  1. Nice one, RRB. I'd already forgotten all about his brief tenure with the Brewers.
  2. FYI for folks out of market, tonight's game is on TBS.
  3. The only game I got to attend while I was in Wisconsin this summer was the Devin blown save vs the cubs. I had to hear that horrible song being played in cars as I walked through the parking lot. I want payback. Fly the L!
  4. That reminds me of how my best friend (RIP) and I used to refer to Gabe Gross as Gabe Disgusting.
  5. Steve Woodard.
  6. It's kind of like the Centralia coal mine fire. Kind of fascinating, honestly.
  7. When I saw the heat index I started thinking about Corbin's dizzy spell or whatever that was earlier this summer. Hopefully he's well hydrated.
  8. The letter is probably what I"m going to go with. Although I don't actually know their address, as it's all PO boxes in this town. So a note under the wiper of one of their police cruisers is what it'll have to be.
  9. I've got neighbors that keep a German shepherd tied up on their deck. Any time anyone or anything passes by it barks. It's annoying as all get out, and there's no way I can keep my window open to sleep at night. I'd go talk to them about it but there's no getting past that dog to knock on the door, and I've never once seen the people that live there. I'd put in a noise complaint with the city but, the neighbors are cops and my guess is it wouldn't take long at all for me to get pulled over after putting in a noise complaint on them.
  10. I watched him pitch in the College World Series this year and honestly I thought he looked ready to contribute to any MLB rotation.
  11. That's easy, cubs. Not for any strategic reasons. I just dislike them, their fans, and their city.
  12. The day after Elvis forgot about Elly on 3rd, he pitched like a man on a mission in the 7th to help shut down the Reds. But overall I agree with wiguy.
  13. I was looking forward to the drive to Wisconsin this summer but with the fire problems in Canada, and the likelihood of it worsening through July, I think I'm going to fly instead.
  14. The way he finished out last season, I had some hopes he might be ready to contribute for Milwaukee at some point this season and was keeping an eye on him. Seemed like inconsistency was his thorn. Probably won't take him long to get an opportunity with Oakland, so hopefully he's able to turn that into something.
  15. Something that occurred to me yesterday was the potential for stadium music shenanigans with Jordan Love as our QB. At home, there's no end to the love themed songs they could play. O'Jays Love Train, Beatles All You Need is Love come to mind. On the road, I wonder if anyone will go for J Geils Love Stinks. Or if he takes a tough hit, maybe Nazareth's Love Hurts.
  16. Sign forest is Watson Lake so yep that tracks. I fly at Christmas and sometimes in summer but my preference is to drive it. It’s a haul but I like the road and the scenery. Plus the town I’m in is sort of a landlocked island so when I get the chance I’m always ready to watch the windshield.
  17. Oh no arguments from me on that. I use their website mainly because their box scores format and load decently. Sports center once in a while I’ll watch and usually come away with affirmation of why I seldom watch it. I do sometimes get pulled in if a Brewer makes a great play, to see If he’s in the top 10.
  18. I love how the article on espn said "The first-place Brewers haven't had much go wrong, but now they will move forward without the upbeat Mitchell" Let's see...Ashby, Taylor, Houser, Woodruff, Varland, Urias, Mitchell all on the IL who else am I missing? Oh yes, Burnes' pec strain. Yeah that's not much wrong at all.
  19. I'm guessing the area with all the animals you're referring to is that stretch between Muncho Lake and Liard Hot Springs? There's always a ton of bison along the road every time I pass through there, not to mention all the other wildlife you're apt to see.
  20. I could be misremembering things here but I thought Lincecum's career was ended by problems with his hips not his labrum.
  21. Jean Segura is one that comes to mind as far as former Brewers comps goes.
  22. MVP: Co MVPs Adames and Urias CY: Woodruff ROY: Frelick BA Leader: Yelich HR Leader: Rowdy ERA Leader: Woodruff K Leader: Burnes WAR Leader: Woodruff Breakouts: Frelick, Varland, Uribe, Weimer Disappointments: Houser, Contreras, Bush, Anderson Bold predictions: Woodruff in top 5 for NL CY, receives MVP votes as well. Bullpen scuffles early, becomes a force in 2nd half. Record: 89-73 Playoffs: Yes, win the central, get hot, make it to WS with a little help from our enemies. Champions.
  23. I wanted to go with Greinke, but just can't do that over Freddy. I can see why he wouldn't have gotten through the first round, if I'd voted that round I'd likely have taken Capuano. No upsets for me in either bracket this round.
  24. I read the McCalvy article, I didn't get angry at it though. I think Keston and Counsell both acknowledged Hiura's struggles. It went on to discuss what he's working on with a swing revamp, adding a timing mechanism (toe tap) that hasn't worked for him yet. And it very well may not work for him at all. At this point, I'm fine with it if the Brewers decide it's time to move on from him, but I'm not mad at the guy about it. I don't get the impression that he's not trying.
