And the thing of it was, the storm that was anticipated ended up not really amounting to much of anything whatsoever, at least in Madison. So I was a little frustrated by it. I recall northern WI got absolutely dumped on from that one though.

This is what I'm hoping they are able to do, provided they can feel good about getting him up to, I don't know, 60-70 pitches. With the way Miley pitches, that should be good for about 4 innings, and I think that could be fine for a couple of starts with a planned tandem. Of course there's some risk in that, there always is.

I hate the cubs and he's a cub. So for me that part is really simple. I always liked CC but I don't anymore. Many have brought up the wondering what the disconnect was between CC and the Brewers FO, and I also wonder but I'm not going to speculate.

Agreed. I know I wouldn't have made that decision for several different reasons. Not the least of which being the fact that there's no amount of money you could pay me to live in chicago.

I'm curious to know the nature of the buyout in this contract. Most common scenario is the buyout occurs no matter which side declines the mutual option. But, apparently that is not always the case. -

Interesting seeing the mentions of Knebel here, but no mentions of the fact that in 2022 he ended up with a tear in his capsule. Not sure how exact of a comparison Knebel's 2022 injury is to Woodruff's in terms of severity but they are both capsule tears. Has anyone heard if Bird Dog's going to try a comeback or is he just done?

Seeing the memory of Lefty Driesell on the broadcast made me think back to that 01 NCAA tournament game. Felt confident Lefty and Georgia State would get the better of UW led by Soderberg, and thankful for it as that pretty well sealed the deal that a coaching change was coming. What a big step forward for UW that loss was.

Crazy to think how much value the Sox could end up getting off trading Quintana. All the years of Cease (11.8 WAR and counting) and Eloy they've had so far, not to mention the returns if they trade either or both of them. All for the 4 years 3.8 WAR Quintana got the cubs at 30 something million.

If people seek out to watch the commercials ahead of time, then the commercial thing is more alive than ever. Free air time for the advertisers. DO people really find leaked SB commercials and watch them ahead of time? I cannot imagine being that bored. -
It'd really be something if they could somehow manage to regroup and pull this off in the 2nd half.

The thing is, his situation would have been the same with any team (assuming he would have been a relief pitcher, of course) so his beef should have been with the system. Now, one interesting thought: is Hader's skill set singular enough where over more time as the lockdown fireman he could have influenced change to the arbitration valuation? I suppose probably not. But anybody who watched saw how valuable he was.
