  1. What is Contreras' choice? Get his feelings hurt, not play as well, and affect future earnings? If the Brewers offer him the most money when he hits free agency, the 2025 arb hearing will be only a memory. I felt the same way when Burnes was whining. His only choice was to pitch as well as he possibly could. And William, if you get to the playoffs again, don't OPS .333.
  2. Are MLB teams getting any money from all the gambling on the sport?
  3. SMH when I see the Orioles getting praise for drafting 1st, 5th, 2nd, 1st and 11th for five straight years. I know there are no sure things in baseball, but those are some nice apples to get a bite at.
  4. It seems to be agreed that the projections often underestimate the Brewers, whether it is due to not having enough data on young players, or the projections not valuing defense properly. Can one of you smart people compare the 2024 projections vs 2024 reality and tell me how many games they will win this year based on that? If projected 2024 WAR was x, and final 2024 WAR was x+3, that ended up with 93 wins. May be useless, but I would appreciate it.
  5. My entire Christmas haul was Brewer gear. Have my plane ticket to Spring training bought, several games at AmFam picked and bought. Let’s go!
  6. Couldn't resist. Trigger warning!
  7. Good game-day restaurants all around the park. Willie’s tacos, other places whose names I can’t remember. Anything to take attention from that dark mausoleum of a park.
  8. Yikes. The spread between 1 and 2 is the same as the distance between 2 and 9. Let's see the Pack nudge that number over 70.
  9. Bought my plane ticket already!
  10. The Bucks have draft picks?
  11. I was referring to this part of the quote: Would have been nice to know that before the other younger CBs transferred out looking for playing time. I don't expect Lucas to come back, but perhaps one of the other DBs who left could reconsider.
  12. As Kekahuna showed, you can often come back to the team from the portal.
  13. I would love to see the Jets bring Rodgers back and draft a quarterback to develop. I am sure Rodgers would be a valuable mentor to the man replacing him. I'll buy the popcorn.
  14. Tammy Faye: The Musical closed after only five days.
  15. I don't recall Bauers playing many games at DH with Hoskins at 1B. You are correct; but I think starting Bauers at DH and Hoskins at 1b in game 1 of the Mets’ series is probably burned in our brains.
  16. Hey, the Brewers' manager has a Manager of the Year award. **Check** Cubs' manager doesn't. **Mate**
  17. I have real respect for the person filming that. Were they skating backward the whole time? And framing it perfectly. Well done!
  18. Cub fans believe that a trade for Luzaedo is imminent.
  19. Bucks shot better from 3 than they did from 2. A 51-15 advantage from three is a good formula
  20. Today I learned that "chalk and cheese" is an expression meaning that they are opposites. Enjoyed the rest of the article, too.
  21. I'd be willing to play with that a little bit if you define what "out-hits their opponent" means. Sheer number of hits? Total bases? Seems like a fun project.
  22. I avidly await the first team that doesn't blink and lets their QB walk instead of paying him. I think the 49ers might be the first. We are getting to what, $70 million for the next QB contract? For Brock Purdy? This year there has been a lot of buzz about the resurgence of the RB position with Henry, Barkley and Jacobs all being excellent as FA acquisitions, and what Montgomery (RIP) and Gibbs are doing in Detroit.
  23. Please keep Civale. I will believe Woodruff is back when he is actually back. Maybe not even then. I'll let you know in October. 4374 outs needed in 162 games, give or take. A guy like Civale, who can get 450-500 of them, is incredibly valuable. Cortes, Peralta, Myers, the same. Several hundred more from some other starters, then start up the bullpen shuttle to get the rest of them.
