  1. Aidan Maldonado worked around a leadoff double in the 8th and a pair of two out singles in the 9th to record the final six outs (three strikeouts) in the 4-3 Mudcats win.
  2. Carolina has retaken the lead 4-3 bottom of seven on a Miguel Briceno double and Yophery Rodriguez single.
  3. Alexander Cornielle sharp through three scoreless with 1 H | 1 BB | 3 K over 40 pitches. Wisco also just added two more runs on a Luke Adams walk, Jadher Areinamo double, and Matthew Wood single to run the score to 8-0 through three and a half.
  4. TRats get on the board top of two with a Matthew Wood single, Jesus Chirinos double, Eduarqui Fernandez single and Jheremy Vargas bomb resulting in four runs.
  5. Hall goes 1-2-3 in the second with a K. Four seamers coming in between 92.8 and 93.8 mph.
  6. The good: DL Hall put up a scoreless frame. The maybe not so good: first four seamer was 93.9 mph, last four seamer was 92.1 mph.
  7. Carrasco came out for a third inning and got the first two outs (fly out, K) but a single and Cooper Pratt error has runners on the corners. Morris Austin comes on and gets the 4-3 groundout to quash it.
  8. Daniel Guilarte doubled, moved to third on a Yophery Rodriguez ground out then scored on a wild pitch. Cooper Pratt followed up with a double of his own then came around to score on a Luis Castillo single. Christofher Carrasco has a walk, HBP and strikeout over two scoreless (27 pitches).
  9. Brewer walked and Chris Roller singled to bring home two more Nashville runs. Roller steals second and Yonny Hernandez walks to load the bases for Patrick Dorrian.
  10. A Francisco Mejia walk and a pair of doubles from Tyler Black and Wes Clarke has plated a pair of runs for Nashville in the top of the first. Vinny Capra HBP has runners on first and second for Brewer Hicklen with one down.
  11. Have fun! I got lucky when I went to a couple games back in 2017 and saw Burnes deal eight shutout innings. Also took a little day trip when I was there to Kiln, MS to see the Favre sights and have a couple beers at the Broke Spoke.
  12. Believe I saw it mentioned somewhere (maybe when the signing classes were announced?) that Christopher is Freddy’s cousin.
  13. Brock Wilken has left the yard in Biloxi to even the score at one to one through one inning played.
  14. KC Hunt dealing with 7 K | 1 H | 1 BB through five scoreless. Wisco got a pair of runs in the first on a Luke Adams double, Dylan O’Rae single, Jadher Areinamo double sequence.
  15. Including the 4.1 IP covered by Koenig in his four starts the Brewers are at 4.7 IP/GS, 30th in MLB. Replace that with the 20.2 IP covered by Wilson/Rea in those four games and they move up to 5.0 IP/GS which scooches them up to 28th. Arbitrary endpoints and all that, but through their first 19 starts until Hall left the rotation they averaged 4.72 IP/GS. From game 20 through Ross’s last start on May 20th (game 47) they averaged 4.94 IP/GS. From game 48 through last night, with Rea/Wilson’s innings subbed in for Koenig’s they are at 5.27 IP/GS. League average is 5.3 IP/GS.
  16. Small sample caveats obviously apply, but over the last week (0606 to 0612) EBJ is at 250/344/464 (142 wRC+) in 32 PAs. Hopefully a sign that he’s starting to get it going.
  17. Brewers have lost three in a row four times this year. After the first three gamer (April 14-16) they responded by winning four in a row. After the second (April 27-29) they won three in a row. After the third (May 4-6) they went 4-1. Given the state of the rotation and with momentum only extending as far as tomorrow’s starting pitcher, that the Brewers have not only avoided extended losing streaks but also bounced back strong after the handful of short ones they have had is pretty remarkable.
  18. Should move them up to ACL to take the spots of Mitchell & Valerio once their rehab is done. I'm not sure if I'm half joking or half serious.
  19. Zona Crew scored another run top of four when Antony Gomez singled, moved to third on a Johan Barrios base hit, then both moved up a base on a wild pitch.
  20. A quintet of singles from Eric Martinez, Adam Hall, Josh Adamczewski, Felix Valerio and Luiyin Alastre netted three runs for the Zona Crew who lead 3-1 bottom of three.
  21. I'd pass on Montgomery unless he majorly turns it around twixt now and the deadline. If he doesn't, that twenty plus million dollar player option is getting picked up for sure and likely to be flushed money for next year. 219 IP last year including the playoffs + missed spring training this year floating on the Boras raft = predictably struggles to start the year.
  22. Luis Guevara (3 IP | 1 H | 1 BB | 3 K) and Saul Sanchez (2 IP | 1 H | 0 BB | 2 K) close it out with five scoreless relief innings in the 13-6 DSL Uno victory.
  23. wRC+ was developed specifically as a context independent measure. The only context it considers is ballpark and the league run scoring environment.
