  1. The Brewers had a very good offense last year with somewhat underwhelming seasons from Fielder and Braun. They're going to have a very good offense this year. Only way they're .500 is if the injury big hits them harder than "normal." The defense is bad, but it's no worse than last year, really. Betancourt sucks, but Cruz and Counsell are better defensively than Escobar was last year, so hopefully the difference at short is negligible after Betancourt loses the regular job within a month.
  2. This team's fatal weakness was having no banger inside. Leuer is a rounded player but not a banger. Nankivil is a softy who's timid with the ball and is strictly a perimeter player. Not what you're looking for from a 6'8" power forward-type body. Worst part is, it will only be worse next season. Who will be the inside guys? Berggren, Ryan Evans (yikes), and...? Last 5 NCAA tourney losses: Butler, Cornell, Xavier, Davidson, UNLV. And 4 weren't even really close. Now THAT is frustrating.
  3. I really don't understand how a guy who shoots 25-30 shots a game, shoots threes from all over the court but only makes 40% of them, and plays no defense can be a great player.
  4. Georgia, on the other hand, is not better than Marquette.
  5. Brutal matchup. Belmont should have been a 10 or 11. I think Marquette and Wisconsin are probably both out in the first round.
  6. After they pulled this crap last year, I swore I wouldn't get as invested in Wisconsin basketball. I still watch all the games, but I'm just not letting myself get excited for the tournament anymore. Bo Ryan's teams disappoint at this time almost every year.
  7. This is like the Michigan St. Wisconsin Final Four game.
  8. Two points in ten minutes lol
  9. Annual March collapse for Wisconsin? How long til they score today? Been 7 minutes already.
  10. He was 7-21 shooting before that shot. I wouldn't really want him on my team. He's definitely talented, but he's a volume shooter who takes too many bad shots.
  11. Big East is fascinating in the sense that they have about 7 teams that would be about 3rd or 4th in the Big Ten. If that makes it a great conference, well, ok.
  12. I fully expect to see DiFelice on the team for the majority of the season, whether he makes the opening day roster or not. So for long shot, I'll say Luis Cruz, hoping that Betancourt's leash is short.
  13. Nope. In fact, I thought the call overall was weak. He seemed to be rooting for Michigan, as he sounded much more excited when they did something.
  14. I couldn't stop laughing. Horrible way to lose, but it's Michigan, so I love it.
  15. Weeks hasn't had a bad season; he's had injuries. He performed at a high level the years he was injured as well. The concern with the injuries is mainly whether he'd be able to recover and still perform at a high level. He proved he can last season. Your opinion is your opinion, but I wouldn't take Uggla over Weeks. Uggla isn't a second baseman; he just plays second base. His defense is terrible and he should be moved to third or a corner OF.
  16. This is all so ridiculous. Contracts are based off what a player will do, not what he has done. Saying he hasn't had the career of Uggla to this point is meaningless. Who's expected to be the better player in the next five years? The guy who was more valuable last season, or the guy who is 2.5 years older and already can't play second base? Weeks will be worth more than Uggla, and if the Brewers won't give him that contract, someone else gladly will.
  17. Gamel is probably the fifth best hitter in the organization. Keeping him in AAA is absurd.
  18. Why would he ever agree to a deal with two club option years?
  19. Pearl St. Brewery, City Brewery, Fayze's for breakfast/brunch, The Pearl for ice cream, Piggy's if you feel like a good steak, Buzzard Billy's for a more inexpensive lunch/dinner (compared to Piggy's), or the Eagles Nest if you want a sports bar.
  20. Wow, was that Weeks bobble an all-fan giveaway? How did I miss that?
  21. Unless I'm mistaken, Rickie Weeks still hasn't had a bobblehead! They'd have to do it this year, right?
  22. Number one is definitely No. 162 of '08. I was in La Crosse with some college buddies. We were out the night before, and I literally couldn't enjoy myself because I was so sick with nerves. My friends kept making fun of my repeated giant exhales. A distant second would be Game 3 of the Phillies series, but that's because I had tickets to Game 4 and desperately wanted to go to a playoff game.
  23. The Brewers have a real chance to be very good, and he has a real chance to sabotage that. There's no reason for him to be the opening day shortstop, but if he's still starting after, say, six weeks of terrible play, I'll be really upset. There are better options on free agency now. There's no reason not to upgrade.
  24. It sure appears that way to an extent, but fortunately for the Rockies they play at Coors Field.
