  1. THE BREWERS WILL WIN THE WORLD SERIES (please circle one) DUH or NO DUH
  2. I'd honestly have Yelich & Cain in the one two spot on my ballot & I think a couple two tree voters will do the same to prove this isn't a total homer take. The currency of baseball are outs. By all available measures, as imperfect as they may be, Cain has saved more runs on defense than Baez & there's no arguing he has made far less at the plate.
  3. So what you're telling me is...they're due?
  4. Hernan 2016-18 (1218 PAs) 4.5 BB% | 20.0 K% | 262/294/412 | 83wRC+ Schoop 2016-18 (1815 PAs) 4.1 BB% | 21.6 K% | 267/304/462 | 102 wRC+ Schoop is the Tool Time version of Hernan. More Power.
  5. Mikolas against a fading Hamels is a good match up for the Cards today, methinks. Win & the probables for Sunday are Flaherty/Montgomery. Another favorable match up for the Cards, assuming it holds. Hoping St. Louis can channel the spirit of Al Davis these next couple days. Just Win, Baby!
  6. Braun hits 2 HR on the 10 year anniversary of his huge game winning HR to close out the 2008 regular season. Amazing.
  7. Yes. I have hope for the future. Tonight I hope the Pirates beat the Cubs.
  8. All numbers per FanGraphs... 1982 Brewers Offense: +147.6 runs (1st) Defense: -4.5 runs (15th) Starters: 9.1 FIP based WAR (19th) 8.1 runs allowed based WAR (15th) Relievers: 2.1 FIP based WAR (16th) 3.9 runs allowed based WAR (17th) 2011 Brewers Offense (no pitchers): +53.1 runs (7th) Defense: +43.4 runs (6th) Starters: 15.7 FIP based WAR (6th) 12.8 runs allowed based WAR (13th) Relievers: 5.4 FIP based WAR (5th) 4.4 runs allowed based WAR (12th) 2018 Brewers (so far) Offense (no pitchers): +34.4 runs (12th) Defense: +58.5 runs (2nd) Starters: 8.9 FIP based WAR (17th) 11.6 runs allowed based WAR (15th) Relievers: 6.5 FIP based WAR (4th) 7.2 runs allowed based WAR (6th)
  9. From about a dice roll to almost a coin flip.
  10. Could've easily been 15-1 if Counsell didn't blow so many obvious decisions. But I'm not complaining.
  11. The Red Sox are going to win the World Series. The Yankees are going to win the World Series. The Indians are going to win the World Series. The Astros are going to win the World Series. The A's are going to win the World Series. The Braves are going to win the World Series. The Cubs are going to win the World Series. The Cardinals are going to win the World Series. The Dodgers are going to win the World Series. The Rockies are going to win the World Series. Just figured I'd jinx every other team in the potential postseason field, ensuring that the Brewers will now...well...you know
  12. Pure speculation, but I'm fearing a Julio Machado type situation. Hope I'm wrong.
  13. Yeah, it was either Braun or Moose. Probably comes down to the team having more confidence in Granderson than Schoop.
  14. Jennings, Hader, Cedeno, Gio. Totally possible. Gio is scheduled to start tomorrow. That also doesn't cover a potential 5th PA. A righty had to face Carpenter at some point. Freddy made a bad pitch. Baseball.
  15. No need to apologize. Counsell has managed us to the second best record in the NL to this point which would seem to indicate he is making good decisions more often than bad ones.
  16. We are one of the copycat teams doing it... https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-gradual-spread-of-the-opener/
  17. Agreed. Rays used Romo as the opener on May 19. Since then they are 2nd in MLB in both ERA & wOBA allowed. Was just checking out their team pitching stats. Only two guys over 100 IP, though Archer was at 96 before he was dealt.
  18. With a week to go Yelich has overtaken Baez on both the FanGraphs & Baseball Reference WAR leaderboards. FG is at 6.6 to 5.4, so over a full win. Yelich has him by about 16 runs on the offensive side & UZR sees their fielding as about even with Baez really only having the edge in positional adjustment, +3.4 vs -5.4. BR has it a little closer at 6.4 to 6.1. They've got Yelich 23 runs ahead on offense, though DRS (+9) likes Baez a little more than UZR (-0.1) & BRef is even more extreme on their positional adjustments, -6 vs +6. Typically if its close the edge goes to the better hitter, but Baez having more exposure on the Cubs & them likely winning the division probably closes the gap some. But yeah, that .328 OBP. Gotta think that hurts more in 2018 than it would have in past votes.
