  1. This was a new one for me. Over the weekend I had a bad fever and then started having a painful spot above my collar bone with a little lump in it. Figured maybe it was a pissed off lymph node from being sick. Then skin around it turned red and warm. By Monday it was about the size of two cracked eggs in a pan, so off to the ER I went. They determined I had an infection and antibiotics are helping, although I can still feel the lump. no cuts, scratches or scrapes, so how on earth an infection like that would start up, I have absolutely no idea. But something like that can take down a healthy person for good. You just never know what kind of little goody is waiting around the corner.
  2. Figures that when he faces the cubs, that's when he has a bad day.
  3. Yes, seems we've all had the class delinquency dream. A recurring one I've had hundreds of times is finding money, then going to count it after I've picked it all up, and it turns out to be play money like from Monopoly. To the point where generally I sniff it out in the dream and can become lucid at that point. And likewise, if I happen to find money in my waking life, I do a quick reality check to make sure I am in fact awake.
  4. Since it "worked" on Wednesday, I decided to redo that breakfast again today. Tasty if nothing else.
  5. Yesterday's grocery trip brought a pleasant surprise. Here at the AC store in Bethel, Alaska they had just gotten in cheese curds, all the way from Ellsworth, WI. Don't ask what they cost, doesn't matter. This morning for breakfast I had half a leftover Reuf's brat, kraut, potato salad and cheese curds. Whether or not that voodoo can help the Crew get their act together today is anybody's guess, but I'm trying.
  6. I think this is appropriate. A lifetime ban is just that, a lifetime ban. In my opinion, Rose never had any business sniffing the hall until after he kicked the bucket, and I'm glad they never caved to that.
  7. I'm wondering how long until Perkins begins a rehab.
  8. It's likely I just couldn't find the signage I needed, but I certainly did wander around looking for it for a while before I gave up and just took a chance. Now that I remember it more, I checked the # in whatever concourse I'd arrived to from I believe MSP. So eliminated that one and I had a 50/50 chance when I hopped on the "all aboard" train thing. Boarding pass should've said terminal, but didn't. I really like airports that are more mid range. Big enough to have good amenities and options, comfortable, but not huge. ANC is great (I may be a tad biased but not by much) and if I'm heading down, I'll take PDX over SeaTac whenever I can.
  9. I don't know if it's changed, since this was I think 18 years ago when I had a connection there, but Denver International was an interesting one. I could not locate ANY signage for where my connecting flight was, and my ticket only had a gate number, no letter for which concourse. It was a tight turnaround too, so I got on the little train and picked a concourse (1 in 3 chance) and lucked out. It was in final boarding so there was no time for a wrong guess. Just bizarre.
  10. Speaking of the cubs, their box score from yesterday is quite nice.
  11. Thanks for that update, Ro. Just last week I'd searched up Phillips to see how his move to the mound was treating him.
  12. I love it when the Brewers win at baseball. This was a good tough win. Frosty Boys did great and Bauers spanked that double. Love it.
  13. With their 4-25 record and -78 run differential, I wonder how many games the Rockies can manage to lose this season. Holy crap they are terrible.
  14. I thought that as well. I honestly was a bit surprised NY traded for him for that reason, as I'd think they studied Devin extensively prior to the trade. His struggles there probably come as no shock to any of us who watched him with the Brew Crew. Someone mentioned a Jeffress-esque situation. It's early to call for that, but it would be compelling.
  15. It's early, things happen. They'll get better as the season goes on.
  16. Workman...there's a name I have not thought about since the early '90s.
  17. I wish I'd been first to this thread, that would have been my entry
  18. I haven't had the opportunity to watch any milb games yet this year. For some poster who's watched a fair share of Nashville, how has Durbin's defense looked at 3B this spring?
  19. Yeah that's a pleasure I had the opportunity to partake of just a couple weeks back. Hang in there, it'll be over soon.
  20. Go Dodgers feels like such a strange thing to say.
  21. My SOP is to bust out the 'ol Jump To Conclusions Mat whenever I hear the words "elbow discomfort." Unfortunately mine has TJ on the first 6 squares so I need to get a running start to land on something else.
