Right and what's his marketability going to bring him if he's a MLB face like Azuna and Trout? Who will be his first ad in WI?
  2. brewcrewdue80
You're tooling those players with Chourio-Contreras-Frelick-Mitchell-Wiemer-Black-Turang-Peralta-Ashby-Uribe closer. And if Milw gets extra picks what's keeping them from setting up a deal where they add 1 of the top 8 ranked in draft who falls to them who fast tracks with 2 seasons addition to team? Or seeing another baby-Chourio meteoric rise come from the recent international signings? And of course a FA signing or 2?

Team control equals 6.120-6.130 years. 8 years adds 1.040 days over roughly control. I hope a deal at minimum is 9years. Whether guaranteed or a team option year that's going to be a virtual lock. 8years is a loss imo on Brewers end. Edit add re Burnes- trading Burnes comes down to, "Do the 2 sides hash out a 1yr deal? or do they take the case to Arbitration?" 1st- trade value is completely set. 2nd- it's in limbo and a team would need to overpay on the low end offer to get the deal done. Crew would be bad to take an offer based on the high end Burnes side of a deal. 2nd part takes us to late March? Early April to set his value? Trades for Burnes just won't go down then with rosters practically set in stone.

ThenCorbin Carroll has basically 9/135M signed 4yrs older than Chourio today. 28+M paid a yr those last 3 FA bought seasons. I'd fully expect 10yrs doing this. So you're adding another 28M comparable paid season only to someone 3-4 years younger during the time making that amount than Carroll. I'd think the QO 10yrs from now approaches 28M. You're not buying the 40/50 player for 28M then. You let Chourio take MLB time seeing the field that's what it'll look like on the payroll when you extend then 28+M vs signing him now and making that number be 20M or less because you paid him 7-10M in what would be preArby years and he hadn't taken the ML field yet. He will be must watch TV bringing in immense revenue. Think Mike Trout if you must if Acuna doesn't excite you. That's the media billboard affect that's coming along when he plays out this contract.
  5. brewcrewdue80
Chourio has Acuna comps for a future. Risks? Toss all that out the window. Any extra years gained in team control is an absolute win for the franchise. Hell give him 12yrs 200Mil. Try to understand what 40/50 seasons are going to be like on lockdown.

Get It Done! 10years. 150 sounds great to me. Pay that man up front these 1st 5 years to keep that backend modest. Never have his salary exceed 20M in a season.
  7. brewcrewdue80
He accepts that deal the Brewers could still trade him for something as a salary dump. Can't get that comp pick without making the offer. It should be easier to eat now that Woodruff is out the picture on a same decision. It is in Adames' best interest to head in to FA after a solid season versus a 2nd consecutive poor showing as a batter.
  8. brewcrewdue80
Lynn returning to play for St Louis where he'd seen success. Probably that kind of line of reasoning. His durability during that time and career. Something needs to be said about 180+IP locked down from your starter even if it's a #3-5.
  9. brewcrewdue80
To me there's too much upside to trade him. You would need too much upside player value in return at a different position to make a trade worthwhile. Defense is special, I'd rate above Frelick for sure. Wiemer has the power potential for outside CF play, Frelick not so much. Mitchell is the combo between the two that I think fits CF defense the best....but coming off his injury will it remain. That's a dynamic that will need time figuring out. What's keeping Wiemer's style from not becoming the type of Joc Pederson with plus defense though? That's a 116OPS+ from RH side clamoring for 30HRs. It'd probably just be because the trio of Chourio-Mitchell-Frelick are better and there's no room to play him consistently.
  10. brewcrewdue80
Less team control faster increases in salary. And his ceiling seems quite low vs the ceiling and control you would hope to find out of dealing the caliber Dodgers could get out of Burnes or Adames. Want nothing back in return like Lux who would reduce the ceiling value the Brewers should be seeking like in Sheehan.
  11. brewcrewdue80
Adames has 1 yr left if he's not traded. SS goes to Turang. Black at 2b. Mayo 1/3b along with Wilken. It's fairly easy to sort this out. Definitely want some bat that can actually fit the 1b/3b profile that hasn't existed on the Brewers for some time now.
  12. brewcrewdue80
Sheehan popped up out of nowhere on Dodgers prospect lists in 2 yrs. He would make logical sense in a headline of the deal. I don't know about both since both are active SP for the Dodgers. That removes 2 for 1 from their rotation. Miguel Vargas makes sense if you're thinking 1b with versatility and believe his minors stats will show up as he gains more experience in to his prime. Michael Bush fits the same mold. So two of the same. Rh vs LH. Vargas is younger with more ML exp. Bush already 26 takes him well past 30 with team control. Trade value Sheehan and Bush ahead. Pepiot and Vargas about same. Doesn't really require a 3rd player. Salary could increase or decrease the Brewers surplus values. There are oodles of throw ins that would sweeten it on Milw's side. Take johendry Vargas for example. 18yr rok class international signing SS. Lotto ticket. Two LH SP just below Vargas dodger rankings, Kopp and Bruns, fit in value added late in trade with upside.
  13. brewcrewdue80
Having non tendered Woodruff and Tellez, I don't see the need to trade Yelich at this time. Solid year last season. Still wondering how he's not being pushed towards 1b. Make room for Chourio along with Mitchell, Frelick, and Wiemer OF. The FO has to be pursuing a trade of one of 3 not named Chourio keeping Yelich in the OF mix. The absolute need at 1b is real.
  14. brewcrewdue80
Woodruff is a FA now. Under his circumstances, I'd think that is better for him moving forward. It's known he's going to miss most if not all of 2024. His only downside at this moment is the rehab and Dr's he could have working with him within the team he's signed to. But ah, yes he can still sign with a team to gain that of his choosing. He can also go the route on his own and as he prepares a return to throwing, have a showcase say in August and sign a deal then that could still portend 20+M come 2025 season, should he showcase well. The 2/12 or 2/14 that locks him from the 2025 earning potential. Waiting til July and August, will still be enviable to a team signing him having 2+months to negotiate a long end contract if he's throwing well in September. Keep looking at this from FO perspective, when you ought to look at it from Woodruffs perspective. His decision making. He's losing his age 31 season. 2yr deal makes it age 32 committed. He was on track for top 15 paid SP in baseball. Something that declines with age. Having age 32- for start to that deal vs age 33- is impactful. Until he shows he's no longer a SP caliber his value is much higher than being thought of here.

2 lotto tickets for a super 2nd chance drawing. Terrible trade.
  16. brewcrewdue80
That Baltimore deal feels steep on their end. Coby Mayo has a long future ahead of him and looks like an addition to the ML team during 2024. It'd be a dream to have his bat at corner infield. I don't think Baltimore is at that timeframe to make the m9ve for Burnes with their core and depth in the minors needing to be churned. Maybe next year after Mayo+rookies join, the idea of Peralta(if healthy& good still) being traded for makes sense. All these articles are click bait, throw mud at a wall to see if any of it sticks and guess on any of it comes true. Then gloat about that time 60days ago you suggested this trade. See I'm still relevant again. (Think I seen a jomboy post of one of their guys stating Dbacks-Rangers WS? Back in June when they had like best and 3rd best records in baseball. The ? Isn't a prediction imo, it's just that a ? that would they meet in WS. Yet Jomboy post was their boy knew back then.)

Turang at rookie pay will compensate defense. Batting bottom 3rd in order works. Can't afford another weak batting season from Adames for his "pop" hooray we have another Jose Hernandez. Pay someone with better pop like 1b or 3b or even OF the money Adames commands. We giving him a QO next year? The Dodgers will.
  18. brewcrewdue80
Extend him just to bat him 6th? That would be fine if the dollar amount matched that positioning. Paying him 8-10.5M a season. You know that isn't happening and thrusts him in to #3-4 when paid the amount he'll end up getting.
  19. brewcrewdue80
Solid move imo. Still up in air where you play Black at the ML level. You have 4OFs and Chourio in short time. You have Quero with Contreras blocking him near end of 2024. You don't have Miley. Burnes? Woodruff? 2 or 11.5M can be used towards a FA addition your depth needs more. I feel one of Frelick, Wiemer, and Mitchell are in line to be moved due to Chourio and Yelich. Fill up Canha's spot in one of those moves.
  20. brewcrewdue80
Get the vibe of a Travis Shaw potential addition in batting without the 3b defense. Who's playing 1st? Black? Yelich? Dunn in the future? Any relation to Adam Dunn? Just a churning of the bottom 5 in a 40man who may turn out productive.
  21. brewcrewdue80
    What has been Quero's injury?
  22. brewcrewdue80
Chourio's last 30 games is .315/385/543 in AA Last 10 is 395/480/698 What more does he need to do at AA? Same ? Above. What more should he do at AA after that last 30 games/10games to remain through rest of season at AA? Tonight's game he scored from 3rd on a fly out 10-20feet outside the infield caught the fielder off guard about to throw ball in to pitcher. He's approaching his career triple slash line .287/349/497 now at .282/340/475 for the season in AA. Btw Braun's #s for 2006 is 59 games each at A and AA racking up approx 260PAs at each level. AA slash line was 274/346/438. Chourio is approaching 400PAs for the season at AA holding a better AA OPS in a longer sample than Braun at 3years younger age.
  23. brewcrewdue80
Would he be scratched to get called up after the Wilson injury? He doesn't seem but a #4/5 SP ceiling looking off his pitching profile and results.
  24. brewcrewdue80
He should be called up to AAA within 10 more days. Something clearly clicked for him in last 2 weeks driving his OPS up over 100pts. Taking more walks then strikeouts while having more multiple hit games than 0 or 1 hit games. He's nearing the amount of PAs total given to him combined for A & A+ ball for time at AA. Black is deserving of a callup to AAA and I don't recommend calling him up but keeping Chourio at AA. Quero seems to be injured recently. Perfect timing to get these 2 called up while holding Quero back understandably til Quero returns and looks okay. Chourio lives up to the hype, he needs to actually get here if this 2 week spell continues straight through the call up to AAA. Then he can be used in this year's September and post season roster if he's holding his own better than Taylor's lack of talent. Black too. He's going to be a player the team gives an extension to. You don't worry about options or when you manipulate service time.
  25. brewcrewdue80
There's no current optics towards trading Yelich anymore for another season at minimum. He's by far the best hitter on the team currently. On top of that the multitude of player losses that will occur this offseason if traded or next offseason to FA. He's already earned his payday this season according to Fangraphs. If you have to eat any of his pay and don't get any immediate future star then it's not time to trade him. I'm talking like a Quero/Black/Miserioski type helium prospect riser before making a trade for. The way its going without extending anyone with a 2024 FA, the team will have Williams and Yelich and nobody else sniffing 8+Mil in 2025. So we're talking a very young team with the potential as appearing rebuilding/below 70wins with 0 vet leaders. How's that going to look to Brewers fans? No stadium maintenence this is the sign of selling this team good bye franchise. Imagine removing the only Brewer hitter that is being paid to hit and trotting out players that haven't proven they can hit now carrying a 60Mil payroll to start 2025. If even that? Make that make sense to the fans attending games. There needs to have a counter optic to make moving Yelich make sense as in acquiring a star via FA or trade and extending that player.
