  1. Probably nothing, but a potential high school positional class of Ebel, Hughes, and Cadiz all being from SoCal... Any connections there? Could be a cool 2B, SS, 3B dynamic to grow with.
  2. Yeah I’d be all on board with you if it was 3 years ago. Enough good will has been built up, and the results of the past two years have been pretty darn cool. I’ll take whatever this crazy thing is over the consensus. It feels like we are on to something here.
  3. Which is why we go after the lower ranked guys. NIL for baseball isn’t going to incoming unranked freshmen. It’s going to transfers that will be playing over them this year (possibly the next too) and to retain your good players from transferring. Maybe you never get an honest shot. That’s our sell.
  4. It says Brendan Brock is a JC3 guy. Does that mean he goes to Oklahoma as a senior?
  5. All these picks keep saying "4th round grade". The 4th round just happens to range from $550k to $700k.... That's our wheelhouse in 11-20. Infinite 4th round pick glitch.
  6. These 11-20 rounds are just us showing off how deep our system is. We don’t need roster filler and are just flaunting it.
  7. Pretty sure Pratt and Broughton have been the only high schoolers born the year before the draft that we've taken in the last 3 years. Everyone else has been 17 or just turned 18.
  8. We won’t sign them. It’s gonna be nobodies that sign for 400k-600k. Look at last years draft, something like that. We have so much depth built up that it doesn’t make sense to add even more late round college players. They’d take up innings and PAs from the kids already in A and A+ and the upside is minimal. This is where we build up our freshman team of no names who would have turned into top 5 round picks had they made it to college.
  9. Out of the four high schoolers taken so far, the oldest one turned 18 less than a month ago. EDIT - Also, we only seem to draft short pitchers (6 foot) or freakishly tall pitchers.
  10. They legit just let Ginger go to town in these drafts. She's not long for her position in this front office.
  11. I wonder if these small school transfer NIL deals for their junior years are “one and done” (money-wise)? Makes room for the next draft prospect.
  12. A scrappy outfielder from Boston College?!? Is my dream of fielding 9 Frelicks coming true?!
  13. I assume at this point she only shows up for day 2 and they give her 10 of the 17 picks.
  14. 2024 was a worst case scenario for fans that don’t buy in. We reached for a no name first rounder, paid nobody slot except for Meccage, and then didnt sign our biggest swing. We ended up with a pretty great draft anyway. Just gotta trust these guys.
  15. I think we are done with high schoolers until we start to get real weird with it. Strictly college savings until then. Dorchies and Tobias in the 9th and 10th last year has really thrown me for a loop. No idea what to expect there.
  16. They saw a pitcher that wasn’t available in the division (Pirates) and got a chance to get him for a pretty cheap price in hindsight. We all need to quit acting like the Brewers aren’t spending money when they’re actually just spending money wisely.
  17. Back in the 00’s, this site would be down for the entire draft because this was THE place for draft coverage. Not for Brewers, everyone. Was it Patrick that handled all that? Toby? I believe he actually got hired somewhere. I’m bad with names and it was 20 years ago.
  18. Also Miz and Morrison were a WWE tag team.
  19. Cairone was an obvious one. Ticks all our pitcher boxes.
  20. 75% would put them at about a mil in savings (equal to the 28th pick slot).
  21. I like it. Should be below slot, will probably be an OF.
  22. Is Kade Anderson going to play a single game in the minors? (I assume he’s going to the Angels) EDIT - Man Bremner has been falling in mocks
  23. I’m still leaning towards Kiley’s mock on ESPN. Too much wacky stuff there for it to be made up.
