    That's definitely a fair enough tradeoff, but then he should be placed in a corner and not a position that is as important defensively as CF. Our lack of defensive production from CF is hurting our metrics overall.

    I'm talking about the OF in general. Chourio hasn't seen enough time in CF this year for the data to be particularly useful. Mitchell has pretty clearly taken a step back, though. Chourio's range in the OF is elite wherever he plays and is still fresh enough to CF and young enough that there's potentially more upside than Mitchell with comparatively little downside at this point. Lara would ultimately take precedence when he's in the lineup.

    Let's be honest, anyone who is seriously opposed to this is doing so for self-serving reasons (in Amy's case) or has yet to enter the 21st century. The fact that the Brewers have taken this long while literally every other stadium has long had their own exclusive home plate area is just proof that the Brewers are already highly protective of the small market fan experience. What it comes down to is they make make way more money auctioning off these seats to businesses than they do the average joe fan. Sucks, but let's not pretend that most fans have access to those seats in the first place. Brewers making more money is better for us who care most about the on-field product anyways. Just wait until you see what is in store around the ballpark after next year....If this is a step too far for you.

    Let's be honest, the Brewers really need to start being better on defense if they're going to overtake the Dodgers and win a World Series, as they're highly unlikely to be able to outslug the Dodgers. Pratt's callup and the presumed removal of Rengifo from the roster (not to mention the likely end of Hamilton's time at SS) should be a major boost in that department irrespective of his ultimate offensive production. The next logical area of defensive improvement is CF, where the Brewers could potentially be getting GG (even if not-PCA level) production from Luis Lara. If I were the Brewers, I would seriously explore moving Mitchell to RF in favor of Lara and then Chourio (who has been better than Mitchell in the this OF per the metrics) when Lara isn't in the lineup.

    Fischer and Jett Williams? Maybe would have to add Bishop Letson. I’d do that.

    Unpopular opinion maybe, but I’d be willing to deal Fischer for Skubal. First, because that kind of a K rate for a college pick in high A scares me to death. Idea would be to capitalize on his stock before those issues inevitably start to catch up to him at higher levels. Second, because the left side of the infield looks set for the foreseeable future for the Brewers in light of the Pratt extension. Made’s likely presence at 3B relegated Fischer to 1B, which just isn’t as valuable and where the Brewers have several other options.

    We had power hitters in the game....Other than Chourio in the first inning, they didn't get the job done. Why would you take out Contreras for Sanchez or Bauers for Vaughn against a right handed starter?

    Yes I am. Are you? I mean you're the one that wants Gary Sanchez in the lineup against a right handed starter, which would make me question that.

    lol Come on you know better than that.... You know as well as I that his SLG % is that high because he's batting .360 with a .390 BABIP. His xSLG is .419 and his barrel % is by far a career low 3.8%. Like I said, he's playing more like Luis Arraez right now. Which goes to show how talented of a hitter he is to be able to adjust to diminished bat speed. But to act like his absence from the lineup was any sort of a decisive factor in terms of power output is just missing the bigger picture.

    Except Vaughn isn't exactly barreling the baseball right now regardless of splits. His bat speed and power remains down because of the hammate.... He's playing more like Luis Arraez right now. Which is working well for him, especially against LHP. But doubt he would've made the difference tonight in terms of power output.

    Sanchez stinks against RHP.... Vaughn isn't that great against RHP either for that matter. Other than Chourio's HR in the 1st, your sluggers simply didn't get the job done.

    Ryan Braun once had more innings at 3B... If he were an option, he'd be playing there.

    Disagree. Elite CF defense which I think Lara can provide is so much more valuable. Exhibit A: PCA (not saying he's a PCA level defender, but he might be the next tier down). Mitchell hasn't been good enough in CF this year to justify him staying there at the expense of Lara. It could be a huge area of upgrade for this team that has otherwise been very mediocre defensively this year.

    And I consequently don't expect that Pratt will be in AAA for the remainder of the season. Lara based on his performance is already knocking on the door in a way which Pratt isn't.

    My bad. Still the Brewers are not generally in the business of giving MLB contracts to guys to sit in AAA or on the bench. If he's extended, I would expect him to be called up soon and be seeing significant MLB ABs, almost certainly at the expense of Frelick. With Chourio, Mitchell, and Bauers already taking up the lion's share of ABs, it becomes a simple numbers game. Would they need to trade Frelick? No, especially with Mitchell's health always in question. But he would become a 4th/5th OFer and likely be on his way out sooner than later.

    Sal Frelick has had three full seasons in the majors at this point. There's a major difference. Do I think that Sal is quite as bad as his numbers would indicate? No. But an extension of Lara right now would be quite ominous for Frelick, with a trade possible as soon as the deadline.

    If an extension is what is occurring, I would imagine Sal Frelick instantly becomes a trade candidate.

    Made is obvious. But not trading Pena either unless for a legit controllable star. We have a multitude of back half of top 100 guys that can be made available for the right player.
