  1. if Hiura has 1.100 OPS in Nashville come May, does he get recalled to Milwaukee?
  2. If Hiura has 1.100 OPS in May, does he get recalled to Milwaukee?
  3. We can still take two of three and feel good?
  4. Is the three batter rule impacting the value of carrying LOOGY types? https://blogs.fangraphs.com/the-continued-demise-of-the-left-handed-reliever/
  5. What a strange simulated year for Corbin Burnes.
  6. I think Hiura could conceivably provide Dan Uggla-level of performance. Keston is still younger than when Uggla debuted. Uggla had career .783 OPS, near to Keston’s .771. That said, I’m fine with the DFA and would welcome Hiura back.
  7. I hope we can avoid a repeat of last year’s opening day and opening series: https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CHN/CHN202204070.shtml
  8. Are they? Should they be? I realize the Cardinals won the division last year but other than 1B and 3B, is Saint Louis clearly better than Milwaukee in any other area? We both have Contreras at catcher, so that’s a push? 🙂
  9. Just providing an endorsement of the 20% discount on the Caretaker subscription. For less than $1 per week, the ad-free experience is a great value.
  10. Marquette beat Baylor by 26 points in November. Hard to justify Baylor being seeded ahead of Marquette.
  11. Most high dollar, long-term extensions bring negative or minimal value to organizations. I’m not sure extension or bust is the right mindset.
  12. It has been three months since the Badgers beat a team ranked in the top 25 (at the time they played).
  13. Do we think fans will boo the Attanasio family during the Opening Day national anthem tradition? i certainly am not advocating for that because Mark has done quite bit for the franchise.
  14. I think we are all a little stir crazy waiting for opening day.
  15. I am curious how ZiPS sees us three wins worse than last year. I think it is conceivable our offense and pitching is equal or greater than it was last year.
  16. Does Devin Williams call his pitch a change up? Your explanation makes total sense on why it is a screwball.
  17. In fairness to Mark Kotsay, he never should have been put in that position.
  18. I am usually more positive than this but I’m wondering if we also need to run this series back and rank order ‘worst CF in Brewers history’ so we can reference Mark Kotsay.
  19. Corey Seager made $33 million last year to have lower OPS and WAR than Adames. Garret Cole made $36 million last year to have worse FIP and WAR than Woodruff. Stephen Strasburg has made $35 million per season for three years while pitching less than 30 innings combined since 2020. Anthony Rendon made $36.5 million last season to underperform Luis Urias. Giancarlo Stanton made $29 million last season to have three times lower WAR than Tyrone Taylor. Trevor Story made $20 million last year to underperform Kolten Wong. Many big contracts do not add meaningful value to an organization.
  20. There is a lot of age in the Mets bullpen and rotation. There likely will be injuries. Correa has legitimate injury concerns, too. I don’t think the Astros, Braves, Nationals, Cubs or Royals in recent years ‘bought’ their WS titles. it would be great to buy every free agent but I don’t think those teams usually win the championship in the past decade. It would seem surprising if most or any of this year’s big name free agent contracts pay off in a meaningful way.
  21. Would we ever want Caleb Boushley to receive a start or appearance in September in Milwaukee rather than Alexander? I mean… Given the circumstances, not proactively.
  22. Would you prefer Matt Olson at $15 million? My point is dollar for dollar, Tellez is a good player. Not a championship-caliber, MVP player.
  23. .734 OPS for Benintendi in 114 AB for NY. Unfortunately, also injured with broken wrist.
  24. Josh Bell with .583 OPS in 105 AB since joining San Diego. Brandon Drury with .672 OPS in 100 AB since joining San Diego.
