  1. Why would they be comfortable with Nottingham? He hasn't hit much at all above A ball except for 200 or so PA in Colorado Springs, a hitter's haven. Even there his numbers were good, not great. It was a given they'd add a veteran. We are on the same page bro.
  2. They desperately needed offense vs LA and Schoop wasn’t used. That should tell us all they think about him, let alone taking up most of our payroll flexibility.
  3. If they are using a 40 man on Kratz that means they aren’t yet comfortable with Nottingham.
  4. I’m assuming this is in blue.
  5. We came within one game of the World Series with Jhoulys Chacin and Wade Miley as our best starters. If there are actually people out there that voted against Counsell because of how he used his pitching staff, they are buffoons who should be stripped of their voting rights. Another +1 for this post. Chacin and Miley were his best starters. Let that sink in.
  6. Definitely. By all measures Counsel pushed the right buttons and got the most wins any manager could have out of this roster.
  7. Counsel is the best manager in the game. Joke of an award taking nothing away from the Braves guy, but he simply do as good a job a CC did.
  8. It won’t take long. All the Bucks needed was real coaching. Just let those bad contracts expire and we might have something. They do have a big decision with Middleton though.
  9. Paxton is one of the most sought after pitchers in baseball. A 30 year old lefty with two years of control? 1.09 Whip, 11.7 K/9. We just saw what guys like Happ and even Gio went for and that was 1-2 months and they aren’t anywhere near Paxton to say the very least. No we won’t get him for Ray and/or a bunch of B/C prospects.
  10. If we think Peralta can sustain his success we should be keeping him.
  11. Ray isn’t a 5 tool prospect because he can’t hit and his defense is meh. Power and Speed for sure. 5 tool no. Aguilar and Thames aren’t meaningful trade chips when you are talking elite deals. The best Jesus is a 1-2 war reliever with a few years of control. Thames has negative value at this point.
  12. Agree completely. Minor note, I’d add Vogt as our assistant bullpen coach.
  13. That would be one of the great trades of all time. We can only hope.
  14. The writer is essentially saying two years JTR will cost one premium prospect and two 50-100 caliber prospects. That seems very likely.
  15. No one want to pay for Davies when they have no intention of contending despite his value being higher than say a Dubon or a Nottingham. I’m actually a big Davies fan so I wouldn’t trade him at such a low point anyhow.
  16. Fangraphs says Hiura, Lutz, Ray FWIW
  17. JTR is going to be traded for an elite package of prospects. I am not saying the Brewers should or even could out bid that, but that is what he will go for. Our bargain bin of Anderson, Jesus, Dubon, Nottingham, Broxton, etc etc isn’t getting a 4.8 WAR catcher.
  18. When teams go to tear it down mode they want prospects in return.
  19. Jesus and Nottingham are throw ins in a JTR trade. The guy is a near 5 WAR 27 year old catcher for goodness sake. It would be Hiura and one of Burnes/Woodruff plus plus. I would deal Hiura but you can’t give up young battle tested MLB starters if you want to contend this year and next.
  20. I like this idea a lot. The Indians have a great approach to pitching. Read some of Bauer’s tweets (though not all lol) and you can see this is a really smart group.
  21. How does that make him intelligent? Seems keeping assets is important especially at such a low relative cost.
  22. That would be the steal of the century.
  23. No doubt. It's not easy being a superior athlete, we need constant fine tuning. Lol well I’m certainly no superior athlete
  24. Crazy they didn’t beat the Reds offer. A coach who helps $2M pitchers perform like $10M pitchers are worth a fortune.
