  1. Thank you for posting without a rhyme. Most of us would say, it's about time. ?
  2. If you are a Nationalist, or publicly proud to be an American these days, it always leads to being called a Trumper, racist, or some other "ist" in today's over the top political climate. I believe there are still people out there who are proud to be living in our country, but I also believe there are a lot of people out there who don't want the hassle that follows when they admit it.
  3. Except his HR numbers. Man, it would be hard as a fan to bail on your 1B that hit 35 homers, and add a guy who hit only 15. Yes, I realize that as a hitter, he is superior to Rowdy, but chicks dig the long ball!
  4. Plug Jansen into any trade generator you want, what you are proposing we trade for him, with only two years of control is crazy whacked out insanity. If that is what it takes, I'm not even making a phone call.
  5. uggggh, god I hope that a catcher like Jansen wouldn't require a haul like that. If so, I'm out!
  6. Disagree 100%. Sterns said they are not going rebuild mode. (full steam ahead with rookies and prospects would be re-build mode) Trading Burns doesn't mean they are dead in the free agent market, I think just the opposite. They are going to have to do something to help soften the loss of Burnes, adding a free agent pitcher (Clevinger - but I highly doubt they get him that cheap) and a bat (Abreu) is exactly the kind of moves I would expect them to make if they Trade Burnes.
  7. Not a chance in hell you get Woodruff for 6 years 90 million, not a single possible chance of that happening. 15 million per season? Try 25 million, and that may still not get it done.
  8. New game in Toronto! What a difference between this game and the Indians/Rays game earlier.
  9. 100% agree.
  10. Wonder if the name change alienated a bunch of fans? I know a guy from Cleveland and he told me that he personally knows a lot of fans who refuse to go to games strictly due to the name change. I'm sure that will soften over time, but I wouldn't doubt that there are a ton of people put off by that, especially the long time die hards... If those fans stay away (which I doubt they will forever) that could be a small part of their attendance issue.
  11. Looks like Pujols isn't getting meatballs right down the pipe any longer now that the playoffs have started. HA!
  12. His contract is a HUGE problem for this team when he doesn't produce the numbers needed to justify that contract. His contract just makes all the other problems run into each other. We can't sign Burnes and Woodruff long term because of it. We can't sign any BIG BAT free agents because of it. We can't do much of anything that will make a big impact on the team in general because of it. So yeah, his contract leads to the biggest problems this team has.
  13. He could just slide right into the closer role, letting Williams go back to his comfy 8th inning spot.
  14. I think that if Williams starts out the 2023 season as the closer, his frame of mind will be different. Tossing him into that role after trading hader didn't seem to work out too well, but if he enters the season with that role, hopefully he will be prepared.
  15. Players you build around are core, producing players that have a bright future. Yelich is none of those things. He is just a guy, a guy that is going to suck all the life out of this team financially for the next 6 seasons. He is 100% NOT the type of player you build around, but rather the type of player you hope and pray we can unload, some how, some way. (I know, not going to happen)
  16. Same here, I just don't get it.
  17. That ship has sailed. All we can do with Yelich is damage control at this point.
  18. If we are out of it Wednesday, what are the odds that Burnes starts that last game?
  19. Oh wow, I just.............................can't.................................nope. Enjoy!
