  1. I’m happy to see them take on the ducks. Who else was there when Michael Bennett basically single handedly beat them in Madison?
  2. Hah I remember in college one time (uw-p) I was over in Dubuque and I asked someone if they knew where there was a Tyme machine. Also made for a confusing conversation. I had no idea they weren’t called that everywhere.
  3. Yes. And a blanket an "afghan."
  4. I’m not necessarily advocating for it, it’d obviously be a risk given his age, but I would be pretty excited to get Donaldson into the lineup. He’s probably the only currently established elite hitter I can believe there’s a non-zero% chance of signing as a FA.
  5. So what you're saying is.... We can revive Narvdog?!? We can and we must.
  6. If the Brewers had made this deal with him, I would be pretty frightened. Even if over the contract he performs to what his best seasons thus far have shown, I wouldn't want to pay him that much. Nevermind if he's hurt or ineffective or really goes down the tubes.
  7. We’d all love to see Nelson come back to Milwaukee and flourish. My inclination would be for some sort of an incentive-driven deal. A low minimum guarantee with a chance to make it a lucrative year for him if he rebounds. I think Jimmy is smart enough to understand why it was too big of risk to go to arbitration with us given the circumstances. I wonder if he believes in himself to go the route I mentioned. It could make for a better payout than he would have gotten if things go well. How should that be structured, and anyone else foresee him going for something like that with the Brewers?
  8. I guess I’m not geared for cities in general, first of all. I grew up on the east side of Madison and after I graduated I peeled on out of there. It was some good, good riddance. Now when I go back I throw up three fingers off the wheel and people look at me like I’ve got a third eye. Then I remember where I am. I can’t stand a place where nobody wants to know anybody.
  9. I’d be down with extending Arcia..at a low low price.
  10. Concrete. Woo. I mean yeah it’s a nice day out. That can happen anywhere. Man, I am telling you. There are other places. But if you’re happy there, I’m glad for you. I respect you as a Brewers fan and I certainly wish you nothing but happiness.
  11. My goodness. I got mixed up in my song titles in my chicago rant. I’m sorry. The name of the song you need to crank while you hate chicago is called the big country. Blast that one and hate yourself some chicago.
  12. Homer, I mean you no disrespect here. But point #4- most beautiful commute in the country...if you were trying to make me laugh, congratulations it worked. I fly into O’Hare every year at Christmas time to visit my family in Wisconsin. Every year as we descend into the chicago area I look out the window at dreary misery as far as the eye can see. Inside my head I can hear the Talking Heads playing the song Cities. I can hear David Byrne’s voice full of angst, shouting “I wouldn’t live there IF YOU PAID ME TOOOOOO!!!” I’ll concede that I too enjoy chicago sports radio when one of their teams has hit the skids. And chicago hot dogs are delicious. Other than that though? Definitely not for me. I’m not even going to start on the people.
  13. Does 9 consecutive gold gloves count as a stretch of elite play?
  14. Omar was especially special to watch in the field for a long time. When he was playing, I remember always hoping for a tough play to ss just to see him make the play. I think it’s erroneous to fail to recognize what a talent he was defensively. He was pretty good to mediocre with the bat. But he was other worldly on the diamond and that’s half the game. There have been plenty of great hitters who were bad defensively who got in. Were they as good of a baseball player? Vizquel established himself in another way. He is the gold standard for Venezuelan shortstops, is basically a livings legend. He did something that an entire generation from a country aspires to and nobody has touched his level of play for that amount of the time ever since.
  15. I've been a proponent of Vizquel for some time. He was a generational talent, defensively. I'd vote for him.
  16. Could somebody please provide a link to the website where one can get video of any mlb play?
  17. All I've gotten to see is a bit of Dark on youtube so far-I only learned about AEW from your post. That Darby Allin vs Cima match had me thoroughly entertained. I read that Malenko is a technical trainer for them, which certainly sounds like a good personnel move.
  18. I wouldn't say Garza lived up to his deal. He had a pretty decent first year, it was mostly injuries and garbage after that. Very inconsistent. As soon as he'd get it going, he'd get hurt. Wolfie, on the other hand, lived up to his until the last season. Lohse too.
  19. I wish they were still undefeated.
  20. I think they're all decent uniforms. I kind of like the cursive Milwaukee on Suter's jersey, although I'm not sure about the lines up the front.
  21. I just hope when we face yu again Yelich glances to the outfield a lot. Might as well get in the guy’s head if he’s so sensitive about where you look and when.
  22. penn state. I’m a die hard long time Badger fan. If they’d had the sandusky scandal I would be done. The fact that it ran so deep, everyone knows it, and they still pack happy valley chock full pisses me off. I’ve always have had chicago as #1 on my list of places I wouldn’t live even if you gave me a million dollars to live there. That’d be a second. What is the matter with people? And for you chicago Brewer fans here-good grief. You only live once. Why on earth would you spend ANY of your life there?
  23. Pretty sure they have to file in every state they play in throughout the season... https://deadspin.com/lets-take-a-look-at-andrew-mccutchens-pay-stub-1706188663 And now I've learned that there's a thing called the Jock Tax, and indeed that's a thing. Crazy, and I can't believe I never knew about it.
  24. I'm not saying the above is incorrect. I have zero idea about how an MLB player is paid. But if the above is correct, to me it's nuts. How many state income tax returns does an MLB player have to file then? I realize they have an accountant take care of it all for them but it's still insane.
  25. Apparently he thinks Supak is going to be demoted to rookie league this upcoming season.
