  1. Will be interesting to see how the change of venue and fielders impacts an extreme fly baller like Civale. White Sox stadium has a 96 park factor for HR per StatCast versus a 106 for AmFam, so that should help. StatCast has pegged Brewers OF for +10 FRV (2nd) versus -8 FRV (27th) for the White Sox, so big downgrade there.
  2. Vaughn is only $5.85M, so saves a couple million at least. If Brenton Del Chiaro and staff can unlock the goods that made him the #3 overall pick that would be pretty cool.
  3. Definitely cool to see him tapping into the power with more regularity. Last couple years his .168/.169 ISO were nice (especially considering his youth) but the BB/HBP were still doing a lot of the heavy lifting. So far this year the ISO is up .235 and after tonight’s bomb the only guys in the Southern League with a higher ISO will be Wilken and Xavier Isaac.
  4. Where is he going to play? Two errors in only 45 career innings at 3B. It doesn't appear the Brewers have any desire to move Turang to SS midseason. Maybe they could give Seigler regular DH at bats if Yelich is going to need an IL stint.
  5. Civale’s kinda fun with how he goes about his business. He’s up to 96 IP with MIL and there are 190 pitchers with at least 100 IP going back to last year. First thing that jumps out is all the bombs. Civale’s 156 HR+ would slot in at 182nd. Though that is partly a function of all the fly balls. Civale’s 128 FB+ would slot in at 6th. Strikeouts (93 K+), Walks (96 BB+), Hits (98 AVG+), Base Runners (97 WHIP+) are all pretty middling. As you may have surmised that all shakes out to a pretty ugly 121 FIP- that would slot in at 172nd. So how has he managed to keep runs off the board (94 ERA- would slot in 82nd) at an above average rate with the Brewers? When all those fly balls aren’t sailing over the fence they result in a low 89 BABIP+ (26th) and high strand rate with a 114 LOB+ (10th).
  6. I dunno, I think the season ticket holders would enjoy the 20 W - 13 L home record so far (never mind the -5 run differential). Meanwhile all those road runs (& the corresponding +35 differential) have only shaken out to a 16 W - 19 L record.
  7. The main reason is it’s easier to control his workload in the lower stakes environs of AAA than it is in the fighting for a playoff spot MLB. After 97 IP last year I’d guess they want to keep Misio around 130 or so this year. With 63 IP already under his belt let’s say that leaves around 70 yet to throw. That’s fourteen starts at five innings each, but there are still eighteen trips through a five man rotation after Thursday. I guess 18 x 4 gets you to 72 too. The math more or less dictates that it will take some degree of creativity to have Misio pitching meaningful innings in Sept (& hopefully Oct). Think the thought process would be something like giving him a mini breather here for the rest of June/July (extra days / lower innings in AAA) sets him up better to help the MLB team down the stretch (& hopefully beyond) after a spot or two open up at the deadline.
  8. Durbin is hitting 246/338/391 (107 wRC+) during the Brewers recent 15 W - 7 L run. Ortiz is at 230/338/328 (95 wRC+) over that same stretch. Nothing earth shattering by any means, but massive improvements (some might call it positive regression) on the 53 and 26 wRC+ marks they were sporting on May 17th.
  9. Drats. Hard not to feel for Tobias. Demetrio giveth (two run HR) and taketh away (walkoff error). Such is life…On The Complex.
  10. Maybe it will be enough to warrant the ever elusive ACL highlight clip package from BrewersPD.
  11. Griffin Tobias back out for the sixth and works around a leadoff single to put up another zero, adding another strikeout.
  12. Outside of the solo homer Griffin Tobias has only allowed a single over four frames with three strikeouts. He has yet to walk a batter in 19.2 IP. Jadyn Fielder has four triples already (on the season, not this game).
  13. A two RBI Luis Lara double drives home Pratt & Wilken (who both walked) to give Biloxi a 9-8 lead top eight.
  14. Looks like one inning is it. Griffin Tobias on for the second and goes four up three down allowing a solo shot.
  15. Neither Handelfry Encarnacion nor Jorge Quintana have appeared for the ACL Brewers since June 5th now.
  16. Zona Crew lining up like this under the AZ lights… Engel Paulino CF Frederi Montero 1B Luis Corobo DH Jadyn Fielder LF Kevin Garcia C Roderick Flores 2B Demetrio Nadal 3B Kevin Ereu SS Pedro Ibarguen RF & one Hayden Robinson on the mound.
  17. Nashville getting back into it with a three run fifth and two run sixth, Quero notching an RBI single in each frame. Now a 7-5 deficit.
  18. Juan Baez little league HR? Says triple and E8 on GameDay. 7-0 Wisco top four.
  19. Ugh, triple and now its 5-5. Inning would’ve been over at 5-2 without the Wilken error.
  20. Wilken solo shot top of three made it 5-0 Biloxi but Wichrowski has run into trouble in the bottom half and its currently down to a 5-3 margin.
  21. Braylon Payne solo shot gets Carolina on the board, trailing 2-1 through five.
  22. Pair of singles (Yhoswar & Guilarte), pair of groundouts (Eduardo & Baez) got Wisco another run. Then back to back Burke & Dinges doubles scored two more, 6-0 TRats. Dinges went for a seventh on a Jadher single, but was thrown out at home.
