  1. Cubs were so close to snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, yet again.
  2. No one is more electric than Elly De La Cruz. 🙂
  3. Paying Adames in his 30’s for the player he sometimes was in his 20’s is not likely worth the investment. We would all have pitchforks out after one bad month after he signs a nine-figure deal.
  4. I bet Doug Davis is most rare 200+ K season
  5. Half game behind the Dodgers. 🤷
  6. Prior to the home run, Joey Ortiz had 1.8 wins above replacement level this season. Corbin Burnes has 2.
  7. Frelick: .656 OPS Taylor: .649 OPS 2024
  8. Does Counsell seem uncomfortable in Chicago? Genuinely
  9. Seems like a prime candidate to rake overseas.
  10. Just learned Craig Counsell was a Dodger once.
  11. Feel like someone can do better than this:
  12. I guess the .509 OPS over his last 60 AB means Contreras could use a break.
  13. Four shortstops in the infield is our new efficiency
  14. With the starting pitcher being left-handed, and an off day just three days ago, I don’t expect Contreras will sit today.
  15. Now the Reds have won seven straight. What an interesting month.
  16. The Brewers face the best starting pitcher in baseball, according to MLB.com’s latest Power Rankings. Strangely, I’ve never been less afraid for us to face ‘the best pitcher in baseball.’
  17. I should have gone with Skubal’s winning percentage has improved each year since 2020 since wins are all that matter 🙂
  18. Fascinating to see Skubal get incrementally better every year since 2020. 5.63 ERA 2020 4.34 ERA 2021 3.52 ERA 2022 2.80 ERA 2023 1.97 ERA 2024
  19. Having never seen Skubal pitch, I like our chances. We seem to be performing well in Detroit and could score just enough runs to be competitive.
  20. Burnes had 2.61 ERA in 38 IP in 2018. 8.3 K/9. 3.79 FIP Hall had 3.26 ERA in 19.1 IP in 2023. 10.7 K/9. 3.00 FIP Both were excellent during their post season debuts. I don’t think there was a tremendous difference between the start of their careers.
  21. If there was a survey on which pitcher wins a Gold Glove this year, wouldn’t it be Paul Skenes based only on hype? That is to say the Skenes brand name is 100x higher than Ortiz.
  22. 7+ WAR by age 25. Quite a regression.
