  1. Not having much confidence that the Brewers are going to score off the Dodgers bullpen.
  2. It’s now been 29 innings since a position player other than Yelich has driven in a run.
  3. Agreed, a little surprised he gave Stripling the quick hook tonight, figured he would last six. He has to like his chances with his stronger bullpen that includes lefties to face the Brewers lefty heavy lineup. Brewers need to find a way to get a run or two across and hope for Hader to pitch the last two.
  4. It’s getting really frustrating watching this lineup with so many hitters struggling. It’s getting to where the only hope to score is to get someone on base for Yelich. Shaw has been awful but his 2 ABs tonight might be his worst two of the year.
  5. I’m going to have to keep telling myself Yelich would not necessarily hit that homer in the last inning.
  6. If there’s anything the Brewers can’t afford it’s a team wide hitting slump. They sure aren't going to win many low scoring games. This could be a rough weekend against the Dodgers’ endless supply of left handed pitchers.
  7. Looking like another last game of series giveaway game and a lot more innings on the bullpen.
  8. Arcia probably won’t hit much better than he has so far, and Moustakas is doing just fine but will never be a high average hitter. Shaw, Braun, and Aguilar have all been struggling and more production from them would really help, especially since Yelich and Grandal aren’t going to be hot all the time. According to Yelich, he isn’t hot nor seeing the ball well.... Except against the Cardinals.
  9. Hopefully Burnes can make the three HRs solo shots and the Brewers can outscore the Cardinals again. The last thing I expect is a low scoring win.

  11. But Rock said our bull pen has fared well so far this season... I think the standard they are using is that the Brewers haven’t been losing games by blowing late leads. They have made some games more uncomfortable than we’d like and allowed some deficits to get out of hand, but have held on tomwin when they’ve had the chance. Of course that has usually involved having Hader finish or having a huge lead.
  12. The difference between tonight’s strike zone and last night’s is pretty dramatic. No way that would have been a strike last night.
  13. 8-0 lead and it’s going to be nail biting time until the final out. I was disappointed to see Thames hit for Anderson, but he did pitch a couple of innings on Sunday and is probably a leading candidate to start Saturday. Bringing Claudio in pretty much guarantees that the tying run will be at the plate this inning. ETA- Thank goodness Claudio didn’t come in then.
  14. Well, he apparently thought so. He said he went out four hours before the game for special practice with the hitting coach to make some adjustments.
  15. Brewers pitching is making their games painfully long and borderline unwatchable. It may be too early to panic, but it isn’t too early to say that some significant improvements are needed or the team is in big trouble.
  16. Brewers needed to score 3 or 4 out of those chances they had in the third and fourth. 6 runs isn’t going to be nearly enough to win this game and the Cardinals are a lot better positioned with their bullpen.
  17. I don’t think I’ll get as much push back as I got earlier in the week when I said that Yelich is looking a little off at the plate. He’s picked up a few hits but hasn’t hit many balls hard on this road trip. Maybe getting back home will help.
  18. I think we’re going to be seeing a few innings from Chase Anderson today. This looks a lot like the Chacin we saw last April.
  19. After getting just what they needed from Davies last night the Brewers are getting just what they don’t need from Chacin today.
  20. Chacin did pretty well against the Dodgers in Game 3 of the NLCS last year so I will hope for something like that. Pitching around Bellinger the way he has been hitting is probably not a bad idea for anyone now.
  21. I don't disagree. He was brutal. But I personally think they made the right decision bringing him back. Track record is important. Watched the rest of the game this morning after falling asleep after the fifth inning last night. I’m seconding your comment on Albers. I think everyone forgets how good he was before the injuries popped up last year, and then he never got it back when he was able to pitch again. But, given his track record, the Brewers have to at least give him a look to see what he can do after an offseason of recovery. He has as much of a chance to be useful as any of the other options the Brewers have.
  22. When I said the other day that the Brewers might be giving up over 100 runs in these 13 games against the Dodgers and Cardinals, that may have been optimistic. Maybe the Brewers can score 100 themselves and win a few games.
