    I think bullpenning for game three is reasonable. Quintana approximately once through the order then rotate power arms for the rest of the game. ♟️🔥

    We had no business in the 2020 post season. That was still an incredibly painful 1.2 IP from Suter.

    I trust Ashby can pitch a clean first inning. Plus, if we are going to face Michael Busch in the first inning, let it be against a LHP. Busch has been outstanding at the plate against RHP.

    Michael Busch will likely lead off. His OPS against LHP is .642 against LHP and .910 against RHP. Tucker doesn’t struggle against LHP. I suppose Counsell could move Busch to cleanup spot and stack three RHH at top of the lineup to counter? 🤷‍♂️

    Perkins has always been an easy guy to cheer for. I know what you mean when it seemed like he was lost at the plate in August. you read that a player is taking a three day bereavement leave but we never take a moment to reflect on how a death impacts the player.

    Let Priester benefit from the home crowd. Quintana will be fine on the road. My thought. Goodness, we can also string together multiple two inning appearances from anyone on the staff in game three, too.

    I trust @Brock Beauchamp and team will make a fancier version. Until then: Shota Imanaga has a career ERA of 5.73 and 1-3 record in 22 IP against Milwaukee. Imanaga allowed at least 3 earned runs in each of his final six regular season starts. Shota allowed 2 ER over 4 IP in the game two loss against San Diego. Neither team officially announced a starter for tomorrow. Maybe Counsell plans to bullpen? I assume the Cubs lineup will be identical to how it has been throughout the postseason.

    All of the Cubs leverage relievers are available in game two. 🤷‍♂️ I assume mostly Rea as the only long man in game two, though

    Phillies looked very good until they didn’t. Cristopher Sanchez is very tough. Teoscar with an opposite field HR was the difference.

    Burnes didn’t love being a Brewer. Adames did. I think Peralta likes it here, too. Doesn't mean we should want to resign any of them. Just let them play out their deal and take the pick.

    Game 1: Pivetta mowed down the Cubs through 4. Suzuki and Kelly hit solo HRs in 5th. Cubs bullpen was flawless. Game 2: Cubs played poorly, especially on offense. Padres record 11 K. Game 3: Cubs receive gifts from Darvish in 2nd inning. Cubs score only on solo HR after. Cubs pen runs out of gas and should have had bases loaded nobody out in the ninth. Padres had opportunities but the ninth inning could very easily had been a story of Counsell overusing his bullpen and it backfires in the end. One more out and Padres flip their batting order and Tatis/Arraez bat.

    Rea has 5.59 ERA against Milwaukee in 2025. Boyd has 7.84 ERA against Milwaukee in 2025. Too early to ‘bullpen’ game one

    Were there moments in the regular season when the Cubs defense thwarted the Brewers offense? I recognize the value of PCA. Dansby can be good but is aging. Nico is solid. I don’t buy Happ, Tucker or Suzuki as valuable defenders. Shaw has made good plays. I don’t much worry about first base defense.
