  1. The monthly splits for all those Biloxi guys are pretty nuts. Lara and Luke Adams are being held down by terrible Aprils too.
  2. He’s got a cool body type. Long limbs, tiny torso, kind of hunchy. He’s listed as 6’3” but I bet he pitches way bigger.
  3. I really like Dubanewicz. Seems like between the late round picks and the Priester trade, we want those back rotation guys to be pitching to contact.
  4. I wish they’d add some age context to this as our R, A, A+, and AA all seem to be the youngest teams in the leagues.
  5. Will Adams ever be treated as an actual big time prospect? He's been maybe the best bat in all of the minors for nearly 2 months now and no one in the prospect world wants to talk about it. Batting leadoff (29 games, 93 ABs), he has a .312/.508/.624 slash line....
  6. Luke Adams' April slash line is actually worse than it looks. The last 7 games of April accounted for 7 of his 13 hits for the month, all but two of his 2Bs, and all 4 of his HRs. That's when he took off, it just happened to be buried under an absolutely terrible start. Turned his .118/.297/.157 slash line into a .173/.326/.387 in the last week of the month.
  7. I’m all in on Conrad as a cheap injury guy with our first.
  8. What does the data say on Di Turi? Any EV stuff? He’s sneaky put together a great year for a teenager in A ball. Gonna out OPS Made soon enough.
  9. I love that all the scouts going to see the A+ Dodgers have to watch Baez and Arenamo’s weirdo swings work.
  10. Looked it up and Knoth went into early August. My bad, remembered it as June/July.
  11. Baez and Alastre have been very good the last few weeks for the Rattlers. No power, but holding their own as 19 year olds in A+. Both started off absolutely terrible so the stats won’t look good, but they are fueling this turnaround just as much as the big bats.
  12. Hell yeah. Any word on Knoth? Pretty sure they (Him, Broughton, and Robinson) all went down at the same time last year.
  13. The transition from low levels being the favorite child to now A+ and up all being stacked and fun lineups is wild.
  14. Anyone got a velocity on Dubanewicz? Whole lotta ground balls.
  15. Dubanewicz looks like he’s 90% arms and legs. Very short torso. 1-2-3 first on 9 pitches. Didn’t get a read on velocity.
  16. I agree with more bats this year (we took 17 pitchers last year!?!?), but our .200 hitters in A and A+ aren’t the same as everyone else’s. Outside of Walling and Walter, I’m pretty sure they are all teenagers. We have guys playing above their level and out of position just to get ABs pretty much across the board at the lower levels. An army of potential utility guys. That’s our roster filler. That’s kind of the strength of our system. Those college bats taken in rounds 5-20 are basically just roster filler taking ABs away without near the ceiling of the guys we have already. They’d all be putting up .200s in A ball at 19 too. We are at the point where a lot of kids are going to repeat A and A+ until they become college pick age. Coincidently, Carolina might not have much room next year for starting pitching due to all the high school arms taken last year (and returning TJ guys like Knoth, Broughton, and Robinson). Wouldn't be surprised if we went heavy on bats early, then college bullpen arms, then assorted high school projects late.
  17. Having all our underrated prospects in High A show out against the Dodgers’ superhumans feels pretty good.
  18. Baseball America has a chat going on right now and it sure looks like we are insane around here. Almost every question is Brewer related, and he hasn't answered mine...
  19. Anyone know what the advanced stat stuff is saying for Luke Adams? April: .174 / .326 / .387 May: .271 / .485 / .457 June (3 games): .500 / .623 / 1.200 The crazy thing about his terrible April is that in his last 7 games of the month he went 9/24 with 2 doubles, and 4 HRs. He’s been very good for a while now.
  20. Should also mention that OF Gerlyn Payano (350k), OF Alexander Frias (350k), and 3B Sharlisson De La Rosa (200k) have yet to debut in the DSL and were listed as our 5th, 6th, and 9th biggest bonuses of the year.
  21. Spencer called that Bravo promotion in the new podcast. Rare to move up midseason from DSL. Add to that pile of ACL starters, along with Hayden Robinson apparently.
  22. They made a short one when the complex opened last year. Google maps makes our complex look like a powerhouse by comparison to everyone else’s.
  23. If the last two years are any indication, the first two picks are going to be a college bat taken a little early and a high schooler taken way early. Ethan Conrad and Andrew Fischer are my guess for the college bat. The high schooler is probably ranked in the 100's right now and we have no idea who he is.
  24. It’s not entirely a Baez thing. It’s the thought of these guys (Baez, Alastre, Tyler Rodriguez, DiTuri, etc) who flashed potential in the ACL and then struggled, getting back on track after repeating and being a little more age appropriate for their level. Not genuine prospects, but organizational soldiers who play where they can find a spot.
