  1. He's had very good numbers all season. He's definitely a good pitcher, but the Brewers make him look even better.
  2. Play of the year there by Prince. Everyone thinks Sheets is "trying to be the man." What does that even mean? Isn't it more likely that he's fatigued, and therefore has lost some command? He's #1 in pitcher abuse points.
  3. Kapler really sucks. His first month was smoke and mirrors. How can Doug Melvin say the team is going for it and then keep Kapler as the FOURTH outfielder? They needed a lefty-hitting guy to be the fourth outfielder.
  4. To me this is a big concern. Sheets hasn't had his control in five weeks.
  5. Don't people think it's possible, if not likely, that Ned isn't so "it's no big deal" when the media isn't around?
  6. Not going to Lollapalooza, but am going to an after-show with Brand New and Manchester Orchestra at the Chicago House of Blues. Lollapalooza is also preventing us from finding a hotel room anywhere near the HOB.
  7. "Today's Carsoup Question: What on Earth do you mean when you say the Brewers rely on the home run ball too much?" How do we make that happen?
  8. Weeks had a good year last year, so not sure where "3 years of awful" comes into play. And Weeks dominated the minor leagues, while Gwynn has never been an average hitter in the minors. I don't see how the argument holds water.
  9. "A few times a year..." That right there is why I have no intention of getting married any time soon. What you get a few times a year I can have all the time. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  10. What a dumb lineup. Hall against a righty, and Yost also benching Weeks for one play despite his best stretch of the season.
  11. No it's not that bad at all. As long as they don't get swept it won't be an overly bad situation. I'll be at the next two, so I'd appreciate it if the only time I had to hear from Cub fans about beating the Brewers is before today's game.
  12. I'm all for finding a lefty-hitting replacement for Kapler.
  13. That's quite possibly true. If Weeks can put up, say, an .850 OPS the rest of the way it would be a huge lift.
  14. Yeah, cause Francisco Cordero and Doug Davis worked out terribly.
  15. Gwynn has a .679 OPS in AAA this year and you think he has nothing left to prove there? Also, I don't see any way Atlanta doesn't pick up the option on Jones.

  20. Berkman has had the best season by far. Depends on how you define MVP.
  21. Mickey, they had interviews in the clubhouse with Bill Hall and Craig Counsell. Pedro Gomez was doing a feature on how the Brewers are selling out a ton of games, and said something like "it's almost as hard to get a ticket here as to a Badgers or Packers game." They played all of the top plays from the game, most of which were shown with BA's call on FSN. It was a Brewerfest, and it was bizarre.
  22. I was making fun of that myself. Although I have to say it felt like the twilight zone today with like ten minutes of Brewer-Cubs coverage on Sportscenter.
  23. I can't believe what a joke that post was by Tom H. That was hilarious. I think "It's big boy time" will be my new sig.
  24. Last night was about as bad as a game can get for a player, but I really find all this "that's the last straw!" talk to be very oddly timed. Weeks has a .923 OPS since the All Star Break and plays better defense than Ray Durham. No other 2b on the roster has the capability of putting up those types of numbers. Don't you think this is mainly overreaction from one terrible game? Weeks had been playing well before yesterday.
