  1. I think we should start stretching Ashby out by piggybacking him with Miz's pitch count restriction. Henderson taking his spot for long relief would be nice.
  2. Went through BA’s Top 500 for the 2022 draft. Of the top 15 college pitchers taken in 2025, only 6 were ranked in the top 500 as high schoolers. Bremner (123), Witherspoon (418), Forbes (278), Root (394), Shores (90) and Dzierwa (485). All the rest were unranked. That is our angle. Finding the guys that would normally go undrafted and turn into day one-ers. EDIT - Our high school arms this year came in at 96 (Cairone), 163 (Holden), 392 (Flores), 445 (Roupe), and two unranked in Vucinovich and Bentley.
  3. Free BA Article Neat little article showing just how much of an outlier the Brewers are. I honestly love the MLB draft. I don’t think I would enjoy it nearly as much if my team didn’t seem to be taking advantage of every single weird thing in a system riddled with weird things. I’m not even rooting for this to work out spectacularly as a Brewer fan anymore. I want it to succeed as a fan of teams doing cool stuff. It feels Moneyball adjacent.
  4. Bumping this up because the guys we seemingly had no shot at were the ones we signed. Honestly I just ignored their write ups because of it.
  5. Carolina’s pitching roster may be entirely made up of teenage starters next year.
  6. Well if that’s it, we added 6 more high school arms this year (after 6 in 2024 and 5 in 2023). What an insane zig during a pretty hard zag by the rest of the league.
  7. It’s basically the 5% overage plus a little more.
  8. Have $819,255 left after Roupe with only Cadiz and Lauridsen on the board.
  9. My sheet says we have enough for two at $650k each.
  10. For what it’s worth, BA has Holden at 163 on their top 500. Underwood was 349. CJ Hughes is 215, Lauridsen 455, Roupe 445, and Cadiz unranked.
  11. I believe Dubanewicz last year was on campus at Florida and still signed with us.
  12. Well we can theoretically give two guys $1mil+ and still have $500k for another.
  13. I doubt either scenario plays out, but it would give me a slight pause… O’Hearn eligible for a comp pick? Logan Henderson eligible for PPI pick? If both are a yes, a trade of Myers for O’Hearn wouldn’t be too bad?
  14. Ebel, Hughes, and Cadiz would be a fun little infield to grow with. Some positional flexibility around the entire infield as well.
  15. Pitcher picked off Pena and threw to second, second baseman caught it and went to third instead. Hit Payne in the back of the head on the throw to third.
  16. From the looks of things (and not counting Roupe as signed), we are looking at 4 more of the 11-20's at $650k average or 3 of them at a $800k average.
  17. Looks like Pirates couldn’t sign 2nd rounder Angel Cervantes who is going to UCLA as well. Hopefully he took all their NIL money.
  18. Ha! Gave him one. That one is a bummer though. Thought we’d get some savings there.
  19. Do we have a grudge against Jim Callis? He’s been announcing every signing on Twitter except for ours.
  20. Yeah I thought Cadiz was long gone, but this has me believing.
  21. A Burke and Arienamo promotion. Hot. Can probably add Dickinson and Ragsdale in that A+ pile too. I’m fine with all the kids staying in Carolina for the year (Handelfrey and Quintana can join them when the ACL ends).
  22. Not gonna lie, I’ve been fantasizing about the Dinges, Fischer, Adamczewski trio in Appleton later this year.
  23. The age difference in this Carolina game is insane. Would guess the average age is 23 vs 19.
  24. Saw we were linked to Xavier Edwards of the Marlins as well. Great splits vs RHP, no power, gets on base, steals bases. if anyone would value that, it’s us. If we can move Turang to SS vs RHP, I think it makes sense.
