  1. My thoughts too. I'll be pleasantly surprised if Nottingham's play this year forces his way into the roster, and I had high hopes for the guy.
  2. Not necessarily the end for him if it's meniscus and nothing more. As far as knee injuries go, a meniscus tear isn't bad. Nowhere near the level of ACL/MCL. On one side of the knee it gets enough blood flow to usually heal fine on its own, on the other side it requires surgery. Probably for an athlete it would require a clean out surgery either way.
  3. Where the heck are you getting your bananas? They're $0.39/lb at Kwik Trip! Hah yeah I wish they were that price here. I wish I were exaggerating, but that's the price. Here's the weekly flyer on the hot deals, in case you're interested. These are actually some pretty decent specials this week. https://www.alaskacommercial.com/flyers
  4. I didn’t see any of it, but when I looked at the box for the extra inning L the next day, I was thinking to myself why wouldn’t CC have had another inning for Josh.
  5. $2.69/lb seems like a really good deal for one of if not the best active relief pitcher in all of baseball.
  6. Finishing my work week with a cup of tea. There are a couple cans of Matanuska Brewing Company ale in my fridge, that'll go well with the Friday night ling cod fish fry this evening.
  7. Appears unconfirmed yet that Ketchup Sock was actually arrested, hence the deleted tweet.
  8. In the spirit of be careful what you wish for, consider that forfeiting all those games would all but guarantee the crads the #1 draft pick.
  9. Bravo, young guns. You inspired me to re-watch tlr's DUI arrest video.
  10. I seem to recall Scooter being steadfast in wanting $5million and a starting gig after last season, and when he didn't find it he decided to wait it out. Leche I would want no part of because I just don't think he would provide much of anything to this team.
  11. In the cardinals' case, they should have them play the games with plastic bags over their heads.
  12. That is what I'm thinking too, Plush. I figure any team who thinks they're out of it would have motivation to salary-dump their upcoming free agents just to help them lose less money this year.
  13. Yah, outside of major municipalities it's pretty much all 2 lane highways. The only major stretch of controlled access multi-lane freeway I can think of offhand is the Glenn/Parks Highway between Anchorage and Wasilla.
  14. Correct. The "here" part I guess is technically not true, as Bethel (where I live) is far from the connected road system and there's only a short half mile stretch of our main road where passing is legal. But on Alaska highways, that is the law.
  15. We have a law here that states if a driver has 5 or more vehicles they are holding up on a 2 lane highway, they must pull off and let them all pass when they get a safe opportunity to do so. I like that law, though I would like to see it obeyed more often. By far the biggest violators are people in RVs.
  16. Given what has transpired thus far I will be surprised if MLB isn’t shut back down within a week or two.
  17. This reminds me of a situation I had a few years ago. In a short stretch I ended up passing the same person at least 3 times while being on cruise control the entire time. It was really weird. That sounds like Minnesota plates.
  18. Another passing lane issue I encountered repeatedly driving the Seward highway yesterday is this: the road is a 2 lane, 55 or 65mph depending on area. There are sporadic passing lanes. People will drive 5-10 under the speed limit until there’s a passing lane then suddenly they go 5-10 over. So if you don’t want to be stuck behind a slow poke you’re passing at 80 and risking a ticket.
  19. Was that another bomb for #22?
  20. Trying to get a daily pass to drive a personal vehicle in Denali National Park. They release the passes 2 weeks prior to the date at 10 am. I keep trying to get one, am logged in and refresh my browser continually until the moment the passes are released. But still when I click it I’m too late and they’re all gone instantaneously. I’m becoming suspicious of whether there’s some kind of inside track some certain people have in order to secure the passes before proles like me get their chance.
  21. I am deeply saddened to see Notre Dame robbed of their opportunity to go get their tails kicked by the Badgers at Lambeau. My, how I had been looking forward to that game.
  22. Has anyone got any prime originals recommendations?
  23. For what it's worth, when I baked the leftovers at 250 for 2 hours they came out realllly good. And I redeemed myself on Monday by grilling a king salmon I caught out of the Kuskokwim that afternoon, it was a crowd pleaser.
  24. That’s a great saying. Do you sauce them periodically then? Maybe I’ll bite the bullet and get a thermometer to get the hang of the smoking temps.
  25. Yeah I don’t want falling-apart tender but I definitely wanted more tender than what I got. Wanted the fat and connective tissue broken down more. The 2 hours wrapped in foil was supposed to accomplish that and I think the next rack I do will turn out better. If I was eating alone I would have just let it go longer, but my girlfriend is one of those who go delirious when somewhat hungry and the clock was ticking. It wasn’t dog food but there’s room for improvement.
