  1. I know this the Office thread but I have to comment on this. Last night was one of the first times that I really laughed at this show. "I'm on the clock for another hour. Who wants to hear quotes from 'Batman'?" That one made me roll. A first for this show. Only took all of season one and 15 minutes into season 2 to obtain that level of funny for me.
  2. Well, season 7 is under way, so probably should make another topic. Might not be as much interest this year, though. I liked the cold opening. Certainly different and had some decent funny stuff. The episode itself was pretty good. But the ending was probably the best to me. Kinda sad that this will be the last season with Michael. Thoughts?
  3. I hear you about "The Event." I finally got to it last night and, even though I'm slightly intrigued about the ending, it was pretty laugh out loud ludicrous in areas, especially their "special effects" regarding the airplanes. Just horrible. I think I'll give it maybe one or two more episodes before I make a decision of whether or not to cancel it from my season pass.
  4. a very slightly damp microfiber cloth works great on my LCD. And then immediately use a dry microfiber cloth. Are you talking computer LCD screen or a big-screen TV LCD?
  5. funny, the Burger King song gets stuck in my head and hasn't annoyed me. I sing it every morning as I get up just to annoy my wife. I'm going to Burger King on Sunday morning. I think I'll walk in singing the song.
  6. it's on an alternate HD channel on Directv! An actual good picture from the WMLW people. Please remember that I'm in AZ, so you locals might not be getting this.
  7. I know I read an interview with him and/or his hitting coach or saw it on MLB Tonight or something. The whole deal was that he learned, through video analysis, to pull his hands in and open his stance up so he could get around on the inside pitches. He said that it was an epiphany for him, wondering why it took him this long to realize this mechanical flaw. He also said that he always knew he had this kind of power in him, but he could never get around on the inside pitches that you can pull for homers until he fixed the flaw.
  8. yup, very good show. I've watched every episode. Pretty much the "unbelievable" stuff like 24 but who cares? it's supposed to be good fun entertainment. And, yes, the comedy is pretty good, too. They've been re-running eps from last year on Friday nights the last couple weeks (including tonight) if one wanted to check it out. You can pretty much jump right in, for the most part.
  9. I could have sworn that I saw somewhere that Directv is offering Sunday Ticket somehow to people who can't have satellite dishes (like in apartment complexes or homeowner associations). Here is a link with a story about it. About dang time, I'd say. I know this wasn't quite what you're asking but I thought I'd throw it out there.
  10. The League was pretty darn funny tonight. Good start to the season for that show.
  11. Hawaii Five-O is the only new show that my wife and I added to the season pass. The new shows look terrible. We'll be keeping up with the 3 CSI shows, Criminal Minds, and that's about it. I added The Event and Outsourced to my personal season pass in baseball room for me to watch. Otherwise, just looking forward to my usuals: The Office, Community, Human Target, The Good Guys, Chuck, Friday Night Lights, Fringe, and The League.
  12. woot! Summer 4-gamer in Phoenix! Mid-week, too, so hotel room will be a tiny bit cheaper!!!
  13. is this also affecting some avatar's being extraordinarily large rather than the normal size?
  14. not really "news" but did anybody else see the guy in Oakland tonight that fell while attempting a catch in bleachers? The MLB Tonight guys are just ripping him for how funny it was. You really need to see the entire sequence from beginning to end, though, to get the full effect.
  15. I just read the article on ESPN and apparently it was homophobic slurs. But the thing that got me was Davidson's quote at the end of the article. I'm not going to post a link to the site. I think we all know how to find it. I would suggest that we do not discuss the individual's name as he may, for all we know, may be a member of this site. Thank you.
  16. thanks, bucks2281. I was pretty sure that teams still did that. I know the Diamondbacks gave away coupons for many years for runs scored and strikeouts thrown after every game. Of course, I haven't been to a game down there all year since they stink. Just too far to travel for a pretty poor chance at seeing a win. (I was out with the flu or something in May when I could have seen the Brewers sweep and Gerut cycle.)
  17. hey, we just need a close/blown call at third and we've umped for the cycle!
  18. make sure your center channel speaker wire is firmly attached to both the speaker and the receiver. Also, make sure your receiver settings are correct. I did this a few weeks ago and swore I had them right, but looked again and, sure enough, I had something set wrong.
  19. I've used a Norelco rechargeable for the last 10 years at least. Mine is the one that has the Nivea shaving lotion goop for a real close shave. I love it. Probably would never go back to blades again. Mostly because I can shave in the shower and save some time every morning. With mine I can buy replacement blades for about $50, but I've only had to do it once over the years. I'm satisfied with the shave I get, but others probably switch once a year (or even more often). I've never used a microscreen razor (like a Remington) so I can't comment on those. Be forewarned, however. When you first switch to an electric razor, it takes your face about a week to adjust to the change. So you might be disappointed and think you wasted your money. But be patient as it does indeed work. Good topic, by the way.
  20. I'm kind of surprised that the Brewers don't do a coupon giveaway for AFTER the ballgame like many parks do. Like a "Brewers score 7 runs, you score a free taco at Taco John's" or "Brewers strike out 10 batters or more, you get a free fountain drink at Kwik Trip."
  21. I thought I had read somewhere that Mable Murphy's closed. Maybe I was mistaken, though.
  22. Yeah, a bloody nightmare, maybe.
  23. What are you guys talking about???? He gave up a hit to the first batter he faced! The guy's a bum!
  24. House of Blues (in Mandalay Bay) used to have an 80's Night during one night of the week, every week. My wife and I enjoyed it when we were there and we were in our mid 30's at that time. Cover charge was a bit steep (as were drinks, to a point) but it was a good time and not too terribly crowded.
