  1. Right on cue: https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/brewers-prospect-tyson-hardin-turns-in-efficient-first-full-season/ BA with an article about Hardin today after having Holobetz and DeBerry earlier in the week.
  2. Let me be dramatic. All the articles that have come out lately on those college guys have been very cool though, even Holobetz (RIP). Gives an insight into what we are looking for and building off of. I can’t remember being this excited about our system since the Weeks / Fielder / Braun days. Less talented at the top now, but the confidence in the competence has never been higher.
  3. My favorite thing about the universal Deberry, Holobetz, and Hardin love from the 2024 draft class is that it implies we know what we are looking for and are on to something big (while ignoring the 6 high school pitchers signed from the same class).
  4. With it being a new stadium and all…. Any word if it will have statcast data?
  5. Yeah I'm 100% down with either a draft pick or Woody and Freddy last ride for a combined $30mil.
  6. Looks like next week Wednesday (11/12) is when BA releases their updated Brewers top 10, along with a chat in the afternoon where you can ask questions.
  7. Along with the depth of everything, I’m very excited for what it all means down the line as all these teenage pitchers start bunching up. Wouldn’t be surprised if we had 6 man rotations (to go with 6 day game weeks) along with piggy backing starters in the very near future. Allow for more inning management and time to work on stuff between starts. A perfect set up for bringing guys back from injury or even drafting potential steals like Broughton and Episcope. Would also be nice to start adding dedicated fast moving college bullpen types in the draft to add to these hard to crack A-ball rosters made entirely out of starters.
  8. Impossible to argue. What he did this year at 18 years of age is insane. This offseason is a huge one in the grand scheme of Brewers baseball. The wagon has been hitched to these high spin kids and if we can get the stuff brought up to the same level as their production…. sheesh.
  9. This article is why I’m so pumped for all these high school arms coming up. We are looking at the things in a pitcher that gets this kind of write up as a $25k senior sign in those 17 year olds that we’ve been signing by the bucketful. My “Pepe Silvia” post above from BA’s Stuff+ article pretty much says the same thing. All our spin metrics are off the charts, and underage. If we get velocity bumps out of these guys, we are sitting on a goldmine.
  10. Mom, can we get a Kevin Mcgonigal? No, we have a Kevin Mcgonigal at home.
  11. And is now 3-3 with a walk after a 108mph single with the bases loaded. Triple short of the cycle.
  12. Luke Adams is just the best, 0-0 with 2 RBIs and a walk (was a 2 RBI sac fly, Adamczewski didn’t stop when reaching 3rd and scored just under the tag). Adamczewski smashes a HR to dead center in his next AB (106mph), followed by another walk for Adams (0-0 still).
  13. That would explain why we avoid 19 year old high schoolers like the plague.
  14. Looking ahead to future 40-man crunches… 2022 draft seems to only have Luke Adams as a big name left. 2023 has an absolute ton of names (Wilken, Boeve, Woodward, Birchard, Pratt, Bitonti, Letson, Adamczewski, etc) When would these guys need to be added? Is there a different timeline for college vs high school vs international?
  15. Anything we do has to have the potential lockout in 2027 in mind. 1. Not a single prospect that isn’t already on the 40-man will be added. We aren’t gonna call up Made or even Pratt / Wilken / Adams if it means they have to sit for a whole year during a lockout. No call ups. None. The minors will still play in 2027 even if the majors don’t. 2. Not fully sure how it works, but we may lose Freddy and Contreras for nothing if we don’t trade them this offseason. Freddy is a FA going into 2027, and Conteras could burn his last year before FA sitting for a year and leaving after 2027. Now might be the time to strike for full value on both.
  16. https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/2025-mlb-farm-system-statcast-pitching-rankings/ BA has a pay article about pitching statcast data, and our group basically grades out at the bottom of their “Stuff+” metrics. However… While we are very low on their grades, there are certain things that we are very much outliers on while being poorly rated. Fastballs? Pretty much bottom tier in everything, but then top 10 in vertical attack angle. Sliders? Ranked at the bottom, but #2 in spin. Vertical break? 27th. Horizontal break? 3rd. Curves? Terrible again, but #1 in spin and again at the top for horizontal break along with vertical attack angle. Are we just being weirdos? Maybe we get downgraded for having so many 18 year olds that haven’t quite gotten the velocity bump yet? It seems like we are doing stuff that BA doesn’t seem to agree with on their metrics while also kind of being great at stuff that they undervalue (slow velocity, spin, attack angle, horizontal break). Id love to hear what some of our more metric-centric guys around here take from the data.
  17. Carolina is going to be a tough rotation to crack into, and potentially Appleton down the road as well. Maybe that allows us to go after some bigtime bullpen only college arms. Use the money saved there to turn the perpetual motion machine of high school starters. I do worry about how dependent we seem to be on the DSL to supply a full roster to Carolina (bar the few high school position picks). Can’t be banking on a new Chourio every year.
  18. They play today at 3:30 our time. You can watch it on HERE The lineup for today looks to have Adamczewski, Dinges, and Adams all hitting in the top 4 of the lineup with O’Rae batting 9th to set the table for them.
  19. That picture of Adams dumping the cooler on O’Rea with Adamczewski in the background (all wearing Brewers jerseys) goes hard. Two home runs and 8 RBIs in the last 3 innings for those guys.
  20. The board is very slow right now, ARob, but please keep updating what’s going on in Arizona as you can. Whatever your source is is about all we got in these lean months.
  21. MLB.com updated their top 100 and maaaaybe their top 30’s? I swear ours looks a little different. Blake Burke being our #29 is insane.
  22. The current labor agreement expires in December of 2026. I think we go into this next year preparing for a 2027 lockout. My Brewers conspiracy theory is that I think our draft strategy and minor league roster composition over the past couple years has a season of missed MLB time in 2027 entirely in mind. With the goal towards having as few young guys on MLB salaries as possible while being right at the doorstep. I don't think a lot of guys are going to be called up in 2026, and I don't think anyone is going to take on contracts in the offseason leading up to a possible lockout is what I'm getting at.
  23. I’m just sitting here biding my time until these 100 teenage arms have velo upticks and the publications all wonder where this pitching came from. Still doesn’t seem like anyone outside of this message board sees the potential that is hidden off our top 30 lists. Fun fact: Over the last 3 drafts, we have 15% of all high school pitchers that have signed. Only 5 teams have signed more than 5 total over that time frame, we have 17.
  24. Weird one. Thought we’d give him another year in A ball. Harry Holgeen was a fun name to hear.
  25. Looks like Adams, Dinges, and Adamczewski are the prospects in the AFL. Pitchers are much less impressive. Hopefully that means everyone is in the lab for the offseason.
