Every prospect has a specific value(**can greatly vary amping teams though**) and there is a reason for that. In general no prospect is overrated nor is any prospect underrated. So with that being said if you offer the equivalent value or better in what I want then that person is tradable. The only player that’s should ever be near “can’t trade” territory is someone who is really really special. A guy who could turn into a Trout/Stanton/Jeter/etc. where they make such a massive difference as one guy at pre-FA prices. Even then we see quite a few of those types of guys getting traded. There are a few guys I would shy away from in deals because I believe they would be harder to replace in the system: Hiura Lutz Ortiz Brinson Harrison I also would have a preference to trade guys who are at the end of the line with their prospect value and their MLB future potential is a little clearer. Which I think is something most MLB GMs tend to go with. You don’t see a lot of Tristan Lutz type players being traded. His surplus value is likely quite low, but the potential is exponentially higher. While his current value is correct(because so much of him is unknown) you sure would like to keep that player until you get a clearer picture.
