  1. I saw in Entertainment Weekly last week that they renewed it for a second season with 13 episodes.
  2. on Sunday night after the NBC game, I turned on ESPN to see some highlights of the afternoon's games. Of course, highlights weren't on, but instead it was PatriotCenter, as all they did, for a half hour straight, was talk about New England's win and interview Belichek, Brady, some other guys, etc. Finally, they went to highlights. Of course, by then I was falling asleep in bed. Maybe they do that for every Sunday night game, but, somehow, I doubt it.
  3. hawing, Nate was out sick today when I tried to call to renew my tickets and he didn't sound that great on his message so who knows when he'll be around. Just a heads up.
  4. is this one of those ballots in which only 1 nominee can be named the winner each time they vote or can they vote in more than one? If so, my list would start and end with Tommy John. If multiple winners are allowed, I'd vote for Tommy John and Ted Simmons for sure, and then I could probably have my arm twisted to vote for Billy Martin (he was a pretty decent player, too, which is rare for manager types) and Marvin Miller.
  5. Johnny Damon, Part Deux Blame these edits on my wife, the French "expert" in the household, for telling me the wrong spelling. I had "Johnny Damon, Part God" up at first.
  6. Wow, Washburn is 36 ?!?!?! Sure doesn't seem like it. I guess if the Brewers could get him cheap I'd be for it.
  7. egads, there's 151 days until Opening Day. That just makes me sad.
  8. That's really too bad. I hadn't heard much about him in several years. Wonder if he had been having problems for a while or what. RIP Sparky.
  9. Finally got to it tonight. I never read the originals but I'm a sucker for a show like this. Very nicely done, I must say. I'll be back for more. Will every episode be an hour and a half?
  10. Thanks, DKM4Boston, for the link to that wonderful product. I've been wondering for a while now if there was such a thing.
  11. they showed a young Yankee fan with his hands on his head and the beginnings of tears in his eyes as A-Rod came to the plate. I almost wanted to punch him right through my television. Get over it, kid.
  12. can't wait to get mine! the "extras" seem nice. The media guide I'll get down in Maryvale, I guess. Thanks for the heads up, though, so I'm looking for it the rest of the week.
  13. The Rangers dominated the LCS for 7 innings. Then the Yankees rolled over the Rangers. I'm calling the series over right now. Yankees in 4--Rangers are done.
  14. nice start for the Rangers. No way CC goes 9 innings tonight, right???
  15. I'll be honest, but none of those names really scare me and/or make me scream, "NOOOOOOOO!" At least he's looking at a bunch of guys and trying to find THE right guy for this job. Plus, Doug's not just sitting there like many people think he is.
  16. they said on the TV broadcast tonight that it had never happened in LDS history (short as it is.) I wonder if it's ever happened in the LCS or WS?
  17. That pretty much is in the hands of the broadcast's producer (Kent Summerfeld, for instance) to balance out their sound. I know exactly what you're talking about, though, as I've listened to Jim on MLB radio a bunch of times this season. They've really dipped his lows below the median line on the mixer. Cory Provus is the opposite. His audio contains very little bass and always sounds too tinny to my ears.
  18. JJ Hardy with a double! CC getting smoked here in the 2nd! Down with the Yankees!!!!
  19. Twins over Yankees in five Rays over Rangers in five Giants over Braves in four Phillies over Reds in three Twins over Rays in six Phillies over Giants in five Phillies over Twins in five. I hope that the playoffs are fun to watch.
  20. that looks like Todd Ritchie. Couldn't have been him.
  21. good choice. I'm planning on doing the same thing in a couple of years. I've heard it's lots of fun, unless you screw something up.
  22. only 109, but I'm tired and I quit with about 6 minutes to go. You look through those lineups and you can easily see why the Brewers sucked for so long. There are AAA lineups today that are better than some of those.
  23. with those specs, I would assume that you'll be fine for games for a good 1-2 years. After that, you'll still be able to game on it, but the newer games will have to be played with all the video settings set to low or even off. My system is on that stage. Games that came out when I got the system and about 2 years afterward have worked flawlessly. But when I tried the Mafia II demo last month, I had to set it to the lowest resolution (640x480) with all other settings at low/off to get anything remotely close to good FPS on FRAPS. Loved the demo, but it looked like crap. Unfortunately, I'm still a good 2-3 years from upgrading. Nuts.
  24. this is like watching the 3rd storyline part of an episode of CSI:Milwaukee. Can't wait to see how it turns out.
