  1. Love this conversation! Glad it shows up in every thread now! ?‍♂️
  2. For reference, here are the active (plus Urias) roster's splits during the Yelich "bad years": 2020-22 vs. RHP: 2020-22 vs. LHP: There's definitely something left to be desired on the offensive end, but with the current team makeup, Yelich still should be hitting in the top 3 spots of the lineup (esp with his OBP) and the hitting versus lefthanded pitching should look better as the season goes on. It'd be nice to have some other "superstar" options on offense, but we came into the offseason with little room left on the payroll, not a lot of depth in the minors to trade from, and knowing the talent on the major league team was heavily in favor of the pitching. It kind of is what it is. As-is, this is a team that's projected as arguably the favorite in the division and has a pretty darn good chance to get into the playoffs for the 5th straight year. In order for them to take the next step you just have to hope a few hitters step up to help make this offense a little better than expected. A lot of guys, both pitching and hitting, are off to slow starts, but 10 games is a very small sample size and I fully expect things to improve as we continue through the season and hopefully DS can make a couple of nice moves along the way that shore up any lingering shortcomings. This is a good time to be a Brewer fan and I'm legitimately soaking it all in!
  3. Yelich's Preseason Projections on FanGraphs:
  4. I would guess this has something to do with it: https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/milwaukee-brewers/payroll/
  5. Good observation. I might still take a flyer on him and see if he can bounce back with limited playing time for half a season, but only if he's basically free. 2020-21 vs. LHP:
  6. Interesting he said they're talking to catchers (as opposed to talking to teams about possible trades). Not sure if that necessarily means outside of the organization or not. Unsigned FA catchers: https://www.fangraphs.com/roster-resource/free-agent-tracker?sign=unsigned&pos=c Wilson Ramos would be an intriguing pickup at this point (the other two, not so much). 2019-21 vs. LHP: 2019-21 Defense:
  7. There's an ignore button in the popup that appears if you hover their profile image
  8. I understand the values are far from accurate, but if the baseball trade values site is even in the right universe on player values, it would take an incredible haul to pry both those players from the A's:
  9. Just for reference, 2019-21 vs. LHP: Defense 2019-21:
  10. I just want them to acquire him, eventually trade him to the Mariners, and then eventually have him be the first player effected by the new "Jacob Nottingham" rule
  11. Literally...

  13. Dark mode must be the new white and gold vs. blue and black dress thing. I don't get the appeal and a quick google search seems to indicate it isn't good for your eyes either. I think the site looks great as is (although I will agree that it could be a "little" more condensed). That said, glad there are solutions for those who like it!
  14. I agree, it's been a rather smooth transition and there's a lot of nice new features that I'm really enjoying (being mobile friendly and taking advantage of the following/stream features are game changers, the in-post improvements when it comes to posting Twitter posts and tables and being able to "like" posts are super nice as well). Shout out to @Brock Beauchamp and team for all you're doing! Love that you're listening to the community as you fine tune the site. For those that haven't run across it yet, Brock has set up a thread to post suggestions as well: But I like the idea of keeping this thread as a place to show appreciation as well. Great work all! ??
  15. Hard to argue that MA is significantly cheaper than the Twins owner when they basically have the same payroll and have been fairly comparable the past few seasons (https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/payroll/): 2022: Brewers $109M vs. Twins $107M (incl. Correa signing) 2021: $99M vs. $120M 2020: $41M vs. $55M 2019: $135M vs. $125M 4-Year Average: $96M vs. $102M
  16. Good to see Yeli with a hit and an RBI. Also Renfroe looks built, just missed a homer.
  17. We've got some mystery team action going on today
  18. Yeah looks like the baseball trade simulator side puts both Lange and Kelly at 1.7 surplus value, so he seems to be a good comp. I would have been good with that swap.
  19. Wonder what the equivalent would have been in the Brewers' system.
  20. Will be interesting to hear the return for him. I was really hoping we'd be able to pick him up.
  21. Logically I would say they should have been in the "All set at shortstop, thanks" category, but it's not like they're not known for both 1.) taking 1 year flyers on guys that slip by the initial offseason market, and 2.) acquiring players for positions that seem to be already set. So who knows?!
  22. I don't know, I think the Olson trade and contract extension looks pretty good. You're basically getting Olson for $21M per year for his age 28 to 35 seasons vs. Freeman getting $27M per year for his age 32 to 37 seasons (not to mention it sounded like Freeman MAY have given LA a "discount", although ATL may have been the only other place he would have done the same for). Projections are showing Olson as a 4.4/4.8 WAR, 137/144 wRC+ (Steamer/ZiPS) guy next year vs. Freeman as a 4.6/4.0 WAR, 141/135 wRC+ guy next year, so they're pretty comparable while Olson's just getting into his prime years and Freeman is exiting them. ATL had to give up some nice prospects going this route, but I think the $6M per year savings (if it allows them to add an extra WAR to the roster elsewhere) and the fact you're getting Olson for his age 28-31 seasons instead of Freeman for his age 36-37 seasons probably make it a pretty solid decision.
  23. Those games should remain as scheduled, correct?
