  1. Again I don't like the mlb trade simulator but Bryant had like a -120 value and Yeli was like -40. I just added the 50 million so there weren't like 4 prospect to make the deal close on the website.
  2. I don't mind the idea of Kris Bryant however I doubt the money would work. To do a Bryant trade I feel like we would need to send out Yeli, get something else valuable back, and the Rockies would need to eat some of Bryant's deal. I am not a huge fan of the trade simulator but a deal would have to be like Yeli for Bryant and Amador their top prospect and the Rockies eat about 50 million (I would probably do that as a Brewer fan) I doubt the Rockies would do that, it makes the most sense to keep Bryant and hopefully he stays healthy and can recoup some of his value.
  3. Was really hoping the Jets would go like 7-10 and the pack would have a borderline top 10 pick.
  4. That seems like too many 40 man spots in my opinion. Noah Campbell and Devanney are nice player but guys like him are a dime a dozen when you get to the offseason, We can pick up similar players like Eddy Alvarez for free on minor league deals. Devanney has been really good as of late and if it doesn't mean cutting anyone else I would probably keep him. I can't see anyone taking Blalock or at least keeping him on a big league roster since he isn't going to pitch in AA this year and hasn't been great in Appleton. McKendry seems like a Jason Alexander/Colin Rea option going foward, probably worth protecting. Lock: Quero Maybe/Probably: McKendry, Devanney
  5. Santana would be a passible option, if the better bats that we could sign/trade for get to expensive I would be ok with him coming back for a similar salary to this year. By no means is he perfect but you know he will have over a .300 obp, around 20 hr's, play solid defense, and be a quality clubhouse influence. Ideally we get a guy like that who will hit at a higher average and is younger but having Santana back would be alright.
  6. Hoskins is probably on the top tier of free agents we can afford. Unless we find an interesting trade I would be ok with him, my guess is that he would get something like Michael Conforto 2/32 with an opt out after 1. I don't mind the stay the course route for 1 more year, however we really need to get 1 solid bat. This current team has so much potential if we could just be more consistent on offense. Canha would be definitely a solid player to retain especially if 1st is going to be open. With your situation I would try and add a 3B and use Black as an everyday utility/DH.
  7. Don't forget Brown was hitting like .150 through the 1st month and missed some time as well. He might be a good AFL candidate as well.
  8. I doubt we even tender Rowdy an offer. He is basically a DH only with contact issues, he isnt worth over 5 million.
  9. It's looking like he might be our best relief prospect since Uribe lost prospect standards. Does anyone have a decent scouting report.
  10. Agreed, but to get Trout we probably need to unload Yeli. I suppose a 3 team trade wouldn't need him in however.
  11. My offer would be something like Yelich, Weimer, Peguaro, and Gasser ( I'd also want the Angels to pay about 50 million of his salary. Maybe 3 team deal where we can find value like the Contreras deal. We get Kyle Schwarber and a good prospect, the Phillies get Trout and the Angels get Yeli, Adamas, and a bunch of prospects from Phily
  12. I am fully ready to revamp the offense this offseason. This team seems close but also far away from the top couple teams. Here is my newest ideas. 1) Trade Burnes to Balt. for Westburg/Mayo, McDermott, lotto prospect The Os have plenty of MI talent and need an ace, perfect match. 2) Devin Williams to LAD for Emmett Sheehan and Miguel Vargas Even though the Dodgers have a few high quality late inning arms there team ERA in the pen isn't great Devin fixes that. 3) Adames to SF for Reggie Crawford/Mason Black/Hayden Birdsong and a lotto prospect We get good pitching prospect and the Giants get a big upgrade at SS 4) Yeli to NYY for DJ Lemehieu and Clark Schmidt. The Yankees offense socks they get a leadoff and lineup upgrade. We get a potentially solid vet and solid high upside arm while getting rid of the longterm Yeli deal. 5) Sign JD Martinez 2/30 and Liam Hendricks 1/10 with incentives, Miley resign 1/10 Lemahieu, Vargas, Westburg/Mayo man 1B/2B/3B in some fashion with Turang at SS. Weimer, Mitchell, Frelick, Chourio in the OF and a nice upside rotation of Woody, Peralta, Miley, and 3 of Schmidt, Sheehan, Ashby, and Gasser. Hendricks, Payamps, Uribe, Peguero, Megill, Milner, Wilson make a super strong pen. Obviously there would be a lot of risk on offense but we would still have Tyler Black in case one of the young guys doesn't work out well.
  13. Rowdy should probably be getting 4ish starts a week, like 3 at DH and 1 at 1st.
  14. Our #8 or so starter to begin the year beats the ace of a World Series team. Yeah great win, combine with Cubs lose and an ok badger win. Pretty nice Saturday.
  15. Not to shabby, somehow he has 15 hits in 106 abs with 10 HR's and 1 double. That's a .142 ba with only -.1 WAR and a sub .100 babip or something crazy like that. I also like the Greg Allen pickup, maybe we can finally send Weimer to AAA and get his extra arby year.
  16. I find it weird that all this happen on the same day between a bunch of teams and relatively speaking the same time of day. Maybe it was just reported at the same time?
  17. This is crazy, I would obviously be fine with Giolito, Bader, Lopez and Moore, I could see us swapping a bench guys for one of the others depending on money.
  18. I don't remember where I read the article, it could have been on this site. Devin Williams is on pace to set a record for a stat that measures highest leverage situations. I don't remember what the stat was called but it was a goof read. Sorry for the lack of details.
  19. We do get extra control but I really doubt we tender him a 5 million dollar contract this offseason. Maybe a smaller incentive deal after we decline.
  20. What if trading away guys we went the other way and just keep the main guys and pushed the chips into the middle. By my crude best guesses we will have about 90 million in salary if we non-tender Rowdy, Lauer, Houser (could tender and trade), Huira, and other dead weight. We would have a solid rotation of Burnes, Woody, Pelata, Ashby, Gasser and the same strong bullpen. The lineup would have openings at 1B and 3B if you pencil in Yeli at DH with Frelick, Mitchell, Weimer in the OF. My guess is that would be about $40 million to spend on 2 positions. Another idea I had was trading Burnes in a 3 team deal where we get Tyler Glasnow. Glasnow has 1 year 25 million dollar deal next year but carries some major injury concern. We could do a deal where we get Glasnow and a solid prospect for Burnes, Glasnow has a similar ceiling but we get a prospect to incur the risk of injury. In theory it splits the difference of sell of Burnes for prospects or keep him and potentially lose him for nothing. Here is a rough idea. Burnes to LAD Sheehan/Stone/Pepiot and lower prospect to Tampa We get Glasnow and Hurt/Bruns/prospect 6-15 in system In theory, we could get 1 year of similar to Burnes production, a solid prospect, and still get a draft pick for Glasnow (or extend him cheaper and shorter then Burnes). The Rays save money get a high end mlb ready arm and the Dodgers don't give up the moon for a young ace they could extend long term.
  21. How has Lauer been pitching? I keep forgetting he is an option and haven't heard much on him lately.
  22. He has had a rollercoaster of a year, really bad start was on fire in the middle of the year and then injuries. If he can be more of that middle of the year player he will be a quality mlb player. Maybe Marcus Semien before 2019, or just without the 30+ HR potential is a decent comp.. I am thinking he will be an ideal candidate for the Arizona Fall League and we might get a little better insight from that if he can stay healthy.
  23. I could see him making a big jump and being a late inning option next year. It really would be crazy if he kept it up and Misi comes up at the end of the year. Having Megill, Misi, and Uribe as 3 huge arms in the 5-7 inning areas would be nuts (and probably nerve racking with command concerns).
  24. If we get prospects I really would go for quality over quantity. Our system is so deep right now that getting a lot of younger high ceilings guys sounds nice but doesn't do a ton for the system. I keep thinking of 3 teams deals were we give up Burnes/Woody (possibly w/more) for a young top end IF (Witt, O's young IF w/more, Kim, Duran (Rangers) others). Burnes to the O's for Jordan Westburg and a mid-level prospect pitcher might be a high quality win-win 2 team deal. Westburg has been great at 2B (ok at 3rd) and would make a great MI with Turang giving them a most needed frontline starter and they have money to extend him and even sign someone else. Adames could go or move to 3rd (or Westburg to 3rd) or be traded for a decent pitcher, say to the Dodgers for Kyle Hurt. That would give us plenty of money to find a short term 1B/DH bat (Hoskins, JD Martinez, etc.) or pitcher starter or reliever if Williams traded.
  25. I would love Alonso, however for 1 year I wouldn't give up a top 100 prospect. Weimer/Mitchell straight up seems like an overpay that Mets fans would hate. My guess would be that with all that money the Mets are going to want mlb players. Burnes for Alonso and a prospect say Blade Tidwell would have some juice to me. What would Alonso's contract demands be? Similar to Matt Olsen 8/162, or a shorter higher Ave. 4/100.
