    Agree with Kuechel Agree with Nelson Agree on Brown Agree on Barnes and Petricka go Disagree on Burnes, I’d give him more time in rotation. Peralta to pen Albers can stay for now I’d trade for Watson or givens or greene

    Give me a break. You are calling on the Brewers to dump one of their top prospects simply because you don't like him, despite the fact that he was their Player of the Year last year. Because he hasn't hit well less than a week into his first run through AAA. And YOU have the nerve to say someone isn't seeing the forest through the trees? What I said was should have traded him during offseason. Every day that goes buy it’s only gonna get harder and harder to get anything for him. Ok, be brutally honest people, do you really think he’s gonna hit? Why is the Keon Broxton comparison off? Other that Keon a much much better defender.

    Thank you for that video Joey! Glad to see jimmy pitching again to live batters. Stuff has been ridiculously good all spring, no wonder his forearm/elbow was sore after snapping off those breaking balls.

    Golden Boy Hiura is matching Ray K for K so far, yet he still walks on water. How about we tap the brakes on the "this prospect sucks and will never amount to anything" talk until we get a few weeks of games in. Ray showed last year why he was a high draft pick, and while I agree that his hit tool needs work, he's got a ton of other tools that teams find attractive. Judging a prospect on his first week of games at the highest level in the minors is the ultimate "small sample size" overreaction. Ok, we just disagree on Ray, and yes 20 ABs is too small a sample even with a 65 % k rate.

    Sign the guy already, get creative, do what we have to do. It’s not a panic move to sign an experienced lefty that will anchor our staff the rest of this year to a 1 year deal. Step up Mark.

    I can tell you one first round pick that’s NOT gonna make an impact in Milwaukee. Corey Ray. Was hoping stearns would of sold high on him this offseason, every game he plays from this point on, trade value goes down. It’s early but he’s on pace to set k records. Another Keon Broxton. Now of course this is only my opinion, but the scouts I’ve read hate his hit tool. Sell before it’s too late mr stearns, we can do better.

    What is troublesome is that the 2019 pen wouldn't be a major concern if Woodruff or Burnes were still there and Anderson was in the rotation. So far, this would have probably been the better play. Yet, long term? I don't know. The crew knows the better play is to have all 3 young guns in the rotation and I love it, and so does John Smoltz, who during the broadcast of sat game, said the brewers are doing the right thing, and hopes they can overcome the temptation to move them to the pen. He said their patience will be rewarded. He loves all three of our young guns.

    Jeffress wasn't overused. But I agree there is reason for concern. I've been keeping it in, but a lot of reason to believe 8-2 is a bit of a mirage. Run differential hasn't been very flattering. It wasn't last year either, but the pen made that passable. I'm not sure we can expect that again. Jeffress pitched 84 innings last year, 18 more than any previous year. So I would argue he was overused, weakness in shoulder not withstanding.

    If the reports are true, And Kuechel will sign for 1 year 18 then why wouldn’t you do it if your the brewers? Since there are no bad one yr deals in baseball. Kuechel would help not just the rotation but the pen as well, proverbial two birds with one stone to the hilt. Get creative: 1 yr 12 mil with mutual 25 and buyout of 6. Arnold said no outside help, so not gonna hold my breath. But this 12 mil or whatever make us the heavy favorites. Save our prospect capitol.

    I do trust in Stearns to figure it out. And I know our pen will get stronger as the months move forward, just like last year. But geez, saw givens blow away yankee hitters and that guy has NASTY stuff. Orioles tanking.....

    Poop happens. Best laid plans..... Maybe jeffress dominates when he comes back. But if he not the high leverage pen arm we need, then make the trade, overpay, get him here. Can’t wait 3 mo.

    Context is everything. I'll just say that about your rants. Both of those that you quoted at me was to a guy that would give up just about anything for a Giants reliever right now. It does make NO SENSE. But hmm... doesn't sound like we'd be giving up multiple players for Kimbrel. Might be why Stearns is actually intrigued by the idea? Maybe use a better example next time you want to stand on your podium and attack because you're upset at our bullpen. Maybe the better option is to let it continue to play out, let guys establish roles, get JJ back, see if any of your AAA guys can fill holes, fill with guys off the scrap heap like we've done before, and then when those options are exhausted, then you go out and see what the trade market is for guys that are on clubs willing to part ways. By that time, you're more than likely to find teams willing to part ways with players on better terms than what would occur now. Trading, which this thread is about, doesn't happen very often in April and for good reasons. Next time you want to overreact, aim it at someone else please and thank you. This team needs EXPERIENCED HIGH LEVERAGE pen arms, and we’re not getting that off the scrap heap or AAA. Now maybe JJ can be one again, we’ll find out in the next month. Not gonna count on jj being the dominant first 65 innings of last years jj. Trade with tanking team like the orioles for givens exactly what this team needs in my opinion. The goal shouldnt be to win EVERY trade, it should be to win the title. Ask Theo.

    Great take. That is how I see things moving forward. Crew wanted to use houser as depth for rotation, but we need another quality multi- inning pen arm, and houser fits the bill. So does Brown, but I think they let him get some AAA seasoning and wait til past S2. Having the 2 plus Guerra would as you say, help with the inexperience of our young trio and take the pressure off our pen with some possible shorter outings. Also not gonna discount Wilkerson from the conversation with his great start yesterday.

    FWIW Jim Bowden just said kimbrel sitting out the year unless he gets multi year deal he wants Kuechel will sign a 1 yr QO type deal.
