  1. It all started last year when they posted +19.8 BsR, most in MLB. So far this year they have already put up +9.5 BsR in only 61 games. Over the last two seasons their +29.3 BsR is almost a dozen runs better than ARI in second at +17.6.
  2. After a pair of strikeouts to open the seventh, Johanderson Tarazona doubled, Angel Gonzalez walked, they both stole a bag, then came around to score on a two RBI Jhoanjel Saez single to give DSL Blue a 9-8 lead. But that ain't it. Saez stole second, Joan Guttierez & Brailyn Antunez walked to load the bases, then Jefer Lista came through with the single and an E4 for two more, now 11-8.
  3. DSL Gold loses their second straight one run game, falling 5-4. - Kenny Fenelon added two more singles to his ledger. - Jose Martinez singles twice and stole two bags. - Francis Sosa homered - Jonathan Rangel tripled twice - Romano Donato doubled - Josue Toledo = 4 IP | 0 R | 1 H | 0 BB | 3 K
  4. DSL Blue breaks up the imperfect game with a Jefer Lista RBI single. Deficit is down to 8-7 now as they scored a run earlier on an Antunez bases loaded GIDP.
  5. Really fun article at FanGraphs about the Brewers making weird history one year ago today against the White Sox.
  6. & Cesar Espinal goes single, bomb, double to the first three batters in the ninth. Looks like they’ll have to walk this one off.
  7. Ereu up to fourteen BB and two HBP on the season over 61 PAs with only three hits…all singles.
  8. Gave Quezada the 8th and he faced the minimum with the help of a Luis Corobo back pick at first to end the inning. With two down in the Brewers half we’ve got a Flores walk, Corobo single and Ereu walk to load the bases for Fielder who triples everybody home for a 5-4 Crew lead. W O W ! !
  9. Quezada back for the seventh and he bounces back with a 3U3D (1 K).
  10. Jorge Quintana first 45 PAs of year 125/222/225 (27 wRC+) 11.1 BB% | 33.3 K% Jorge Quintana last 45 PAs before tonight 341/378/463 (123 wRC+) 6.7 BB% | 17.8 K% 2 for 3 with a double so far.
  11. Joshua Quezada on for the sixth and having a classic On The Complex inning. Three wild pitches, two doubles, a single and a walk (not in that order) added up to three runs and flipped a 2-1 lead to a 4-2 deficit.
  12. Something to maybe keep an eye on, Handelfry was listed as the starter pregame but Engel Paulino has been playing CF all game instead. Hopefully just one of those ACL snafus.
  13. Dorchies finally gave up a run in the fourth, though it looks like the Zona Crew pulled off the successful 8-3-4 cutoff the throw home to get the runner at second play, so that’s a small victory.
  14. Oh, but that’s not all as Pedro Ibarguen follows with an RBI single of his own.
  15. Ethan Dorchies has gone six up six down over the first two frames with three ground outs, two pop outs, and one fly out. Frederi Montero opens the Brewers second with a single and moves to third on a pair of ground outs. Kevin Ereu plunked to set up runners on the corners two down for Jadyn Fielder who comes through with the RBI single.
  16. Arizona Complex lines up like this tonight… Juan Ortuno 2B Handelfry Encarnacion CF Jorge Quintana SS Frederi Montero 1B Roderick Flores LF Luis Corobo C Kevin Ereu 3B Jadyn Fielder DH Pedro Ibarguen RF Ethan Dorchies P No Quero in the lineup but he is listed among the bench players.
  17. KC Royals 2B hitting for a 44 wRC+ and -1.2 WAR (only Rockies 2B have been worse). Cam Devanney is hitting for a 149 wRC+ at their AAA affiliate. I know it’s been said before but… FREE CAM DEVANNEY !!
  18. Most likely. With only 78 and 81 innings in each of the last two seasons and 54 already this year he probably has about 70 IP left in the tank assuming they don't want to jump him by more than 40 to 50 over his previous highs. Of his eleven outings this year he's gone 3 IP, 4 IP (x2), 5 IP (x5), and 6 IP (x3) with pitch counts between 57 and 96. Average outing has been a tick under five innings and about 78 pitches to this point.
  19. Civale and Quintana are two of only 66 pitchers with at least 500 IP since 2021. I think they both qualify as dependable veteran innings eaters which makes someone more of a back end three or solid four in today's starting pitching hellscape. Quintana has a 90 ERA- | 96 FIP- over that stretch. If that is a #5 I'll take five of them. Civale hasn't been quite impressive peripherally with a 94 ERA- | 125 FIP- since joining the Brewers, but has still kept runs off the board at an above average rate. Hard for me to call that a #5. Going back to that 2021-25 leaderboard and lowering the IP threshold to 350 gets 137 pitchers (almost five per team), Quintana is 59th with 8.9 rWAR and Civale is 76th with 7.0 rWAR.
  20. Noticed that. With two of the three "big" signings being CF was curious who the other non-Acosta SS would be. Listed at 5'7" 140lbs on his player page for whatever that is or isn't worth.
  21. First Base is pretty crowded in the system with EMJ, Black, Boeve, Adams, and Burke at the higher levels. Think Bitonti’s going to need to reduce his 34.8 K% quite a bit before he gets the bump.
  22. Ayendy Bravo with a nice start for DSL Blue at 4 IP of 1 UER | 2 H | 0 BB | 7 K.
  23. Frandy was probably the name I was most surprised not to see on the ACL roster this year. Accirding to his player page he wears #69 so he presumably plays with a little spice (or is a fan of offensive line play in American Football)
  24. Checking that 2023 to present leaderboard it looks like Clarke has an 89 strikeout gap over Eduardo Garcia in 2nd place, but trails Luke Adams by 17 walks for the top spot in the BB column. Like Meatloaf sang, “Two Out of Three (True Outcomes) Ain’t Bad.”
