  1. One of my absolute favorite things about baseball is ridiculous plays. Especially so when it’s not done by a man in a Brewers uniform.
  2. In Baltimore do they conduct interviews in the middle of a recycling facility?
  3. I cannot envision any team being overly confident facing The Brewers in any playoff scenario.
  4. O'NEILL'S THREE-HOME RUN GAME POWERS REDBIRDS PAST SKY SOX By Sky Sox PR / Colorado Springs Sky Sox This Tyler O'Neill kid could give us some problems in years to come. He sure gave the Sky Sox problems today, belting 3 home runs. Sky Sox pitchers surrendered 15 hits, 5 home runs, and just 1 walk today. Andres Blanco got his 6th long ball, but otherwise it was a quiet day for the bats. Sky Sox Box Score: Sky Sox Game Log: Sky Sox Hitting Highlights: Andres Blanco 1-2, HR(6), BB, 2RBI (34) Jake Hager 1-3, BB Orlando Arcia 1-4 Sky Sox Pitching: Adrian Houser 4.2, 8H, 4ER, 4K, 4HR Bubba Derby (L, 4-5) 2.0, 5H, 3ER, 1BB, 3K, 1HR Michael Brady 1.1, 2H, 1K
  5. Hot Rods Blow Past Rattlers Bowling Green beats Wisconsin 10-5 By Chris Mehring Rattlers Box Score: Rattlers Game Log: Nightmares in the 3rd and 4th inning for Dylan File provided the Hot Rods all the runs they needed today. There were some nice days had by some individuals for Wisconsin today, but they fell to 44-54 on the year. Wisconsin hitting highlights: Darren Seferina: 2-4, BB Tristen Lutz: 2-4, BB KJ Harrison: 3-4, 2 2B (21), 4RBI (36) Wisconsin Pitching: Dylan File (L, 6-7) 3IP, 10H, 8ER, 2BB, 3K Cody Beckman 4IP, 2H, 3K Rodrigo Benoit 2IP, 2H, 2ER, 1BB, 2K
  6. I drove on up the alcan, Wisconsin up to mat-su valley, so I was out of the loop for a while, no signal my phone could use. I was hoping to find happier brew crew news when I got tuned back in. 5 game sweep really makes me long for the days when we owned the Pirates. Good to see they conquered kershaw today though.
  7. Whenever I read Brice Turang’s name, in my head I read it in Lurch’s voice. “Tuuraaang?”
  8. Coming into tonight's game Holaday had thrown out 14 out of 25 stolen base attempts. I'm not saying don't run on him, but I shouldn't have to.
  9. I would be more comfortable with Burnes for another inning over Knebel in the 9th. I agree.
  10. A couple wild ones I'll chalk up to nerves. I honestly would have been fine with it if CC had opted to give Burnes the 9th too, and rest Knebel. But, oh well.
  11. I'm going to have to go ahead and disagree with you on that one. Not saying the Brewers shouldn't have overcome and won-they should have, they squandered opportunities, and they made mistakes. However, there is no getting around the fact that the blown call on a very obvious strike 3 (2.9" in from edge) before the Castro home run gave Miami a run. Called correctly, the Crew wins it in 9.
  12. It seems like day after day the umpires' strike zones favor our opponents. This game was a struggle, and the Brewers made mistakes, but with non-crappy blue, we win.
  13. Jesus struggled to step on first before throwing for an easy double play.
  14. Did anybody else catch the Aguilar segment on Intentional Talk today? I've never watched that show before, so I have no idea if those guys always ask athletes such idiotic questions or if today was their goofy pills day. They made sure to ask him which Brewer would be the worst boxer. It sounded like he answered "Brown" which makes about as much sense as the question. They also asked whether or not Jesus would slide down Bernie's slide naked. It doesn't sound like he plans on doing so.
  15. Listen to the roar of that crowd after Castro's leadoff double. Deafening.
  16. Tangent: This past weekend on a road trip we listened to some Sirius XM, the Outlaw Country channel. It turns out Hillbilly Jim has a show on Saturdays and Sundays. Good stuff!
  17. I knew it wasn’t going to happen, but I would have loved to pick CC up on a 1 year deal this past winter. On topic, I wish Yost had been more savvy in 08. Staff was already running on fumes when Sveum took over and it didn’t have to be that way.
  18. Shuckers and BayBears Suspended Game Will Resume At 5:35 PM Monday With A Seven-Inning Game To Follow By Garrett Greene Game suspended during the bottom of the 5th, right after Corey Ray hit his 12th home run of the season, a 2 out 2 run shot to right center to tie the game at 2 apiece. Hopefully the Shuckers snap the skid when the game concludes. Also, hopefully we'll see Hiura appear in the lineup.
  19. Jankins' Quality Start Not Enough as Shuckers Drop Fourth Straight Ray Clocks 11th Homer of the Season in Loss By Spencer Siegel Thomas Jankins struggled early on tonight, putting the Shuckers in a hole they never climbed out of. They made it close thanks to a Corey Ray 2 run homer and Tyler Heineman RBI single, making it a 4-3 ball game until the Bay Bears struck Nate Griep with a 2 out grand slam in the top of the 9th. Biloxi Box Score Biloxi Game Log Shuckers Hitting Highlights: Corey Ray 1-4, HR(11) 2 RBI (37) BB Tyler Heineman 2-4, RBI (13) Luis Aviles Jr. 2-4 Gabriel Noreiga 2-4 Blake Allemand 2-4 Shuckers Pitching: Thomas Jankins (L, 8-4) 7.0, 11H, 4R, 2ER, 0BB, 5K Jon Perrin 1.0, 1K Nate Griep 1.0, 3H, 4R, 4ER, 2BB, 2K, 1HR
  20. I figured Keon's snow cone had a good shot at being #1 on sports center. What a day for Broxton. His 2nd home run was not meaningless, either. Without it, Counsell very well might have used Knebel to get that final out in the 9th.
  21. Mobile Downs Biloxi Despite Shuckers Slam BayBears Records Double-Digit Hits for Second Straight Night By Spencer Siegel Biloxi Box Score Biloxi Game Log When you're down 8 runs, one way to tie the game up is with a couple grand slams. Unfortunately, the Shuckers only got one from Gabriel Noriega, and went on to lose it 9-5. It was a forgettable night for Biloxi pitching. In total, Shuckers surrendered 14 hits, 7 walks, 2 home runs, 1 wild pitch and 3 hit batters. Ouch. Tomorrow Thomas Jankins gets the start, and it's $5 burger and margarita night at MGM park in Biloxi. Things are bound to get better. Biloxi Bottom of the 6th Max McDowell walks. Corey Ray doubles (21) on a line drive to right fielder Brendon Sanger. Max McDowell scores. Troy Stokes Jr. singles on a ground ball to center fielder Brennon Lund. Corey Ray to 3rd. Troy Stokes Jr. to 2nd on the throw. Keston Hiura pops out to first baseman Jared Walsh in foul territory. Lucas Erceg grounds out, pitcher Jesus Castillo to first baseman Jared Walsh. Blake Allemand walks. Gabriel Noriega hits a grand slam (1) to left field. Corey Ray scores. Troy Stokes Jr. Blake Allemand scores. Pitching Change: Ralston Cash replaces Jesus Castillo. Trent Grisham strikes out swinging. Biloxi Hitting Highlights: Gabriel Noriega 1-4, HR(1), 4RBI (6) Corey Ray 1-4, 2B (21), RBI (35) Biloxi Pitching: Kodi Medieros (L, 5-4) 4.0, 8H, 4R, 3ER, 2BB, 2K, 1HR Cody Ponce 4.0, 4H, 4R, 4ER, 3BB, 3HBP, 1HR Brad Kuntz 1.0, 2H, 1ER, 2BB, 1K
