  1. Absolutely devastating. Now we have to win this series in 2. And Miley is going to be counted on if we get further than that. This franchise is cursed.
  2. Absolutely devastating.
  3. Brewers over Dbacks in 3. Phillies over Marlins in 2. Twins over Jays in 3. Rays over Rangers in 2.
  4. I never said he should be the guy, but he should certainly be on the list of candidates due to helming the Braves' offense. Villanueva is actually one of those guys I think should be up there, too. Same with Stephen Vogt. While different jobs, it's not like there's zero hitting coaches who have gone on to become successful managers.
  5. CC didn't have any coaching, let alone managing experience when we hired him.... The allure of Seitzer is pretty clear imo with his being in charge of the Braves' hitting regime. I think we could use some new ideas there at the major league level to pair with our already elite pitching development system. The exact sort of thing you want with this contingent of young hitting prospects we have as they enter the most crucial stage of their development. There's other candidates out there, too, that are more appealing than Murphy imo.
  6. If CC does up and leave (which I'm still skeptical of), then I hope we don't feel compelled to simply promote Pat Murphy. Kevin Seitzer, for example, is a guy we should be taking a long and hard look at.
  7. You say this like we don't have a consensus top 3 farm system in the game with young, developing talent already on the roster....We're following the Rays model. There may be a slight dip for a year or two, or there might not be. But a "nosedive", especially in the current expanded playoffs, is improbable.
  8. And Corbin Burnes for the Brewers, non-surprisingly, per Curt Hogg.
  9. That's ridiculous. Of course money matters a heck of a lot, but it's not the only thing. Especially when you have someone like CC who's already made millions of dollars from his playing and managing career. Not to mention a family that he wants to spend time with. Manager contracts are also different from player contracts. Dave Roberts makes the most at $6.5 million per year. Brewers can likely afford to make CC the highest paid manager in baseball which is what he deserves.
  10. People care. He deserves to be honored for his excellence.
  11. Except the Mets, who everybody is assuming, aren’t ready to compete next year. Zero indications of a rift with MA. And is CC really someone who’s going to leave his hometown team hanging for a few extra million bucks? I’d put a lot of money on it being the Brewers or retirement. If he leaves for NY, he’s sure going to have a lot more difficult time watching his sons play.
  12. Final Wild Card Roster Prediction: Position Players: Contreras, Caratini, Santana, Turang, Adames, Donaldson, Monasterio, Yelich, Frelick, Taylor, Canha, Mitchell, Perkins, Tellez, Miller (15) Pitchers: Burnes, Woodruff, Peralta, Williams, Payamps, Milner, Uribe, Peguero, Megill, Wilson, Miley (11)
  13. I don’t see it. What incentive does he have to manage somewhere else other than (maybe) a couple extra million bucks? This is his home. Retirement? A different story.

  15. Taylor needs to be in the lineup for all three games.
  16. Dbacks have Gallen and Kelly, but that's pretty much it actually. Their bullpen stinks. Marlins' bullpen is better.
  17. At the same time, I'm not worried by either opponent. We'll be favored to win and should win if we play like we have over the past month and a half.
  18. Not for Game 1 they can't. And if they want to throw both Gallen and Kelly on 3 day's rest that's also fine by me.
  19. That is the Payamps we've seen for most of the season.
  20. I think we're going to get the Dbacks. Fine by me.
  21. He was wild tonight for a bit. But he's pitched well this month and on the season. You don't make a decision based on one game. You need his arm in the postseason.
  22. Yeah. Only reason Cubs were alive coming into today was because of the suspended game.
  23. He's given up one run in the month of September before this...
  24. Uribe has a 1.78 ERA....He'll be playing a big role in the postseason bullpen.
