maryvale because they wanted to get out of Chandler so bad. I think the team was told from City of Maryvale officials that they would be helping to launch a plan to better their community and rejuvenate things. I don't know how well that plan has really worked, though. Personally, I think the Brewers should be spending money on the team itself rather than spending big bucks on a new place for spring training.
  18. wow. Start to finish win for Bucky over the Buckeyes. And the only 5-, 6-, or 7-minute stretch without a field goal belonged to the opposition for once. Nice win!
  19. man, that was a pretty dang good game. From both teams. And the officials. That's how basketball should be played.
  20. My educated guess is that Braun's team of lawyers is doing exactly that right now. But it might take a few days because they want to close up every loophole that they can and get it done correctly the first time.
  21. I'm sure some of you have seen this before, but in case you haven't . . . .
  22. I've got Extra Innings as well. I just re-read my post and realize that I forgot to put that in there, although I thought that I had. My apologies.
  23. I have DirecTV has well for the last 12 years. Having the FSN sports pack doesn't do you any good when it comes to watching Brewers games. They will be blacked out on your FSN-WI channel or other FSN channel at start time. The only way to watch them is to have Extra Innings. Don't get me wrong, the sports pack is great for Wisconsin sports coverage, just not live MLB games. This is untrue. I live in AZ and we watch all the Brewers game on channel 669-1, pre- and post-game as well. The only FSN-WI games that get blacked out, for us, are MIL-ARZ games because we can watch them on our "normal" home market channel of FSN-AZ. We never (well, almost never) watch the Brewers on a 700 channel. Of course, perhaps the rules are different for other parts of the country. I don't know. So perhaps for you, lcbj68c, this does occur. But for someone in Texas, like the OP, I'd guess that he'd have little trouble getting every Brewer game on 669-1 as well.
  24. I don't believe he told me that they do it on purpose. I think that it just ends up that way because there are so many companies, large and small, that buy a ticket package to use to woo clients or potential clients. Regardless, the odds are not in an individual's favor. Oh, well. Even if I won, I'd likely not be able to cash in, being in AZ full-time.
  25. maybe Gamel will take advantage of the break he has received. I hope so.
