  1. I get the statement Hiura has no business being called up due to having 0 defensive value. But We are staring at a Sub .600 OPS Winker with the exact same problem. no defensive value. Heck he bats Lefty and has been sitting games now vs LH pitching. Winker is a platoon player now. So, all that said, Replacing his suck for Hiura to bat DH with 0 defensive implications that just may actually provide some RBI/HRs you know scoring runs should be embarked on. I mean people complain about Hiura's misuse and his reverse splits. So him having a career .840 OPS vs RH pitchers isn't worth replacing Winker's current 565 OPS vs RH pitchers when he's used as a platoon bat now? Everything in Winker's statcast numbers are worse than his worst season ever last season. There's not one shining bright spot to put any faith in him turning it around. His k% is up to 25.5% Like I just want both sagas to end. Winker good bye. Hiura called up given every chance to remain in the bigs batting 5 games a week. If he can't hang then good bye to him too.
  2. He's healthy and on the ML field. Frelick is struggling worse than before his injury. And Mitchell hurt for the season who you shouldn't count on being really good til he's proved it. Wiemer is the only OF producing for the Brewers of the big 3. You waste him in a trade, and the other 2 are done due to post injury decline, the lost impact is too much. Lorenzo Cain didn't achieve a consistent 100+ OPS plus til his age 28 season, 4 seasons after his debut. 38.5 career BWar. You only move him if you're getting the 3+years of controlled position player who's producing today vs in the near future. Like a Luis Robert Jr.
  3. Speaking on 40man. If the Brewers added Black to their 40man when calling him up, a trade involving Black would mean that receiving team has to add him to their 40man. I don't think he's rule 5 eligible after this season yet. Those 40man spots protecting those who are are valuable. I just wonder are the Brewers keeping him down there til he sets the SB AA record before promoting him to AAA.
  4. I'm now convinced you figured out who the Brewers will headline in a trade being Black. Just demote the players stopping him from getting reps in AAA to AA. As to the 40man issue I seen argued. We'll Waive Winker bye-bye and you've fixed your 40man problem. Truthfully they're holding on to Winker up til deadline to move him. Use him in trade of contracts so they aren't just stuck paying him his full salary when just waiving him. They'll finally kick him to the curb after the deadline if still holding on to him. The Black Era might begin if the team didn't acquire somebody to replace Winker.
  5. Small is waiver wire pay. If this is what it would take, Milw should do it. To give up likely 0 superstars to acquire 2 for 2 months each? You should scrap Small and replace it with 1 of Misiorowski or Quero. Maybe you don't include Lara but somebody Like Logan Henderson or Chris Wood depending the SP/C you gave up between Mis/Que.
  6. How can the Yankees acquire Ohtani? They have 2 top 100 prospects. Dominguez and a Catcher. Like they're about 27th or worse on headline packpage to offer. I can't even fathom a package it'd take for essentially 2 of the best players in the game but in 1 player. Nobody should be able to meet what it should cost.
  7. Don't be the type who makes offers that rid the team of low value/waiver wire values like it will get somebody the Brewers need. Nobody wants any of these guys but us.
  8. We're talking about a Catcher for this prospect. Plus in the field. Plus with his arm. He's sticking behind the plate and not being moved around to find a defensive home. Sal Perez, Maldonado, Molina, and Pina are all examples what his future looks like. Long careers. Sal Perez, now there's the better comp for what it appears Quero is headed for. Perez was AA at age 21 and played 79 games there 12 at AAA and called up to the Royals. Quero is doing better thus far through 57games at a younger age. Perez is now an 8 time AS, albeit fan voting helped a few of those. Point is defensive catchers are always finding spots on a ML team regardless how poor the hitting(Maldonado) Quero sets his floor there with a bat potential making him an AS easy. Like Perez.
  9. Chourio could be pressing at 19 being the #1-#3 prospect ranking. This all exploded over last year about this time no? AA is where the competition is really at among pitching prospects...who I believe he's taken yard at least 2 times this season. He's holding his ground maybe he'll take off after this break. Obviously expectations are very high.
  10. His AAA stats last season was 772OPS and in the 15games he was sent down put up 928OPS. Minors career sits at .363 OB. Adames has a career .319OB 763 OPS. Now don't expect Turang to carry that OPS or OB, but putting up .335 OB as realistic projection would make his bat valuable at SS with that defense. Bump the slg to just 365 and 700 OPS will create value at the SS position. He's just 23 all of this season. so still approaching his prime as Adames reached just last year.
  11. He should be in the top 25 rankings when the prospect lists are updated post draft signings. Chourio's ceiling is higher, but from the prospect view, Quero has no doubt cemented himself as a future AS at Catcher. That's his floor which is a ceiling for a catcher right? There's no doubt he has a 10+year career in the majors ahead of him. You're talking Martin Maldonaldo with batting skills while still growing those skills. Considering competition with the OF I dunno that I can say Chourio will be an AS by the end of his team control. So that makes Quero the best team prospect at this moment of posting. What's keeping the Brewers from promoting Quero to AAA already? Are they going to wait 75games like last season to promote him? Waiting on Chourio to reach the time he will be called up?
  12. What do you mean ugly without him? Turang is a defensive wizard. If you're speaking about the bats, well he is a rookie and the up the middle defense over bat is standard albeit less these days. Black's home would be 2b. I'd trade Adames asap if his month continues like it's started. Superb sell high after the extreme sell low after May/June. We'd probably do well taking Emmet Sheehan who we can use right away as a starter, say if we trade others away(like Miley or Teheran) And going down the list if SS is a concern, Joendry Vargas was the Dodgers international signing this year off to a great start that wouldn't surprise me seeing him top 100 come next season if he remains a Dodger with the bias. Don't know if he'd be allowed in a trade having been signed this year. Could they do a pbtnl and complete the trade after the season?
  13. This should be your strategy. Draft guys who are likelier to make the Majors than guys who you can sign but ceiling out as AAA filler. Don't sign? No worries. Kept other teams from drafting and possibly signing. Didn't they increase pay for players in the minors? Still getting 150k and what's paid to you now may sway one starting their pro path quicker to the bigs. This can be the new way risking more ML draft with volume coming from international signings. I also like the protection idea on Pratt not signing. They find one or multiples who take what Pratt didn't that was saved up for.
  14. Don't see a writeup on this guy via mlb. Must be a slot money saving pick towards the HS picks.
  15. Again, me mentioning Black in the trade for Candelario was just what the Trade Value site had as someone it would cost. I was just trying to give an idea what they think it would have taken. The values for our team has Black at 5.9, Lara 5.1, Gasser 4.6, then our RPs Cousins/Strez at 3.3 with Anderson and Uribe at 3.2. So once you reach their you are looking at sending the Nationals (if JC is worth 10.6) at least 3 prospects if not 4 starting at Moore. Which is our #8 prospect. JC is listed around the top for trade deadline gets, doubt you are seeing Moore lead the way as the best headliner all teams offered to acquire him. Now somebody mentioned the values hadn't been updated so I dunno where JC really stands. Black has made the top 100 for a split second on MLB's rankings(at least 8 draftees will push him out if not moBlacre just bc 1st rd picks) so Black's value should have increase like Quero's approaching 20.
  16. Well that's nice read that the delivery is super repeatable. 190 is a little light for your preferred workload SP. He'll obviously have time to mature and build up a couple ticks of velocity with a bigger frame. He'll carve up Rok-A+ ball with that Curveball offering.
  17. Sometimes it's College commitment if the $$ don't match what the player wants.
  18. Nice. Corner IF bat team needs. The MLB profile says he already has the loft and power needed to hit HRs. No screwing with his launch angle! Stud forthcoming.
  19. Trout 6-2 Judge 6-7 Ohtani 6-4 DeLaCruz 6-5. Magic range 6-2 to 6-5 for blowing through ceilings.
  20. Just looking around mlb rank where we pick. Yohandy Morales at 6-4 3b profile. Thomas White 6-5 LH P, and Brock Wilken 6-4 3b/1b profile. Good for me. Enough with the under 6' 1st rd picks.
