  1. At the end of the day it's still whatever imo. In the 1% event Quintana actually becomes something, then yeah the process becomes a major, major problem. From a strict on-field perspective, it allowed us to acquire Miller, a high-level reliever, for nothing. More than fine by me.
  2. He has a worse wRC+ than he did last year in the DSL....
  3. He's an average hitter in the ACL....The odds he never amounts to anything are like 98%.
  4. Quintana is mostly living off his signing pedigree at this point. Made and Pena were the hits in that class, and boy were they ever.
  5. Brewers are after O'Hearn.
  6. Dude, you're starting with a completely faulty assumption. Did you ever consider that virtually every one else here would give their right arm to see the Brewers win a WS? The problem is that the approach you're advocating for is far from guaranteed to result in a WS title. And depending how you look at it not any substantially more likely to result in a WS title than the approach the Brewers FO has been adopting of developing from within and generating as many opportunities as they can. Bottom line is just because we're enjoying the success of this season and other seasons doesn't mean we don't want more. The literal purpose of this game is to provide us with entertainment, and that aspect can certainly be lost when you're in constant consternation about how the FO isn't doing enough to accomplish something that only 1 of 30 teams does every year. Ring culture has ruined sports, and you seem to be an unfortunate, even if unwitting, byproduct of that.
  7. Logan Henderson would be a tough pill to swallow obviously, despite our wealth of young pitching. I like Adamczewski as much as anyone (not quite as high on Wichrowski), but we have to be realistic about their worth in the grand scheme of things. You gotta give to get, even for a rental. I'd be more apt to consider if we could swap Tobias Myers for Henderson.
  8. What’s the point of you being a Brewers fan if you’re already certain they’re bowing out in the first round despite them currently holding the best record in the league? Like what is the actual point?
  9. Seems like a price worth that could be worth paying. I personally value Patrick less than any of our other young starters with the exception of C-Rod. Secondary stuff other than his fastball variations just isn't there imo. Black remains positionless and the QOC is lagging. Suarez is only a rental so I'd still make this trade with gritted teeth, but we're talking about potentially the one missing piece to a WS caliber roster.
  10. We have 2 Steven Kwans already in Sal Frelick and Isaac Collins...

  12. But when does he start to receive some criticism....
  13. Tired: Bryan Reynolds. Wired: Adolis Garcia.
  14. This is actually fair. Acuna is a generational hitter who is signed to a generationally team friendly contract over the next few years. Only concern is the ACL injuries but those were freak incidents and he's bounced back from this latest one way better than he did last time.
  15. Feel like Uribe is more deserving and would have a better shot. Not that I'd exactly be downtrodden if he had the entire all-star break to rest.
  16. I mean, this is a certain kind of special. Does this dude dare show his face and admit he was completely and utterly wrong. Or does he simply wait it out (per usual) for the next losing streak or (heaven forbid) postseason exit in the most desperate of attempts to save face? Either way, I would actually appreciate more threads like this given the effect this one has had. How about one entitled: "The Brewers will never win a World Series in our lifetimes".
  17. If the Brewers are trading any starter, it should be Quintana instead of Cortes.
  18. Show me an example of a contending team that traded their best starter midseason and got better. The Hader trade was one thing. This would be another. Plus any team that wants Peralta at the deadline isn't going to give up a worthwhile SS or 3rd baseman.
  19. Turang has by far the most ABs as the leadoff man on this team.... Chourio hits leadoff pretty much exclusively against LHP who he has a .386 OBP against.... Again, we have much bigger problems, like getting sub replacement level production from the left side of the infield, zero power from Contreras, etc.....
  20. Well, it is the IGT and your initial comments were related to his ABs in tonight's game... And if you've watched his ABs over the last couple weeks or so, you can see that he's taking more pitches and chasing less. Non-coincidentally, he's getting on base at a .377 clip and has been our hottest hitter along with Yelich. He's low on our list of problems.
  21. I feel like you think MLB hitters have greater control over whether it's hit at a fielder than they actually do....The goal is literally to hit the ball hard. Yes, Chourio has been a bit too overagressive at times this year including expanding out of the zone. But tonight provides absolutely zero evidence of that. He was barreling up pitches right down the middle. Unfortunately 3 of them went right at fielders. Bad luck. It happens. Bottom line is you want a hitter like Chourio swinging at those pitches especially when the alternative is getting behind in the count. That's not even going to get you on base.
  22. He's been getting pitches right down the middle and has been on all of them. Not sure why you'd want him taking those.
