  1. Do guys like Di Turi and Bitonti go to Carolina when we get players in from the draft or will the be ready in the next couple weeks if strong play continues. It is nice to see Clarke and Zamora move up, hopefully there are is a little more upward movement in the next couple days to fill those guys shoes in AA.
  2. Hopefully this is really 2-4 weeks and not a Yeli/Junis situation and they are out 3 times longer than hoped for.
  3. It still bugs me that Mike Fiers got a bad rap for that. The only man in an entire organization with the morals to say this is wrong. I still remember Big Papi calling out Fiers on fox and backing Altuve, pisses me off whenever I see Ortiz.
  4. I am fine with them keeping him up. They probably just need to sit him against the better righties a bit more. His swings have looked fine but he does seem to be swinging to hard. He just needs to think up the middle and try and send outside pitches to right. We could easily send him to AAA for Roller or Hicklen. I don't think the confidence issue is sending him down, I think it would be sending him down and the struggles continue. Perkins has been pretty bad the past couple weeks ba down to .218, he is looking more like a 4th OF. I still believe in Sal (tonight makes that easy) but a guy like him really needs to be way more consistent.
  5. Bauers-Arnold, Bauers was in the Rays system when Arnold was in Tampa
  6. We need to get younger. Here is an extreme scenerio. 1) Trade Lillard and Beauchamp to Pelicans we get DeAndre Hunter, Dejontey Murray, Dyson Daniel's, Hawks get Brandon Ingram, Jordan Hawkins, #21 from Pels and #23 from us. 2)Trade Middleton and Daniels (above trade) to Lakers we get DeAndre Ayton, #56 from lakers Blazers get Austin Reaves, Rui Hachimura, Jalen Hood Schaufino 3) Lopez to Sun's, Connaugton to Wizards, we get Jordan Poole, Johnny Davis, David Roddy. #59 from sun's, wizards get Nurkic, Connaugton, and Nasir Little. Draft, PJ Hall#33, 56 Daron Holmes #59 Draft and stash Mid level=DeAnthony Melton 1) Murray 2)Poole 3)Hunter 4)Giannis 5) Ayton Bench Bobby, Melton, AJax, Green, Roddy, Hall, Davis I don't know where the money comes out but it would be nice to get another wing but lots of young upside to play faster along Giannis. I get those are mostly crazy but interesting.
  7. How good is it to have Yeli back. And then a Willy double play. Hopefully Bryse comes out better than the first 3 innings, might be a short leash.
  8. Would the Pirates be interested in trading Bryan Reynolds? He makes 15 million a year and it could be a good opportunity to get a good bat at a discount. Obviously his defense doesn't rate great (maybe 1st base). We could give them Ashby back to negate some salary (no actual trade value). Reynolds for Weimer, Ashby, Blalock, and one of our younger 15-25 ranked IF prospects. The Pirates would shed salary and have 4 young talents to show for it. We would get a solid middle of the order bat that would get a big upgrade in ballparks. I would then trade Perkins to KC for the best prospect we could get maybe OF Gavin Cross. Last trade Hoby Milner to Texas for Emiliano Teodo Lastly trade for Justin Verlander if they eat most of the contracts maybe CarRod and 2nd prospect (more/less depending on how much $) 1)Turang 2)Contreras 3)Yeli 4)Willy 5) B Reynolds 6)Rhys 7)Frelick/Mitchell 8)Ortiz 9)Chourio Peralta, Verlander, Rea, Gasser, Wilson/Ross Devin, Payamps, Hudson, Megill, Peguero, Koenig, Wilson/Ross, Uribe/Misi Not to bad Obviously those trades probably aren't the most logical. I do like a trade deadline where we trade away some shorter term/blocked pieces. While adding some big talent that can compete this season.
  9. White was a decent prospect for the Dodgers, hasn't worked out anywhere now 29 and likely running out of chances. He would be a good guy to go overseas and come back better. He throws 94 with a 5 pitch mix. My guess is that he really needs to edit his repiotore. There is probably a Bryce Wilson type Longman in there somewhere but I doubt we keep him long enough to see what our staff can make him into.
  10. I am sure we would have to pay peak value for a guy like Robert, so probably something similar to what we gave up for Yeli. 1 high end prospect, 2 borderline top 100 pieces, and a mid-level 3rd piece. That would be like Black/Mis, Frelick/Mitchell/Weimer, Gasser/CarRod/Lara, and like Blalock. So like Black, Frelick, Gasser, and Blalock would be to much but Black, Weimer, CarRod, and Blalock I would consider I like Robert a lot but his injury problems and lower obp/higher k rates make a trade a ginormous risk. If we are giving up that end of capital I guess I would rather go after Isaac Paredas, Christian Javier, Jesus Luzardo, or other top end talent that might end up available come July
  11. Would you be able to add Tayden Hall, Manny Rodriguez, and Yujanyer Herrera.
  12. What type of value would Hoby Milner have? We have Hudson and Koenig pitching well and then Hall and Ashby looking like they will be relief pitchers. Add in Darrell Thompson and Rob Zastryzny looking good in AAA there is lots of depth. Hoby is clearly important to us and valuable but only controllable through next year. With his massive year last year and exceptional start we could get quite a bit. His value is probably around than than Aroldis Chapman (Ragans and lotto ticket) and Paul Sewald (Canzone, Bliss, and Rojas) trades from last year.
  13. In all likihood we would probably get a young higher upside guy (who represents the comp pick) and a medium valued prospect as trade value. I doubt anyone is giving up quality young players who are mlb ready at this point, especially with injuries around the league be what it is. Ideas that meet other teams values Tigers for Kevin McGonigle and Alex Faedo Dodgers for Kendall George/Joendry Vargas/Payton Martin and Gus Varland/Gavin Lux Red Sox Blaze Jordan and Richard Fitts Not great, for that I say keeo him and get the comp. pick.
  14. On one hand I am so ready to move on and try someone else, on the other I agree Dunn needs to go to AAA 1st and until Black starts playing well he can stay. I would say the thing that irratates me most is that Pat runs him in the 3 or 4 hole every time he starts, if he was hitting 7/8 I can live with a defensive upgrade style starter but a run producer he is not. Really over the past 2 years my biggest problem with our coaching is putting our lowest average players 3/4/5 in the lineup consistently.
  15. Really when the 5 games are up its really like just moving Peralta's start back 1 day. What is up with our rehab (or maybe diagnosing injuries) this year. Yeli was day to day and has been out like 5ish weeks. Junis was maybe 1 or 2 starts and is now going to miss like 1/3 of the season. With all these injuries (and length) do we seriously need to look at how our training/medical staff deals with the players.
  16. Bad baseball tonight, I can't really blame Murphy much. By no means was he great but he doesn't hit it or field it. We need Yeli back bad, day to day has been what a month and a half.
  17. We need Yeli back so badly. Good to see the minor league system getting a bit healthier with EBJ and Wilken back. Any news on Junis it seems like he should have been back by now (based on original injury report) but as far as I can tell still not close to rehab. No timeliness on Hall still?
  18. For Adames we couldn't get anything close to Miller, we would be lucky to get Sheehan straight up and he is injured. No rush sending Willy, just need to play Ortiz everyday at 3B for now.
  19. I am sick of Dunn's pitch selection. How many times have we seen him take strike 3 down the middle and swing at a bad ball for strike 3, or vice versa swing at a bad pitch strike 2 and take strike 3 in the zone.
  20. I love Cabrera and his upside, I think our pitching team could unlock him and worse case he becomes an elite bullpen arm. That being said my offer would be based on younger prospects maybe like Lara. I am counting on Gasser this year and I don't think we could count on Cabrera. He might be more off a long man/piggyback this year and if we get an offseason to work on command then start.
  21. What a beast, how many more weeks like this until he forces his way to AAA 4ish 100 more ab's? I know he doesn't have 100 ab's yet this year and has already moved but wow-ee.
  22. Other names to keep an eye on not mentioned in the last couple weeks. Angels=Tyler Anderson, Reid Detmers Rays=Zack Eflin, Drew Rasmussen (if he returns from injury), Aaron Civale Rockies= Cal Quantrill Dbacks= Jordan Montgomery, Merrill Kelly Giants=Blake Snell Jays= Yusei Kukuchi, other starters less likely A's= Paul Blackburn, Ross Stripling Rangers= #6/#7/#8 pitchers ( if everyone gets healthy they have like 8 starters) One of the Royals or Tigers will probably hit a rough spot and have a pitcher available as well.
  23. With the Marlins already off loading is there anyone that would interest us there? My guess is Luzardo would need a bunch of good starts to gain value back. Trevor Rogers is probably the only other decent candidate since Edward Cabrera has been good (6.05 era 19inng 10bb/30k). Max Meyer maybe off limit.
  24. How/where do you guys watch minor league games, is it free/how much?
  25. I agree that is a bizarre Padres Arraez trade. None of the 4 prospects are guaranteed to do anything but the 3 bats all have pretty high upside. For a DH with limited power speed and doesn't take walks it could go really bad. However Arraez is about the most likely guy to hit .300 every year since Tony Gwynn (probably).
