    Justin Turner would be the #1 target imo. Especially if we could get him on a 1-2 year deal... Drury is more of a risk imo as this year was pretty much an outlier for him, and he didn't play all that great for SD.

    What's crazy is we could have literally given up just Ruiz for D'Arnaud, and I still would have been quite happy.

    I think he's had an opportunity to force the issue for the Brewers, but he just hasn't done so. His defense still needs quite a bit of work and even his hitting isn't anything to write home about.

    I wouldn't put it past the Brewers to improve Contreras' value defensively, especially after what we saw with Narvaez. Even so, I agree. This trade has little impact on Quero in the long run. If anything, we have less of an incentive to rush his development...

    You let him continue to develop in the lower minors and wait for him to force the issue a la the Blue Jays. A really good "problem" to have.

    I prefer Justin Turner. Hopefully we can get to him before the Marlins do as it's rumored they've made him an offer.

    I was banging the Danny Jansen drum quite a bit over the past couple weeks, but that's because I didn't think it was possible to turn Ruiz into Contreras. Contreras is the better player and such a huge upgrade for this team.

    Only way we wouldn't have to give up more is if the Braves sent Ozuna to MKE...But the Winker trade would seem to make rostering Ozuna impossible to me...

    Huh? Narvaez defensive value (Fangraphs) 2018-2019: -13.7. Narvaez defensive value (Fangraphs) 2020-2022: +33.4. Of course, that's not a be-all-end-all stat, but seems pretty indicative to me.

    FWIW, Narvaez possessed worse numbers at C when we acquired him and we turned him into a well above average defensive C....
