  1. Yankees have lost a lot of arms this offseason already - I'm not sure they are keen to lose two more for a rental.
  2. I'd rather give a chance to a journeyman like Rea with no real baggage or big personality when the team is already seemingly gelling from a personality and togetherness standpoint (at least as far as we can tell as observers.) Bum's ceiling isn't very high at this point and even though he's a name, doesn't mean he's any better than trying to find depth elsewhere.
  3. Hopefully every Brewer fan and their wallet.
  4. In the unlikely scenario the Dodgers release him and he winds up on the Brewers, you can consider me a Twins fan.
  5. Just read Matt Bush's wikipedia page. Wow, what a trip. Don't love rooting for this guy, but I hope he has figured out his life and pitches well for the crew.
  6. Also it's a massive oversimplification of the situation. The Brewers have another relief pitcher who is arguably better than Hader, and definitely cheaper than Hader. Having two legit closers is a luxury and if one can fill other holes immediately it might be worth it to spread out those assets into other areas of the team. It's not like they would trade Hader for exclusively minor league guys.
  7. Since there's smoke around Hader, let's get wild. Yankees get: Josh Hader Brewers get: Juan Soto Nationals get: Jackson Chourio Aaron Ashby Anthony Volpe Ethan Small Yankees Prospect Who says no first? Everyone? I think probably the Yankees don't give up Volpe for Hader. Brewers lose two big leaguers but they lighten to load of prospects lost (none of the outfielders) and are lost from positions of strength. You could also swap out Small for like Turang or someone.
  8. I'm just going off the first tweet reporting it that says they are interested in a team's top 4 prospects. If they want major league pitching to compete now then I would do either one of Peralta/Ashby and also Houser if they wanted.
  9. COULD be - we have to develop him first thought and our track record with bats is not so great. What could be more special than Ohtani? And who is to say that a player from Japan who gets his first taste of a successful organization in the playoffs every year wouldn't fall in love with the city of Milwaukee like another transcendent foreign superstar?
  10. He has one more year of arbitration after this if I am understanding it correctly. And Our top 4 prospects aren't THAT special. Give them 5.
  11. The Angels are apparently now willing to listen on Ohtani offers. I for one would trade almost anything it takes to bring him in. He would immediately be the best bat in our lineup and another very good arm in our rotation. Churio, Ashby, Small, Weimer, and Turang. I would do that in a heartbeat. Not only that, but he's here throughout our window and he is an international superstar. I think he's the best player in baseball AND underrated.
  12. When was the last time the Brewers developed a good hitter? Braun? Taylor and Hiura are both below average but might be the closest thing. Who is to say that any of these hitting prospects develop into solid every day bats in the Brewers system? None of them should be untouchable in the right deal and it's no guarantee that even a bat who succeeds after being traded by the Brewers would have also been successful here.

  14. Worst case scenario, he's a depth mop-up guy. Can't have too many of those especially with option limits this season.
  15. Guy has a 13 million dollar player option in his age 45 season.
  16. There has been a lot of chatter about the Yankees looking to shop Luke Voit after acquiring Rizzo. Seems like some other teams don't subscribe to the Brewers theory of collecting a bunch of talented players and then figuring it out as they go. What would it take to bring in Voit? Tellez has been hot, but Voit led the AL in HRs last year in a short season. He's having a down year but he's got a lot of control left and the Yankees seem to have little leverage with him. Maybe worth getting him? If not for this year, for the following years.
  17. In 7 games against the Dodgers in his career, Lauer is 5-0 with a 2.11 ERA across 42.2 innings. LET'S GO!!!
  18. Feeling a bit nervous about this series. Cubs are also coming in off a big sweep and their backs are more to the wall and possibly they are more pumped up after dropping both recent series to the Crew. I hope tensions don't bubble over. Hopefully I'm wrong, but this just seems like a trouble series and I don't like seeing the same team so often.
  19. Hoping the batters stay hot and benefit from seeing this guy twice in a row. Hopefully the Cubs stay cold and fail to figure out Freddy. Also don't hit Contreras we don't need that kind of drama.
  20. They are saying now Hader and a "bad Brewer contract" which is ******** because the Brewers aren't gonna spend any of those savings on good players anyways.
  21. I'd say no. Urias can play all over.
  22. Bullpens don't need to be full of all-stars to be considered an area of strength. Not many bullpens have anything close to a one-two of Hader and Williams. Suter has been very good in the past, Peralta shows an enourmous upside, Rasmussen and Topa could take big steps and have a lot of tools, etc. Stearns has a track record of finding young pitchers who take big steps each year.
  23. My prediction is that Logan Morrison is going to be the annual guy who breaks out big time for the Brewers as a surprise, is counted on as our opening day 1B the next year, and then crashes and burns hard and we don't have a suitable replacement lined up. At least we're on the good half right now!
