  1. Count me in the camp of Cain believers. Yeah he had a down year offensively but I don’t think he’s going down the slide already. I want him on the team.
  2. Not to be a Debbie Downer, but fielding percentages for a 1B are pretty worthless. For example, Prince had .997 for us in 2010. Good for a -2.8 dWAR. Last year Encarnacion was good for a -.8 dWAR in his 57 games at 1B with his .996% I'd rather have Thames.
  3. There are few pleasures as singular and true as watching a new england kicker shank the crap out of a fg attempt. Too bad they’re still going to win. I want to watch their frumpy prick suffer on the sidelines. Maybe at our hands in the superb owl? One can only hope.
  4. I think Iowa’s a tossup. Ought to beat Nebraska and Purdue. Right now I just want the axe back. To me that’s the most important game left including whatever bowl they end up with.
  5. Did they even look at it?? I am so sick and tired of replay. They whiff on it all too often and to me it’s just insane. How can they royally screw up calls when it’s on slow-mo video? It’s like they’re on drugs. I can accept a ref on the field messing up. I cannot accept a replay mistake because it’s clear. It’s inexcusable.
  6. That’s such a stupid call.
  7. I hate ohio state. How do they have so many fans? How does anyone NOT hate ohio state?
  8. I don't like 'scuse me. In my mind I think to myself why should I move out of your way when you're too lazy to say the ex in excuse? The only time 'scuse me is acceptable to me is when Matthew Quigley says it.
  9. Sounds like an Adam & Eve novelty.
  10. I had a terrible feeling about that. I'm glad to have been wrong.
  11. I don't know how they can say seals the game at this point.
  12. re: the hands to face flag. Did #90 smack him in the facemask early on? It looked like possibly. Otherwise, the flag is a mystery to me.
  13. Took Nilsson quite some time to recover. Between that and going away for the olympics and then calling it a day, his career could’ve been so much more. Does Steve Sparks dislocating his shoulder attempting to tear a phone book in half qualify?
  14. I’m having a hard time with this nats dodgers game. On the one hand I hate the dodgers but I figure they’ll trounce the cards. On the other hand I’m neutral on the nats but I’d predict cards to beat them. I wish I already knew the stros rays outcome. Because I’d say go cards, beat the nats, go to the ws, get swept. As it is, I’m torn up in damage control limbo. Edit- I said that wrong. Way wrong. If Houston is going to win tomorrow I figure they are World Series bound. In which case I’d be ok with nats winning tonight with the guess they’ll lose to cards next setting st louis up for getting a beat down in the ws. It’s hard to find a scenario to root for right now...
  15. How about a picture depicting Molitor with a suitcase with a YYZ bag tag?
  16. Hah that's kind of amusing. I guess this whole restaurant business just doesn't matter to me one bit. I only get to a game or two per year so when I go I'm in my seat soaking up the experience.
  17. In my opinion: You’re low on Big Pom and Moose, too long on Lyles, we cannot afford the Grandal proposal. I want Moose back though. QTC I doubt 40 man. Doubt Hummel too. Your guy Cam no way. That Mogi find is intriguing. I haven’t seen him so I cannot say more than that. I like the thought though. I’d love for those types of deals to happen with. Big Sweat and JJ and to watch them make the team, rise back to glory. Anderson bullpen? He’s not worth that money in that role. I don’t know about Madison. I think he’s worth the money on paper but I plain don’t like him. The trades I’m not even touching, someone else probably will. I always admire your creativity and all, and you’ve got some good ideas in there. Just my .02$
  18. Did Florida wear these helmets when they played Miami? Because that would’ve been hilarious.
  19. Wow. I mean I knew going in that Kent had no chance, but that was like the Jerome Bettis on your flag football team commercial.
  20. Getting old. 11 days ago something in my knee tweaked when I was getting out of bed. It got stiff and sore but I was able to get around without any problem, figured it would heal up and be forgotten. Then I had to take a couple flights this week scrunched up in a Cessna 207. Now that knee is all swollen and sore and a genuine problem. I’m on the couch with my ice machine and thinking to myself- so this is the way it’s going to be now. Any time I move I am at risk of hitting the IL. Getting out of bed?? Good grief.
  21. In my eyes not only is Moose more likely to be signed, he’s more likely to be worth the money, and also a bigger difference maker. Even if you want to theorize Shaw gets his mojo back Moose is also ok at 2b. Also Moustakas just doesn’t seem like a guy who is going to fall off a cliff. I don’t think Grandal will either but a contract on him is really risky. It’s about at the juncture of when Toronto decided to pay Russell Martin. Seemed like a great idea at the time. If we’re talking moose OR yaz I want moose. Nothing against Grandal exactly but it is very risky in my opinion.
  22. I have a huge fondness of baseball for the sake of watching baseball. I got old enough to get serious about being a Brewers fan over 30 years ago. I remember the World Series a bit but Team Streak got me hooked. Since then there’s been 5 seasons where I could dream on a championship. I didn’t just tune out the other 27 years. So I’m a fan and in general I love the game the characters and the endless possibilities that exist from one game to the next. Never forget the joy and simplicity of a weird game on a July Wednesday night even if you’re already 10 below 500. With all that said I still clamor for, dream of, and believe in the chance for a championship. And Jericho, you say it won’t mean much to you but tell me that after it happens. I sat in Camp Randall through the Jim Hillis year, the Don Morton years, and then when the Badgers won the 94 Rose Bowl it was amazing the euphoria that came with it. 25 years later I can still see that Bevell TD run and get goosebumps. A Brewers world championship will beat that all to hell.
  23. It's cathartic watching the aftermath of a terrible loss like this reverberate through the death growls of the IGT. It's a good way to shake it off, and your best chance at achieving restful sleep. Crap what an unfortunate finish.
