  1. Three days in a row where pretty egregiously bad calls have gone against the Brewers. That's some rough luck.
  2. Well, I guess Freddy will be rested for his next start? What a ridiculous situation. It is very frustrating when people are bad at their jobs and then compound the situation by pretending not to be.
  3. Hoping Peralta can continue this level of efficiency. A deep start would be fantastic.
  4. String of good ABs this inning. Solid singles, stolen bases, sac flies. Love it.
  5. Love to see Jackson with a solid basehit. He's such a threat to steal every time.
  6. You know, I think this place is still pretty cool. It's the best place to follow Brewers baseball. I don't have any ideas, other than keep up the good work.
  7. What happened on the Sanchez injury? I am listening tonight and was tending to the child.
  8. Man, I thought that was a great AB by Chourio. He K'd, but fouled off some tough pitches.
  9. Wilson has been pitching so well tonight. I mean, I don't know how good the peripherals are, but the results have been awesome. Big time help to this team.
  10. This is part of the Chourio ride. He's got to fight through these stretches. Obviously, it's might get to a point where you have to protect his confidence and give him a reset of some sort, but the other thing is that we don't really have many better options at the moment. When Mitchell is back healthy, I could maybe see Chourio as a 4th outfielder for stretches. Things would have to get really bad for him to go down to AAA. If we have another OFer we want up, he's gotta come up for Weimer.
  11. I believe in Hall. Others may not. That's cool. Even as a bullpen piece, though, Hall adds multi-inning depth. We need that. We've also played like 80% of our games against teams over .500. This has been a hard April, and we've weathered it well. I have to think we'll cool off on the road and start playing better at home. This next schedule stretch isn't quite so bad. It's baseball, so you never know, but there's definitely a chance to go 15-10 over these next 25. 30-20 through 50 would be an excellent start.
  12. They need Hall and Junis healthy. At the very least, that eats innings. Williams return will help too, but that's still two months away. You just need guys like Ashby and Gasser to contribute. Koenig has. Myers has. I am thrilled to be 17-10 after this schedule.
  13. I will be glad to be done with the Yankees. Not sure about their pen, but they look like World Series favorites to me. Imagine that lineup when Judge starts hitting.
  14. Today kind of felt like one they'd have to punt.
  15. Weimer is not ready. You have to let him play today, I get it, but I am counting the days until maybe Mitchell gets another shot. Hard to complain about this team so far. Really hope our injury luck improves later in the season.
  16. Banking these wins with all the pitching injuries is so important, provided guys can start getting healthy. Don't know how they've managed a 17-8 start against a genuinely difficult schedule. Lot of scrap to this club in the early going. Gotta love that. One of these days, you probably just have to punt because you need to save some BP innings. But Uribe and Payamps both got the day off yesterday, so that's a start. If Ross can give you 6, you can go Viera, Uribe, Payamps, and feel okay.
  17. There is always something joyful about morning baseball, even more than afternoon baseball. Get a split, and you're thrilled with a 5-2 road trip, heading into a tough week.
  18. Yeah, there are some really cool game theory questions going on in terms of all these individual choices. Essentially, this is an unregulated free market right now, which means it's fun as heck to study from a theoretical perspective but also maybe helps fans see that markets are usually regulated for a reason, as there are clear downsides.
  19. Uribe really has to learn to throw strikes.
  20. Even if this holds, a great outing from Myers will be the biggest takeaway from this one for me. We need to cover innings and find some guys who can get outs, even if it's 3-4 innings at a time. And Koenig pitched pretty well too.
  21. This is amazing. I mean, it's bad, but it's hilarious and maybe makes Cutch the all-time, Brewer-killer leader. I don't think I can remember another player that's reduced our win probability by as much as Cutch. Pujols, maybe? David Freese?
  22. Due for one of these. Still time, but this looked like the least promising pitching matchup on paper.
  23. I mean, we've definitely hit the Wild West point here. In the next few years, there will probably be a legal framework and maybe some sort of collective bargaining, but, until then, there will be constant roster churn. Honestly, for football, this system makes some sort of sense. The health risks are SO high (and, with CTE, filled with so many unknowns) that players should be looking to max out on as much short-term cash as they can. Other sports? Not so much. But it's football's world, and everyone else is just living in it. As a basketball program, you just have to expect to have to re-recruit your entire roster every year. Maybe you can target guys you think you can keep because of their makeup or history or whatever, but that's Chuckie, and you never know who's going to offer life-changing money for a one-year commitment. Unless the cash dries up (which it won't, as long as there are rich people who want to build little campus empires), that's always going to be a possibility. As for Chuckie, I get it. He's an elite college defender. That's not a skill that's going to get him paid as a basketball player. If it's 800K to play for a CBB-mad city, there's clearly a draw there. On the bright side, I've not seen Gard have big talent for developing players, so I'm not sure this impacts UW as much as it would have long ago. They've proven fairly nimble. At the same time, now they really have to adapt and find talent that they can get to gel defensively. Hope they're up to it.
  24. Sonny Gray is not going to give up a run all year, is he?
